Q: ok basically i'm 14 years old and i've never had a boyfriend. never had a guy asked me out. never been kissed at all. and it's really pathetic... its not that im ugly or fat or have no friends or i'm mean, or anything. guys just never seem to like me. a lot of my more unattractive friends seem to get boyfriends, and my personality is just as good, i'm just as outgoing, i'm just as ANYTHING. and i feel like the world's biggest loser. is 14 really old for someone whos never been kissed/had a boyfriend????? tell the truth!

You're not a loser. If you actually talk to people you'd probably find out most people haven't done anything remotely meanigful at that age. Hell, I'm sixteen and neither have I. There's no rush, it's about finding the right person, not the quickest and easiest.

Leg lifts and lying abductions really help define your lower abs. Make sure you do them nice and slow, and flex your abs (while relaxing the rest of the body) to get the most efficient workout.

If it costs money, you're throwing money away. SOME adults lose the ability to hear at the top of the frequency range. Most don't.

Q: My cheer squad is putting together an appreciation type party for our football players as the get ready for the season.
At this thing, we want to show a football movie. We have it narrowed down to Remember the Titans and Friday Night Lights. We think they're both one of the best football movies out there (well... besides Rudy, of course) but we can't decide on one.
Which would y'all choose? If you answer, we'd really like a reason why as well!
Also, we really just and one of those two, nothing else, and we can't show both. Thanks

It takes patience more than anything else.
Try imitating someone first. Get you feet wet by trying to sound like someone else. I kind of did it with Weezer for a while and I started to notice little intricacies of songwriting and soloing in specific keys. And with these in mind I learned other groups songs, and amassed a little more knowledge. Throughout all this I was writing little licks and progressions, and recording all of them on a tape recorder (Do it. Just do it. Record or write down any riffs or melodies you think you might want to use, otherwise you'll forget.)
I had always really liked my lyrics, but finally I just started nailing it. My problem was the melody- it never flowed right, just like you said. After observing how others had done it I can of started to get a little bit of an instinct for it and my songs started to work. And they improved pretty damn fast.
There isn't one correct way to write a song. There are super-personal songs, like Iris for example, and then you've got something like "Give ti Away" by the RHCP that isn't really about much, it just flows like a mofo and rocks. Try everything and see what you feel comfortable doing. I've always thought that you can't force songwriting. You can't just conjure meaningful lyrics out of nowhere, you have to feel them, or have a cohesive concept behind the song. It can be tough. And remember, 90% of writing is revision.
Hope I helped. Best of luck!

Q: It is pretty much impossible for me to empathize/understand people who believe in God and religion. I am fully against both of them, for a long list of reasons that I don't need to go in to. The deal is, people tell me I'm being sacreligous/a heretic/going to hell, but I can't understand where they're coming from AT ALL. To me evangelists and deeply religous people just seem like pitiful, misguided puppets of a nonexistent power. It tends to screw up my relationships with people.... Any advice?

I've always had a problem with the people who try to serve their religion up to you on a platter.
Here's a quick backround story: I believe in a higher power. Not the christian god. I believe Christ was a man and a great teacher.
You know how you deal with the close minded? Tell them you'll consider it, and you're glad they shared their opinion with you. Be flat out nice and gracious about it, because it's the only thing they can accept. They are firmly ingrained with the concept that their opinion is the only acceptable answer for all the hard questions.
This being said, it is not the majority of those in the Christian, Catholic, or other faiths. I have so much respect for those that follow the teachings and moral convictions of a religion, but do not push it onto others.
I've always believed that the moral education one gets from religion is excellent. To an extent. As soon as the phrase "Will of God" or "Don't kill God's children" gets thrown in, I throw the words out, because they're skewed. My personal belief, and please, anyone, I love talking about this stuff, because I want to know as much about everything to do with it as possible, because it intrigues me.
Hope I helped.

Q: So it's not so much a pickle of what to do, moreso this character needs a last name that isn't ordinary but not unheard of and unpronouncible.

What kind of backround does the character have? Anything German might work, as most people are familiar with the pronounciations, they just aren't common. Something like "Schlichter" or "Schleub," you know? Bugenhagen.

More about yoga than you'll ever want to know
You might want to look into Pilates. As far as I know, it focuses on the midsection of the body and tones it up, eliminating fat along the way.

A blabbermouth tells people the secrets. If you keep the secrets, then no. However, being loud like that doesn't help to keep them safe.

Q: I accidentally left my glove out in the rain the other night, and it's still not dry. It's been about 4 days. Any tips or tricks? Or is my glove doomed?

It's going to dry eventually. It's all leather, most likely, and it takes time. Leave it out in the sun, and makes sure it doesn't get wet again (obviously). Oil it as if you were breaking it in again afterwards, and do the rubberband/softball wrap. That should get it back into shape.

Q: i am not very athletic. I hate running, and i'm not particulary competitive. I dont like being responsible for things on a team because i'm always scared i'll let the team down. Also i hate practices where you have to do sprints and drills esp. since i'm not a fast runner. I take dance and i play a little tennis but i'm not particularly good at eaither. What would be a good sport for me to play?

Raquetball. Trust me. It's not as technical as tennis (not even close) and if you teach a friend the rules (there are about two, all together) you can have a blast.

Q: 16/f I think that I have a crush on my best friend. I've been really good friends with him for about 5 years now, but a couple of weeks ago we went to prom together and a little lightbulb went off in my head. Now I can't stop thinking about him, dreaming about him, wishing that he were more than just my best friend. He's going off to college soon, but I really really want something to happen before he leaves. Any ideas on how to get my best friend to like me back? I don't think that he has any idea that my feelings for him have changed, and I'm afraid that I'd freak him out if I just told him the strait truth.

If you've been friends for five years, and were close enough to go to Prom as just friends, find a discreet way to tell him how you feel. I've always liked something like, "...I've just started to realize that I really care about you." And you make so that they know exactly what you mean. Nobody can get freaked out about something that sweet. And if they do, they're a horrible person.

Q: Ok well I have a friend who is 12 and she wants me to ask a question on here. (Not old enough to register yet.) Well she wants a BF and she wants to know if she is old enough to have one. Answers?

I really don't think you can at twelve. At twelve, you don't even know enough about yourself yet. If she has someone in mind, then she can still be friends with the person, obviously, but when pre-teens date, they usually just fight and steal eachothers cell phones to check and see if they called ANYONE of the opposite sex, and if they have then they dump eachother and don't talk again until High school.
I'd like to say that there are exceptions, but it takes a couple of unbelievably mature kids.

Q: ok so im a freshman in high school (15 yrs old) and like every weeekend someone in our grade has a party at their house.. and of course there's drinking. a lottt of people go.. and it's always the thing that everyone is talking about the week after that in school.. i havent gone to any yet.. but i really want to. what are some tips to like "fake drink" or only drink a little?
You don't have to drink at a party. Hell, if it's feasible that you could drive someone home, offer to be a designated driver, or even just lie and say that you are someone's.
If you feel like you have to drink, don't do any shots, or drink any liquer (Vodka, Rum, even mixed drinks with them). As a general rule of thumb, you'll get screwed up if you do those your first time, because you have no idea how quickly or how much it will effect you. Get one cup of beer and just sip it throughout the night. If these parties are that big, no one will notice you've had it the whole time. They'll all be drunk.
Hopefully you have a good time without drinking, but man, high school parties with drugs and whatnot usually suck anyway.
