Ok so my boyfriend and I have been together for just over 2 years.
When we first got together I gave him headjobs without condoms on. Stupid I know but it's all good.
Anyway, the main reasons for that is because I was too scared to ask him to put one on. Then one night I bought a packet of condoms and he suggested to put one on the stop his cum from going everywhere.
I've never given him a headjob without a condom since. The thing is he's been asking if I would give him one without a condom on..

Make him drink pineapple juice or eat pineapples a day or two beforehand. It makes it taste a little sweeter. Make sure he doesn't eat onions or garlic or anything like that though. It's kind of like when you can taste them when you kiss him, you can also taste them when you go down on him. About the smell, it should help with that a little too, but ask him to cleanse himself or take a shower beforehand.
