I'm 28 years old. I graduated from Michigan State University with my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. GO GREEN! Now I'm a high school chemistry teacher in New York City living with my husband in a small studio apartment we pay way too much money for.

advice
I'm 17 and female, and I'm really thinking about going on the pill. However, I do NOT want to start taking it because I'm sexually active. I am NOT sexually active and I'm still a virgin.
The reason I want to start it is to regulate my period. I've had it for 4 years now and it has never been regular.
I just don't know how to talk to my mom about it and that is what I need help with. I'm afraid she'll assume that I'm sexually active and think terrible things about me or something...
Any suggestions? =)
Here's how you could tell her:
Go up to her. Say:
You: Mom, I want to talk to you about something.
Her: Yes?
You: Well, I want to go on the pill...
Her: WHAT?!
You: Before you freak out, it's not because I'm sexually active. I'm a virgin and I'm not going to be sexually active.
Her: Ok...
You: I want to regulate my period. That's why I want to be on it. Maybe we can talk to my doctor about it or something to figure out the best solution.
If you're mature, your mom will probably listen to you.
