I just recently became a columnist and I went to go look at the list of the other columnists. I noticed that most of the others have rating stars next to their name. What are these for? Do I not have them because I'm relatively new?

The stars are ratings. And since you're new you dont have one. You must have gotten 5 (sometimes more, i dont why) feedback points for them to average out your rating.
