Hey, My name is Mandy Marie. I'm an Australian and always will be one. I still own the accent, but I live in the US. I recently just moved from Miami Beach to New York City. Alright, my ex boyfriend "Jim" and I haven't talked since he's broken up with me about 2 months ago. We've dated a couple of times before, but he was always the one to break up with me, even though we loved eachother very much. Well, after 2 months of me not talking to him, he's started calling me again, and wanting to see me. I know his intentions are good, and I know that he loves me, because he actually cries over me, and writes songs about me and such. But I'm just not sure if I should try it with him again, because I don't want him to break my heart again, but I do want to be with him. So much, I would take a bullet for this guy. Also, my best friend hates him, because he's broken up with me so many times before. And she doesn't hate a lot of people. I know it would be wrong to date him if my best friend hated him, but you have no idea how much I want to be with this guy. I don't want to fuck up mine and my best friend's relationship, but I'm also terribly in love with this guy, and vise versa. Can you help me please?
You want to be with this guy more than anything, and he is obviously showing his emotions for you, right? Now I understand that he has broken up with you a lot, but you need to tell him honestly of what needs to happen if you two start dating again. Saying things such as : " I love you, really I do..and I want to be with you but there are a few things I want to make clear. You have broken my heart before, and I just can't let that happen anymore, so if we are going to date again I want you to be honest with me about everything, and I want you to be there for me. Which does not mean that you can break up with me about small things, because if you do love me you'll have to try and make this work and I will too." Make him understand exactly what you want, but please keep in mind that if you're going to tell him things like that, say it nicely. You only want whats best for you and him. About your friend...you love this guy, don't let anyone stop you. Talk to her and tell her that you love him and she needs to support your ideas, maybe she can spend time with him and you. Once she gets to know the reasons why you love this guy, she'll respect him more. If you decide to go out with him again stay close with your friend. Maybe she could be upset because you spend more time with him than her. So always make time for your friends. She doesn't have to like him if she doesn't want to, but she can try.
