I'm a freshman and I didn't do too good in middle school. Well I pulled it all together at the end and promoted to high school. I'm so scared that I'm gonna fail. Everything is easier said than done. But seriously, I've been so stressed out because of math. Mainly math and biology. If you look at me, people think I'm an A+ student. My grades aren't THAT bad but still. I had A's in PE and health. And English and French I had B's. But math and biology I have D's. I'm barely pulling this off and if I don't get this together I'm so afraid. For one thing, I'm afraid of my future. That's what scares me. I don't think I'll be able to amount to anything. I have low self esteem but I don't really feel like getting into that. I would talk to my teachers and everything but its just so confusing. I'm in the basic math, algebra, and second semester is always harder. I have these headaches and I'm pretty sure its coming from stress at school. I think I'm overreacting but everybody in school talks about their future, what they want to be, college, ect. I have no idea whatsoever. I don't know if I can make it to college. That's what I'm scared of, if I don't go to a college that my life wouldn't be as good as it could be. I know I'm in 9th grade but I don't want to go to summer school. I would try tutors but I never have the time. I have issues at home and really wouldn't make it after school. My biology teacher is so confusing, even if it was one on one I couldn't get it. Please help, thanks. I'm stressing too much over this.

Trust me i know exactaly how you feel! I was in your situation too. But you need to take a deep breath, and do whatever you can do to get extra points on you grade. For example, maybe you could do some extra credit? My first advice to you, is to control what you can control. What I mean by that is to focus on things that you can have power over. When you get homework or Projects, its VERY important that you do alot of work on them, this way if you dont do as great on a test or quiz as you hoped, you will be able to back it up. Participate in class and ask lots of questions, I know you may think some questions are stupid, but the truth is, alot of times students in your class have the same questions, you are just the only one asking it. Teachers are there for you to ask questions, so dont hessitate.
Plan your schedule wisely. Yes you need to work hard, but everyone deserves a little break sometimes. Make sure to get in time with your friends and or family over the weekend, and dont feel bad if you watch a little tv. In fact, I honestly have a bio quiz tomorrow, and I really and truely dont understand what I am doing, but Im going to be calm, and do the best that I can. If you are still struggling, I suggest you ask your teacher for some extra help. You can also get an out of school tutor to help you.
You are only a freshman, dont worry about it right now, everyone told me that my freshman year was going to be the easiest and best, but its the complete opposite. My freshman year was terrible, I got two C's on my semester 1 grades, and two C's on my semester 2 grades. Sophomore year was much more stress free and I didnt get any C's. My GPA Semester 1 of Sophomore year was a 3.296 which is good.
Take a trip to your guidance counselor for some "guidance." They will be more than welcome to help you, and suggest things to help you make your life easier.
A tip for in class while you are learning I would say is definetly to repeat in your mind what your teacher says to see if you really understand it. For example, if your teacher says: Water is polar. Oil is polar too. Oil would desolve in water because "polar dessolves polar." repeat that to yourself, maybe asking in a question: "Why does oil dessolve in water? Because they are both polar, and polar dessolves polar." If you didnt understand what you repeated to yourself simply raise your hand and ask the teacher. I also find that my friends can explain to me what the teacher teaches better than the teacher does haha. If this is the case with you, dont hesitate to ask a peer for a little help, everyone needs assistance sometime! :-)
Good luck, and remember to just relax. If I can help you with anything else, let me know! you can always inbox me on my advice column, xosodapopx3
