Hey, My name is Mandy Marie. I'm an Australian and always will be one. I still own the accent, but I live in the US. I recently just moved from Miami Beach to New York City.

okay well...my mom and dad got a divorce a few years ago..so i have to go back and forth like..one week i'll be with my mom and the next i'll be with my dad..but i cant stand my dad and his new girlfriend..personally i think he deserves better than her but what do i know i'm only 14...okay well..how do i tell my dad that i dont want to go over there anymore because he changed and i dont like his girlfriend?

Hey hun! Well, that's not such an easy thing to say to your dad without hurting his feelings. But be honest with him, and tell him that lately his behavior has changed and you are quite concerned about it and if it has to do with his relationship with his new girlfriend. Is there any particular reason as to why you don't like his girlfriend? If you just feel uncomfortable seeing them both together maybe you should reconsider and give it some time. If it has been awhile sicne they've been together and you still be insecure, it's definitely time to talk to your dad about his girlfriend. Instead of saying " Dad I don't like your girlfriend, so I'm not comming over" which would hurt his feelings just be considerate to his feelings. Maybe explain that you have given sometime to get to understand his girlfriend but you find it hard to see what qualities he likes about her. Tell him that you've noticed that he has changed and that you don't know if she is the reason for that and you don't feel as secure around her, and maybe you should take a little break from visiting until everything comes together.
