Ivy League Job

Question Posted Sunday April 27 2008, 2:27 pm

I want to apply to a really prestigious school and I think it would help if I showed some job experience. What are some jobs that I should apply for that would look awesome on my resume, but are also serious [not fast food]. Thanks so much.

Try to get an office job, like as a secretary, or at a legal, dental, healthcare or insurance office/agency.

You can also try to work at a hospital or health clinic.

It might be best to get a job that pertains to your area of study. Like, if you're planning to study law, get a job at a law firm.

If you really can't get a job at those places, try working at a restaurant as a hostess (must be 16) or a waitress (must be 18).

Fast food isn't that bad, it's better than having no job experience.

My dear friend,
Try for a secretarial job, a tutoring job, or a job at a prestigious store. However, don't knock fast food quite so fast. College reps like to see people that are well-rounded and work hard.
