advice

hey! i was just wondering i'm kind of new to this and i don't really know how to use a layout on my advice column or how to decorate it.

ok, personaly my favorite layout is the "Your Space' one. It takes up the whole screen and uses up all the space very nicely. http://www.advicenators.com/style.php
it's the second one under "Approved Public Styles"

now, the colors are something, that take a while. Don't be afraid to experiment with it. It takes time to get the hang of it. try the "Automatic color scheme buttons" to see what colors in general you prefer. Just make sure it is easy for the people to read.

Don't worry if it looks bad when you start. Trust me, it took me a while before I got my column looking nice, beforse it was not so good. Try and see what you like. Also visit other columns for ideas (but don't steal their setting completly!).
