Well i'm a 16 year old girl, whose pretty,fun,and popular and I have alot of friends.But there is a problem that most people don't really see as a problem;i'm italian.Not everyone at my school, but a group of people constantly make jokes to me about my heritage.It all started on the first week on school when we had to write a paper about ourselfs (favorites,ethnic background,religion,ect.) so people could get to know us.well i put in there I was italian,and right after the class these girls came up to me and asked if my dad was in the mafia!what the hell is that about?no body has any respect now adays,and i guess it has to do with shows like the gottis and the sopranos(even tho i love them!) who give people the impression ALL italian-americans are like that,and that all italian-americans have dads like tony soprano.what should I do to get rid of this stigma and situation?thanks alot and I'll rate u a 5 if u don't act all bitchy about it!=)
Stand up to those girls and tell them your happy to be italion and that you proud of where you came from. Everyone had a haritage, and im sure some of those girls are part italion. Tell them that your dads NOT in the mafia, and that they should worry about their own fathers. Also italion people are awsome, i for one love italion guys! I have a long haired domestic black cat. I also have beige carpeting throuout my home. He leaves clipms of hair all over the house and not even vacuming seems to work in pickking it up. I am sick of spending hours on my hands and knees trying to get it off of the floor. Any suggestions?

Do your homework early in the day afetr school, not right before bed. Always study for tests and quizzes, even if you think you will Ace it, still look over the info. Maybe set a day with a friend that you 2 want to study and help each other with homework. You could also ask your teacher about how to improve. and maybe get some extra credit. Hope i helped!

I have a problem finding jeans that fit me. I am 5'3", and 85 lbs. I have tried many stores, but most of them don't even have any size 0's that fit me. I have to wear juniors b/c my legs are long, but most jeans are too baggy. The only place that I have occasional luck is Kohl's, but most of the time they don't even fit me. Does anyone know a good store for people with skinny, long legs? Or could I get custom made jeans cheaply (i'm guessing not). Please help me, I rate 5's!!!

one of my good friends aint gettin out of jail for a long time. its really hard for me becuz hes not the criminal type of brother, but hes always been so kind so sweet and i wanna know why hes locked up for tha next 2 yrs. tha first yr, which was last yr was struggled through and i was hopin he would get out. but he not. and i cant go seem him becuz i have no ride i dont no where it is, and i dont no what to say when iget there. its just all messed up and writin letters that hes neva gonna get aint exactly easy for me. i only got one letter from him last yr. and i still keep it. i just dont no what to do now. can somebody help me cause ifeel like crying for him. sometimes
well try askin a parent or another family memeber to take you down there to see him. Im sure someone will take you. I mean he is your brother and it sounds like you really love him and need to see him. He is your brother, what do people expect. Family members need to stay close when bad things happen, and need to help each other feel better. Wel this is something bad, and your other family memebers should try to do whatever they can to make you feel better. Tell them all you want to do is see him and talk to him. Im sure they will understand.

She takes me away to that special place, and she just means soo much to me. The thing is she doesnt really live near me and stuff, and where i live i dont really have the greatest life, i have no friends and am always lonely if im not working and i get very very suicidal (SP) and its happened before and i dont want to hurt her and stuff,and all i want is to be with her but i have to finish school and i got an apprentaceship after school and stuff but you know i dont want to spend my life suffering like this with no one to do stuff with and nothing to do and be lonely cause it sucks, help please
First off, please dont even think about suicide. Think about how many people you would hurt that care and love you. Not to mention this special girl of yours. If you were really meant to be with her, you guys will be brought together. If you killed yourself....you would never get to experience what could happen with you and this girl. As for you life where you live now.....try joining some clubs in school...get involved! Im sure you will meet some people and become friends. Life is supposed to be fun, and dont waist your highschool years because they are supposed to be the funnest ones! Maybe go out and meet this girl on spring break or other vacations you have in school, or even for a few weeks on in the summer! But killing yourself is not the answer. You were put on earth for a reason to do something and to live your life with someone special. This girl might be the one. So be strong. Okay. I dont know what I am going to do about this and I really need help. I was out in cali for christmas break and I was with my aunt and uncle, whom i lived with for a year... and when i was out there i wrote in my livejournal... And when I came back to NY i got a call form them 2 days later saying that they read the whole thing,, even the parts of when i was living with them! And i said that i hated them and everything... but it wasnt true.. iw as just mad... anyways i wrote a sofisticated e mail to them apologizing and when i got a responce back from them it said for me to never in my life contact their family ever again and that they want nothing to do with me... and I didnt mean ANYTHING i said in there... I feel violated and betrayed and hated... and I cant stand this... I love them with all of ym heart and now im not even allowed to talk to them... what do i do and how do i feel? Was i wrong?

Maybe you should explain to your parents first what all happened. People have journals to vent, and your aunt and uncle had no right to read what you were saying. Once you tell your parents, maybe they will give you some suggestions. Write letters to your aunt and uncle explaining what happened. Kepp sending letters apologizing. Maybe send them a video message. tell them how you really feel about them. Tell them what kinda of moood you were in at the time you wrote what you did. Explain that tou dont mean what you said. What do you mean one thing they dont like? One thing they dont like about you? If theres something about you your friend doesnt like, and thats keeping them from you, then dont spend your time liking them in that way. You were made like you are for a reason. Most fast food places ( Mc Donalds, burger king, Arby's, also like dunkin donuts) offer jobs for 14 year olds. Also if you have a recreation center in your city, they will prob offer jobs for your age. Im also your age, and im tryin to get one at the rec. Also you can wait until summer to get a job and maybe work at your local pool. That would be fun! Aslso in the summer you can like mow lawns or babysit. Hope i helped!

WEll this websites dont teach you to cook, but they give recipies and tell you how to cook! so i guess it should be good. www.foodnetwork.com I always go there to get recipies becaus ei love to cook. I also watch the food network channel to learn to cook. You can check out cooks, or even take a class to cook! Also just ask your parents or grandparents or who ever cooks in your house! i wanna do track in spring, but i can't run and i have no stamina or anything. i can't run for more than two minutes without havin g to stop how can i get in shape?
Well first of all, you can see if you have a local gym. Start working out. Try running on the tredmill as long as you can. Do other things like that bicice thing, etc. Do some muscle training in your legs. Also run outside whenever you can. Time yourslf. Run as far as you can withought stopping and see how long that was. Then the next time you run, try to run an extra 30 seconds. Everytime you run try and run a little more and more. After a while you will be able to run a farther distance in less time. Also, for track, you dont have to only run. Theres long jump, the thing were you throw a ball...whatever. Also you can do sprint running, where theres not a long distance. Hope i helped!

Well if shes always lying to you, maybe she isnt a good friend to you afetr all.....think about it. Why would you want a friend who doesnt trust you, or a friend that you cant really trust? But if you really think shes still a good enough person to be your friend, then make sure you set a certain time that you guys can call each other or talk online once you start going to different schools. Sit down with her and tell her that you have been feeling like you guys are drifting from your friendship, and that you want her to be able to tell you anything and to not have to think she has to lie. Im the same age as you and im going through the same stuff....its hard i know. Hope i helped!

Why dont you try to find peopleyou can babysit for. Or you can try to talk ot some neighbors and see if you can do anything arund the house for them. Chances are they are busy to do stuff all on their own and will be thrilled that someone would like to help!
