I used to be the real skinney girl like 3 months ago. I gained 15 pounds and went from a size 3 to a 7. I eat perfect im always outside runnin or sumfin and I work out. How could that all happen so fast? I hate it, its summer and I look gross in my swim suit I usually live at the pool but I doubt ill be goin much anymore :(. Is there anything like sickness or anything that could do that, although that may sound stupid as hell lol. But I eat very good and exercise a lot and its not muscle, my mom doesn’t know either. it shouldnt be good to get this much bigger that quick. (link)
15 lbs in three months is really drastic.. How old are you? I'd say if you were 12-15 years old or you're going through puberty, then that would be the cause, but are you SURE it's not because of your eating habits?

Even though you eat well in quality, have you started to eat more in quantity? Have you started to eat a lot of carbs? A combination of eating a lot and not exercising is almost always the case when gaining that much weight, that fast. You say you exercise often, but do you really? Sometimes we feel like we do a lot when in reality, we've really cut down.

Maybe you should check with your doctor. You could have some kind of condition. This is really odd.

Good luck to you!

36/m

Briefly, the facts of my situation are as follows:

I had an emotional affair. It was a long-distance matter between me and a woman I used to know before I met my wife. When my wife began to realize what was going on (and it didn't take her long, because I'm lousy at keeping secrets and she's very perceptive) I ended it, and told my affair partner that I would not be contacting her again. I meant it, too.

That might have been the end of it, but a couple of days ago my wife looked into my e-mail account and discovered everything had been going on - things that she had not been aware of and which I had not intended to tell her. To make a long story short, the nature of the affair had turned sexual, and there were E-mails sent back and forth where we described that sort of thing in detail. There were confessions of love from both sides, and intimate revelations of other sorts. There were also plans for us to try to get together sometime soon (plans which I aborted before my wife even found out about anything, because I came to my senses about that much at least). I was lying to my wife about all of these things, and now those lies are fully exposed.

Of course, my wife is furious and terribly hurt, and she is considering ending our marriage.

I am deeply remorseful of what I've done. Right now I can barely look my wife in the eye, because I am so ashamed of myself. I think I might take my own life if I didn't know that it would only make things worse for my wife and child (for now, my child remains unaware of anything wrong, that goodness for that).

I know that I committed a terrible wrong, and I want to make amends and repair my marriage. I need advice on how to do that. I am willing to do literally whatever it takes to make things right again. I want to change myself so that I will be a better man, someone she deserves to have for a husband, instead of the lying cheater that I have proven to be.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what I can do or say to convince her that my intentions are sincere, that I truly am sorry, and that it absolutely will not happen again? Are there any of you out there who have gone through this on either end and might have some advice for what I can do now? And can anyone give me some idea on how I can work to improve myself and my own personal integrity so that this doesn't happen again?

I ask only that responders refrain from slamming me down regarding my wrongful actions - nothing that anyone can say will make me feel worse about it than I already do, so to harp on that will be pointless. Please, just tell me what I can do now. (link)
What a person who is cheated on always wonders is, "What did that person have that I didn't?"

You have to really make her feel like she is the world to you. She needs to feel worthwhile and overloved to feel assurance.

If you haven't already sat down and had a long talk about it, you need to. It'll be the hardest thing in the world, but she needs closure and so do you. Answer every question she asks you honestly.

This is a good time to lay out some goals or things you will do to better yourself. This is REALLY important. You need to find out what you're going to do to change yourself. Write out the list if you have to and share it with her. A goal has to have steps in order for it to be realistic. It can't be reached if there are no steps.

Always let her know what you're doing (without making it look like an alibi). Refrain from any shady activity that would make her think you are cheating.

Never ever fight or say anything that would hurt her feelings, because that would truly hurt her feelings and make her question if you really want to be with her.

Spend more time with her and your child. Take more walks, go to the park, go out to dinner or somewhere special. Even if she doesn't want to see you, try but don't force. Because if you don't try, it'll look like you don't care.

Getting back together is possible, but is a very long and difficult process. It will be really painful, but worthwhile in the end as long as you work for it. You seem very remorseful, just show that side to her so she knows you're honest. I will warn you, she won't forget that and those feelings will stay there forever, but you just have to show her that you really love her and truly regret it.

Good luck

I have dark brown hair and about 6weeks ago I decided to get blonde highlights.
I no longer like them and really want to go back to a dark brown all over. I don't want to have to go to the hairdressers. I have bought hair colour myself and dyed it in the past but not over highlights.
Does anyone have any advice on what I should do. The bleach isn't too blonde anymore, will it effect the colour I put on!? ie turn it pink or green where the bleach is?
(link)
I agree with the other person about buying a neutral color. Don't buy one that has warm or ash tones.

I used to have dark brown hair with blonde highlights. When I wanted to cover them up, I dyed it over with a darkest brown (almost black) dye and it got rid of the highlights for like 6 months. The problem is that they started resurfacing when summertime came and my hair was in the sun.

You'll face that problem no matter what, so just make sure you stick with shampoos/conditioners made specifically for BROWN/DARK color-treated hair. If you get shampoo/cond that jsut say they're for color treated hair (and don't specify if for blondes, redheads, brunettes), don't use them because they will bring your highlights out.

I am so clueless about shisha!
A lot of my friends do it, and they are all buying them.
Their parents don't seem to care and they are cool about it.
Some of their parents even want it?!

Now I'm not a loser, but I honestly have no idea.

-What is a shisha?
-Is it legal (I live in Europe)
-What does it do?
-Is it addictive?
-Is there anything wrong with 15/16 year olds smoking it?

Basically any info about it, but not it's history.
If you know what I mean :)

Thank you!! (link)
Shisha is flavored tobacco smoked through a hookah. It's legal in the US so I don't see why it'd be illegal in Europe, but in the US you have to be 18 to smoke it, at least in a hookah bar. The age law where you are is probably different so check it out or ask.

It's not addictive because it doesn't have nicotine. The cool part is that there are so many flavors that smell/taste pretty good. But if you are trying for the first time, don't smoke too much. You don't have to inhale it but you can if you want.

the first time I tried it, it made my head hurt REALLY bad (because it literally kills your brain cells). I only took about four puffs. The next day my throat was killing me. It felt like I had strep throat. However, I think if you are a smoker (which I'm not) you don't experience those problems.

I'm aiming to be a webdeisgner..so i joined an institute today.what i would like to know is is it advisable to d webdesigning as a full time job..how much can u earn for a month in average by being a fulltime freelance webdesigner??? please share ur experiences with me (link)
People usually do this on the side. You can't make a living off of web designing as a full-time job. Plus, it's not like most jobs where you are paid by the hour. Here, you do projects for clients, but you don't always get clients back-to-back. You really have to get yourself out there and constantly look for clients and build up your clientele. Most of it is based on word of mouth and past clients referring you. you could join a company, but sometimes they will really rip you off and take a lot of the profit.

how do i increase my metabolism or my bodys metabolic rate or watevah...fanx (link)
That actually isn't true.

There's no such thing as fat-burning foods, but there are things you can do to increase your metabolism.

Aerobics and weight training really boosts your metabolism. You may also find yourself eating more than you usually do, which is normal because your body needs more calories. Like, whenever I was playing a sport, my metabolism sped up. I ate a lot more than I did during the off-season, but it's not like it made me fat, it turned into muscle or I burned it off while running.

Eat 5-6 smaller meals a day instead of three big meals. Make sure you don't skip meals or starve yourself because that SLOWS your metabolism. Make sure you drink a lot of water.

I read somewhere that you used Bio Oil. You really think its good? How long and how often did you use it. ? . ? (link)
It really works. You see an improvement within a few days. I personally used it for stretch marks on my butt and it worked perfectly. I didn't have to use it for that long, however mine weren't that bad compared to some people. My bf had REALLY REALLY BAD stretch marks on his chest/shoulders and it worked so well(it looked like the got scratched by a bear claw I swear to God..).

You put it on everyday. On the website it says twice a day, but I guess it depends on how bad your marks really are.

Here's the site:

i had an assembly today and it was all the freshman girls. it was about respecting ourselves and how we should be happy with who we are. it really inspiried me. i want to do more. like i want to reach out to the 8th grade girls (who will be at my high school next year) and teach them all of this. maybe start a group or something. i just dont know where to start! like id like to make a website but pshh me and making websites, i dont know where to start. anyone wanna help? (link)
You should make a group online to find other people who are interested or supportive. I'm sure one of those people who are interested will know how to design websites.

If I were you, I'd definitely speak to my counselor about starting a club or reach-out group. Kind of like a mentoring group where you can visit middle schools and make presentations for the girls. In order to be recognized as a school club, you'll need enough people to sign up, so they know that there are enough students interested.

Plus, if you become a club, the school website will most likely give you a page where you can post your stuff. If not, I believe angelfire and geocities has free website hosting.

I have been smoking cigarettes since I was 15, so I have been smoking for close to 10 years. I have quit in the past but for only up to 3 months at a time. I have a very addictive personality. i really really want to quit for the following reasons: so I can be around when my child is old, so my teeth don't turn nasty, wrinkles, and so I do not get a horrible cough whenever i am sick. I really truly enjoy smoking though for a number of reasons.(yes I know its gross) I just cannot get the mentality in my head to quit for real, and I will not try the patch or gum or any of that so please do not suggest it. Is there a way to make myself stronger? I feel I am a tad weak in many areas of my life. (link)
I'm not a smoker, but from what I've been told by friends who've quit, you will still get the urges no matter what. Nicotine is no joke.

Habits can be broken, but addictions are actually substituted, with a "healthy" addiction. Every time you get that urge, replace it with another habit. Like chewing gum, maybe eating something healthy like veggies that almost resemble cigarettes so you can put them in your mouth (lol) like a carrot.

However, you might have to start out replacing with lesser bad (but not as bad as smoking) habits, like biting your nails, then work from there. Biting your nails is bad, but it's not as worse as cancer, ya know?

You can also subject yourself to areas/situations where you aren't allowed to smoke, like being in buildings where smoking isn't allowed, being around children, etc.

Most of all, stay away from places where you usually smoke because they remind you and give you urges. For instance, say you always smoke at a specific bench outside your work. Don't even walk by that way anymore. Throw away your ash trays, lighters, all of it. Try to keep an "out of sight, out of mind" complex.

I've also heard that exercise can help cut cravings.

Most of all, think about the pros and cons, and how much you are really losing. Your health, looks and financial state are at stake. I know cigarettes are an expensive waste of money, so every time you feel like buying cigarettes, think of what you COULD buy if you didn't spend it, like a shirt, food, or something else you'd much rather have. Try to keep that vain aspect in mind. Think about how you will look in the future.

Surround yourself with nonsmokers, or an encouraging friend to sort of police you and make sure you don't smoke. I know you might slip a smoke in here and there, but that's a lot better than keeping at a pack a day or something.

I couldn't understand if you meant that you already have kids or you're talking about the future. You should prioritize your child's health most of all. My mother is a big-time smoker, and my siblings and I suffered for it. We've had some health complications here and there because of it. Just think about your kids first!

One last thing, try to use a rewards system. Like, every time you fight an urge, you should reward yourself in some way.

Good luck!

How do you find a therapist and are they expensive? I don't have health insurance and I haven't been to a doctor since I was a little kid so I don't have a doctor to ask. I'm in college and I make barely enough money to buy food and pay rent. I think I'm bi-polar and I want to learn how to deal with it and handle it better - it's already ruined alot of friendships and I can't handle homework/class when I'm really low so I've already failed/dropped way too many classes because of it. If I can't afford a therapists where can I go to get diagnosed or at least someone to talk to? I'm not religious so I can't talk to anyone like that. Give me some advice :( (link)
I'm almost positive that your school has a counseling center. You should go to your school website and look for the contact info.

You can't really see a therapist if you don't have money. They're always expensive. The cheapest therapist/psychologist I've heard of is like $100 per visit. If you see a psychiatrist, they will probably charge you more plus prescriptions for medications, which is also very expensive.

Just look into your school counselor. It's not uncommon and a lot of students see their school counselor in college.

Hi there, I'm a senior in high school and I'm about to make the first big decision ever, where I want to go to college. I live in San Antonio, Texas and I got accepted to UTSA (in San Antonio) and ASU (in San Angelo about 3 hours away).

I have a scholarship (2,000) to ASU and I have no scholarship at UTSA, but I'm afraid to move 3 hours away from my parents. I'm really stuck between these two choices and I have to make up my mind soon.

So, with that being said.. if you could choose, would you go to UTSA and live with your parents? Or, would you go to ASU and be three hours away from your parents?

Thanks! (link)
Like the first person said, how badly do you need the scholarship? That's a good amount of money to help you out.

Have you visited both school's campuses? That's a really important thing when choosing a college, especially if you're going to live there. Also, look at how big the schools are. Would you rather be in a huge lecture class, or in smaller classes where you can talk to the teacher? Smaller classes are ideal if you need a lot of help.

Also take into consideration what you are studying. Who has a better or more prestigious program?

I can see that you have a close relationship with your parents, which is great. But do understand that aside from education, living away at college is a social experience. This is the only time where you get to live with lots of people your age, and be slowly introduced into the real world. You are exposed to tons of different people and have the opportunity to live on your own. If you live at home, you will be missing out on a lot, and probably won't meet as many people.

Then again, living at home saves a lot of money. The people I know who commute are people who don't really have a choice, because they have a lot of financial trouble. They most likely are working while in school.

If I were you, I'd take the scholarship and go to ASU. You can still see your parents every break or holiday.

Maybe you should write out a list of Pro's and Con's for each school, and rate how much each priority is.

Good luck!

I need to get out of swimming in my gym class.
I can't swim, and the pool is disgusting.

Any suggestions besides a doctor's note? =/ (link)
Well, you could say that you're allergic to the chlorine, or that the chlorine is giving you skin rashes.... in your "private place". That way, your teacher won't even ask to see!! Lol kind of embarassing but it'll get you out of it.

I want to apply to a really prestigious school and I think it would help if I showed some job experience. What are some jobs that I should apply for that would look awesome on my resume, but are also serious [not fast food]. Thanks so much. (link)
Try to get an office job, like as a secretary, or at a legal, dental, healthcare or insurance office/agency.

You can also try to work at a hospital or health clinic.

It might be best to get a job that pertains to your area of study. Like, if you're planning to study law, get a job at a law firm.

If you really can't get a job at those places, try working at a restaurant as a hostess (must be 16) or a waitress (must be 18).

Fast food isn't that bad, it's better than having no job experience.

Im starting the "Special K " diet.

Has anyone had experience with that?
Does it work? (link)
It kind of works, but I agree with what the other comment says. You really DO get sick of it. Plus, it's not very good for you. You don't get all the nutrients you need (vitamin, carbs, protein), which can lead to poor health and overall fatigue. Pretty much, my skin and hair got kinda bad and I was tired alll the time. They want you to buy their water and snacks, but I felt like I was eating pure sugar.

Try it and see if it works for you, but I don't think you're supposed to do it for more than two or three weeks.

15/f

i dyed my hair about a month ago to dark brown trying to get it back to a normal color because before it was like brassy and orangy. it looked good and now it's fading again. i don't know what to do my hair will not hold color for more than a month and i don't want to damage my hair even more by coloring it because i straighten it too. is there anyway to like strip the color or take the color out? or anything i can do to make it hold the color?

also i don't think i get enough protein, could that be why? because my hair won't grow either. if so do they make like protein pills or anything?

thanks for any advice! (link)
Whenever you dye your hair, you can't wash it as often. The more you wash, the more the color is washed out. Make sure you use shampoo and conditioner that is made for colored hair. You should also spray heat protective spray on your hair after you wash it, or before you style it. i use a heat protective spray made by Tresseme.

If you go to a beauty supply, they have a product that strips the color out of hair. Just ask any of the people who work there to help you. They have a product like that at Meijer too, but I believe it's only for semi-permanent dye jobs.

Your hair probably doesn't grow because you damage it by putting too much stress on it, like styling. Besides using protective sprays and shampoos, avoid overbrushing your hair. Foods like protein (meat, beans) and leafy greens also stimulate hair growth.

If you want to buy vitamins, go to GNC, meijer, or a vitamin shop. There are hair-specific vitamins you can take, vitamins that are good for hair and nails, and fish oil vitamins.

so im sick and tied of kids calling me fat, i know im not fat just could lose a few pounds.
so im 5'4 and 118 pounds. i have round hips and a pooch on my lower belly.
my arms look like man arms and my thighs touch.
i would really like to lose my pouch loase arm fat and i already have a lot of muscle on my arms, and then i would like it if my thighs did not touch and my calfs were a little slimmer. i used to be a dancer since i was very little and i was skinny then, and thats why i have a lot of muscle.
also i get a really strong motivation to work out for like a day then i give up.

so my question is how can i lose all that i would like? and how to i keep up my motivation??
PLEASE HELP:] (link)
The key is to find something you like and stick to it. You lose motivation because you haven't found something you enjoy doing, and you can't really expect it to last if you are forcing yourself to do something.

Try a bunch of things and see what you like. Since you said you used to dance, you can try cardio dance classes.

I really like aerobics classes because you don't really feel like you're working out. They're really fun and offer MANY types of classes (salsa, hip hop, working with weights and equipment, yoga, pilates).

The aerobics part can take care of your cardio. If you don't like aerobics, try running, walking, elliptical machines or biking for at least 20 minutes a day, 3-5 times a week. Make sure you are breaking up a sweat! Cardio burns the fat.

To tone up, you have to do some kind of weight lifting.

http://www.exercisetv.tv has a bunch of free video workouts, inluding cardio and weights. If you don't have dumbbells at home, try using canned goods, water bottles, etc.

If you aren't part of a gym, try your community or rec. center. Sometimes they are free, if not, the memberships are much cheaper than joining a gym. Do you have a weight room at school? those are always free and you can go after school.

Another really good tip to help with motivation is to keep a schedule. For example, going to the gym everyday after school. And something that has ALWAYS worked for me is to go with a friend. You'll have a support/buddy system that way.

What are some great work outs I can do for my lower abs, mainly? I'd rather not actually lose weight all over, because I like the erm, other assets, haha, but I'd just like to lose the bit of belly fat I've got.
Keep in mind, I don't have any workout equipment, other than a stationary bike at my Dad's house (who I see on the weekends), and a set of six pound weights.
Please try to be specific if describing any work outs, and I'd like to see results fairly quickly..

Thanks for anything! (link)
For lower abs, lie down on your back with your hands tucked under your butt. Slightly lift your shoulders off the ground (not just your neck, but your shoulders, because your neck will cramp and you won't feel the workout as much).

Keeping your legs straight and feet together, lift your legs together to 90 degrees, then lower to two inches off the ground, then repeat. For a beginner, lift from 90 degrees to 45 degrees, for intermediate, lift from 90 degrees to the ground, for advanced, go from 45 degrees to the ground.

It helps to do this in front of a mirror so you can see how much you're lifting your legs off the ground.

You can also do the same thing but instead of feet together, alternate. Like left leg up while the right leg is down, and vice versa.

ok, ive done everything to my boyfriend already but he hasnt fingered me or anything..im completely 100% ready im not nervous at all but my vagina aaalllwaaayyss has a certain smell to it like i clean my self good down there how do i like wash it good enough to smell good all day/night? sorry i know its gross but i dont know who else to ask (link)
Yes, they usually tend to smell and that's natural. It's fine to clean yourself in the shower, but don't overwash as the person below me has said. Also, do NOT douche! Your vagina naturally cleans itself, that's why you have discharge.

You can buy Summer's Eve feminine wipes at the drug store. They're basically like baby wipes, but for adult women lol. Just keep one on you and use it when you think it smells down there, or before you think you're about to do stuff with your bf.

okay, so i don't know what to but this on so here i go. i need to get my 400m time down --thats one lap around an all out sprint-- i currently have a 1min. 17.56 seconds. how do i get this down? what are some techniques? also, i'm not going to eat this whole weekend so that way i don't gain any fat weight. so am i wasting my weekend working out non stop just to get my time down?

please helpp (link)
Pleaseeee eat!!! A track runner NEEDS something in their body to burn off!! The rule is that you eat lots of protein two days before your meet, and then load up on carbs the day before and day of a meet.

Anyways, to answer your question. There are many different ways to run the 400m as it's a very technical race. You usually have to find what works for YOU.

This is the most difficult race because it's like a long-distance sprint. Don't expect yourself to be able to sprint alll out for the entire thing. It's not really possible, unless you are like Olympic level.

I didn't run this race, but there was a girl on my team who was all-state and ran it in 54 seconds (she obviously runs at the college level now lol). The way we were taught was to sprint the curves and relax on the straight away.

1) The first 100m, start the race like you would for a 100m race, and build up to about 80-85%.

2) When you get to the straightaway, the key is to MAINTAIN your speed by just relaxing your arms a bit and let your legs go along for the ride. Do NOT try to speed up or slow down on that first straightaway.

3) When you get to the next curve, you have to put in a little more speed to maintain.

4) The last 100m is obviously the hardest part of the race, and the part that you reallly have to work on. Ideally, you should sprint all out (but we all know that's very difficult to maintain) so you really have to work on this part. It's easier to run this like a 100m race and gradually build yourself up. Focus on pumping your arms and driving them back. Your arms will do the work and your legs go along for the ride.

And so the mental part of the race doesn't kill you, look BEYOND the finish line. Pretend the line is like 15m farther than it actually is. This will prevent you from slowing down before the line. You want to run straight through it to get your best time.

The only ways to get good at the 400 is to work on your endurance by running distance, and to practice your race. Try to do the steps I listed above. It may be helpful for you to write them down and read it while you're at practice.

Good luck this season!!!

Ok well I just got this HUGE cut on my foot three days ago and from the first day when I cleaned it up, I used this type of cotton that dentists put in your mouth for bleeding and put a band aid over it.

Then later when I took out the band aid and tried to take out the "cotton", it was stuck and it hurt so bad that i couldn't take it out so I used scissors and just cut out as much cotton as I could. But there's still this pretty huge piece on my skin...about slightly bigger than the mouseball from your computer mouse.

It's really gross and now it looks like it's merged or stitched into my skin and I'm terrified that it won't come out. My dad told me that something like that happened to him once and that when it starts to heal or scab, the cotton/tissue will just come out.

But then today he was looking at it and said "damn, maybe it'll be with you for your whole life...”

What should I do?! IM SCARED! And the piece is like yellow, I can’t have it here forever! it's right at the back of my heel/foot so it's visible to others! (link)
Ouchhh

I actually think you should try to take it out. If you leave the cotton in there, it can collect bacteria, and if it becomes moist, it will promote the bacteria growth. It already sounds like it's becoming bad because you said the cotton is yellow now.

In my opinion, I think the skin may being to grow over it. If you can already see skin growing over it, you should take it out immediately. Have your mom or dad take it out for you (using clean tools, like tweezers cleaned with alcohol), or go to the doctor's if it gets really bad.

Good luck!
