I'm a photography major at a community college. I love music, fashion, art, my friends, books, films, theatre...and vampires. Ask me anything. I especially like questions about my opinions on something and questions that aren't even asking for advice.

My mom pushes me with grades. She made me study all day for 5 days for one test, and I got a 77. Now I'm grounded for 2 weeks and have to study even harder and longer. I have no social life during the week and rarely on weekends because my mom always makes me study. I'm just not that smart. My first language is Chinese, so school in America is difficult and my mom doesn't care. She hit me with the textbook once because I didn't take notes like she told me to. My friends and I agree that I'm doing the best I can, and adding even more days of non-stop studying won't help. What do I do?

Talk to a counselor at school about getting a private tutor who could help you after school or on weekends. Good luck!!
