Because contrary to popular belief, karma doesn't really hold true. You can be the nicest person in the world, all kinds of people would like you, but your life could still be a living hell. You could lose your job, lose a loved one, etc... The inverse is also true. Some people live wealthy, happy lives and get away with some of the most vicious acts. It's all because the way a lot of people percieve the world is false. The harsh reality is you never know what will happen and often times things don't happen for a good enough reason.
