I'm in an advanced Chior group. We are going to sing at some fancy restaurant. We get to choose what song we want to sing, because were doing solos, duets, trios, and quartets. I have a group to sing with and we all want to do this so we need to get an anser before all the slots get filled up. Does anybody have any good songs to sing there? We need something ispirational that everyone would enjoy. Please help. I am so desperate I will rate EVERYONE who ANSWERS THE QUESTION with a 5.
Quartets:
"The Prayer" by Charlotte Church (requires an additional soloist)
"Seasons of Love" from "Rent" in 4-part harmony
"Sweet Dreams" by Annie Lennox
Trios:
"For Good" from "Wicked" in 3-part harmony. It's supposed to be sung by two people, but you can get it in 3-part choral music.
"The Chorus of Witches" from the Opera "Macbeth" by Verdi (I know it sounds geeky, but honestly, it's really easy and sounds great)
"Give Us Hope" from "Sounds of a Better World."
The organization is really corny, but the songs are pretty cool. You can get the music at soundsofabetterworld.org or the CD at any music store.
"Dancing Queen" in 3-part. Awesome song.
Duets:
"For Good" from "Wicked."
"Defying Gravity" from "Wicked"
Solos:
"Un Moto Di Gioia" from The Marriage of Figaro. Sweet, pretty and very easy.
"Wishing you were somehow here again" from "Phantom of the Opera"
"Buenos Aires" from Evita
(Rating: 5) wow. even tho rent is taken, i would have to say this answer is the most deserving of a five. thank you
