I've finally decided where to go to college next year. I cancelled the housing/dorm form since I figured I could live with my sister in her apartment right by the school. I thought this would be great since the dorms at the school are notoriously crazy and that's not me at all.

Yet, now I'm having second thoughts. I already have a boyfriend, so I'm not worried about finding a 'hot guy' to hook up with or anything, but asside from classes, will I meet as many people? Would I be missing out on basic college experiences if I don't live in a dorm?

i really think you should live in a dorm. Not only will u get the experiance of meeting new people, but you'll see how it is to live away from family and if you live in a dorm, you're surrounded by a bunch of people going thru the same college experiance as you. you'll have more support for the things you may be nervous about, like classes, parties, exams and such because everyone will be going thru the same thing. Some colleges requie freshmen to live on campus. i'm guessing your college doesn't....but there is a reason why its sometimes required. You're going to be nervous and scared when you go to school in the fall and being on campus lets you get more involved and meet new people fast. even if you're not rowdy, go for living on campus. if you decide you don't like it, you can probably move after one semester or the next year. But remmeber, dorms are a good way to learn what its like to be on your own without being totally by yourself. If your sister was there, she'd be taking care of you. so good luck and have fun at college!
