i am just wondering why people put lemon juice in there hair. i am not bein mean but i just wanna know what it does

hey dolL! its supposed to bring out your hair's natural highlights when you put it in and then go in the sun. (it gets lighter) me and my sister did it a couple years of years ago... and it didnt really work!
