I recently got a new cd burner i connected it but my computer wold not read it, so i disconnected my other drive and made the burner the master dive, but it didnt wrk it just froze in the post screen with the big AOL, so i disconnected it and reconnected my other dive and put my pc back to ether how i had it before i messed with it but it stays in tha screen i cant go into the bios or anything cause the thing is frozen.
ANY HELP OR IDEAS ON HOW TO FIX IT MAYBY WESITES ANY THING WOULD HELP THANKS.

You want the "Original IBM POST error codes". If it beeps twice, scroll down on that page for the error codes.
If you made your CD-ROM drive a master drive in your BIOS setup utility, remember not to do that in the future. You should only touch those settings when you have more than one drive of a specific type installed. You should rarely do anything in the BIOS setup at all, actually.

That's from a public domain dictionary, so you can use it word-for-word in your report if you want.

So last night i went in my poool and i tried a 'top model' picture underwater.IT didn't work so i tried a nex one with me floating.......and when i was regaining my balance, my hand dips into the water twice....and the cam was in my hand. Yeah i know i'm stupid for carrying my cam in the pool but i need help fixng it. WILL cam fixers be able to fix it? I blow dried it.Last night when it cooled off it worked like a darling. But this morning the pictures come out black. Absolutely no sign that i was aiming for a picture. I'm pretty bummed...so what's your best advice for me?
Immediately remove the battery. The reason water destroys electronics is that it short-circuits; if you remove the CMOS battery you could swim with your computer.
Since you've waited so long, it's probably lost, but if you remove the battery and let it sun dry for a couple of days, it may still work.

I doubt you'll find a place online that accepts international credit cards *and* ships to Europe.
Go to your local electronics store and say "I would like to buy a USB[pronounce each letter, like you-ess-be] external hard drive with around [a number between 50 and 500] gigabytes[pronounce gig-a-bites, with a hard g]." It's a very common device, they'll have it for a reasonable price. You can pay in cash, and if it's for a friend you can ship it yourself.

there's a file I want to open it's sheet music and it's a bitmap image. When I try to open it, it says invalid menu handle. Help?
On the website you get the file from, you need to right click the file and "save file as...", not left click and "open".
This error is caused when the image is corrupted(parts of the image didn't download correctly). If "saving" instead of "opening" doesn't work, it's never going to work.

I need to download a really good program that:
-let's you burn any type of videos onto a disk
-the program doesn't have a lot of MB and doesn't take a lot of space (my computer space is seriously going down)
-very easy to install
-VERY SAFE, no virus, spyware, etc
-easy to uninstal after i burn a few video onto a disk (then in like a ocuple of months when i decide to burn soem more, i can easily instal and then uninstal)

Software never ruins your hardware. What would speed up your computer and decrease the life of your hardware is overclocking, which is(as far as I know) impossible from software. It's not for novice users, so I won't explain it here.

I'm really freaking out.... Is downloading music from the internet illegal? I've downloaded 160+ songs and I really don't wanna get in trouble! Is there a way you can tell if the website is illegal or legal? Can anyone give me LEGAL websites that you can download music from? Only websites, not a program you have to download. Also, can anyone tell me if these websites are fine to use cause I downloaded most of my songs from this website www.seekasong.com, and some from www.mp3raid.com..... And is it ok if I burn a CD from iTunes with all my songs on it and give it to my friend? (they're downloaded songs and she won't do anything with them except listen to them, not like selling. If you live in the US, it is. Downloading the full song (not just a 30 second sample) for fre from any site is always illegal, unless the song is under an alternative license(popular songs never are).
It is illegal to download from either site. Also, mp3raid.com has malware on it.
Strangely, it is legal to give a friend a burnt CD, as long as you don't sell them.
Any time you download a full copywrited song from anywhere for free, it is (almost) always illegal. I don't know any legal alternatives. I can almost guarantee you won't get caught for downloading, though. If you share the songs in limewire or similar, it puts you at greater risk.

Ok well one of my brother's friends always looks up..you know..bad stuff (like reading, looking, watching, every kind you can imagine) and it's so gross! and we only got one computer so imagine how grossed out i am when i see someone saved something on my acocunt..
Anyway, my computer breaks down sometimes so we gotta take it to get it fixed and one time the man told my dad that someone looks at dirty stuff so my dad's super suspicious.

If the earth was flat, completely straight sticks would cast no shadow. This assumes that earth is *exactly* flat and light is coming at the earth from *directly above*. It actually isn't very good proof, and I'm not aware of any famous historical person using the argument.

Ok well when i turned on the computer it told me to press DEL to change CPU settings or press F1 to continue.
This started happening this year so I just press DEL, change the date and time to the correct time, press F10 to save everything, and the computer will restart and then on with the normal things.
Today i changed it and it still told me that CPU has been changed and kept telling me to change it. I only change the time and date since I'm not exactly the ocmputer expert.
Am I supposed to change something else?
Master_Betty, I'm pretty sure she's referring to something other than the standard POST screen.
Press F1 at that message. If that works, you're done.
If the computer reboots and it appears again, press DEL. Somewhere in the screen it will say something like "load fail-safe defaults", or "load factory configuration", or "load defaults". Choose this and (if it doesn't do it automatically), press F10 to save and exit. If that works, you're done.
If that doesn't work, follow this guide on resetting CMOS:

(I know that page says it's for passwords, but it works for most CMOS-related problems).
If that doesn't fix it, your CMOS battery is probably dead. Bring your computer to geaksquad(or similar) and say "I would like you to replace the see-mas[pronounce CMOS like that] battery in my computer. Please don't change anything else.". Especially if you have an old computer, this could take them a while. That will probably fix it.
If that doesn't work, I would try these additional steps, which I'm not going to explain, since the above steps will probably fix it:
-upgrade(flash) BIOS
-replace the BIOS chip
-if your motherboard+CPU is listed here:
