Answer: Everybody is different, I have no way of knowing how your crush expresses him/herself. The best way is to just ask them, you'll never get anywhere if you don't.

If you know what they are, do you use two per hole (one at the back and one at the front) or just one for either side of a hole?

I would use them on both sides of the hole, because whenever I put them on one side, they would end up ripping. It's up to you, though.
