For the most part I'm good with car and animal related questions, but I'll answer other stuff if its something I feel I know enough about. Ask me anything, and I'll give it my best shot.
Just dont ask me anything about the chances of you being pregnant.
Or if s/he likes you or not.
Or if you're fat. (I'll say yes no matter what)

Hi, I'm not trying to lose more than a pound or two, if anything. But I would like to study how many calories I'm taking in and how many I'm burning. I am considering getting a pedometre, scale and book to write down everything I eat. I realize it's probably good to see exactly what I'm eating and what not, but is it mentally healthy for a teenager to be so aware of their health? I am just over 5'8 and around 115 lbs, so I'm not having any issues.
Thanks!
PS: I have a lot of spare time and this interests me, haha.
First off, I think that its perfectly normal to be aware of your health, and I dont think that you need to lose wieght.
But, I do think that its a good idea even if you dont need to lose wieght, to figure out what your diet is really like. For that, I would highly suggest www.mypyramidtracker.gov , all you do is create an account, and every day enter in what foods you have eaten (include everything) and at the end of a set number of days, it gives you a sheet of the percents of all nutrients, fats, carbs, ptotiens, vitamins, ect.that are in your diet, and suggestions on how to get more of what you lack. Its fairly user freindly, and free.
Hope this helps.
