2 weeks ago (to the day) I got grounded for acting like an idiot. I screwed up big time. I'm in trouble pretty much for saying I was at a friend's house and then leaving her house to hang out with other people. My parents were pissed beceause they couldn't find me for 2 hours. Understandable. But I have nothing. I'm not allowed on the computer (shh dont tell lol) I can't use the phone, go places, have people over, and they took my cell away. I'm going insane not being able to talk to people. They won't even tell me how long I'm grounded for. They keep saying that I'm grounded until they feel that I have proven to them that I can be let off of punishment. What exactly can I do to prove this? I've been cleaning and doing all that shit. I have a job, I'm active in sports, get decent grades. Honestly, most parents want a child like me. I mess up once in awhile, everyone does, but everytime I do they like spazz on me (usually when i mess up tho its pretty bad..) I just want to frikin be able to do something! i feel like i'm in prison except its worse because i have no one to talk to, i cant go outside, and i have no phone privilages. I'm going crazy!

urgh! Parents. the worst! But you can get past it. Cleaning and warming up to them and all that is fine. The best thing right now is to be gooooood all day and by the end of the day, or at any point of the day when both parents have the time to be sat aside, talk to them. Apologize sincerely, list your faults (KNOW WHAT TO SAY!), give reason in why you should be ungrounded, tell them you've learned your lesson and tell them exactly what you WILL do next time. Explain you understand how terribly wrong you were and that if they think 2-3 more days is necesary you can understand that, just remember stay calm and dont let it turn into a fight, tell them you understand the factors of responsibility. Use big words, offer to do some chores, apologize.

Hey. I thank everyone in advance. I'm an advice columnist on here, but I need advice.

Here's my problem:
I used to be BEST FRIENDS with this girl, Nicole. We used to do everything together - camping, swimming, movies, ext. About 8 months ago - we got in a huge fight, and ended our friendship. It was entirely my fault. About 4 months ago - we started talking again. She said she forgave me, and that we could still be friends. Since then - we've talked about 10 times. The problem is: I really miss her being around. Everyone in my family says they want her and I to be friends again. What should I do? Do I call her, or IM her more? Or should I just forget about it? Ash- sounds pretty bad. But anyway theres always hope for every problem. Invite her to do more things with you. Invite her to sleep over some time soon, a date where you are completely free, explain to her all your faults that you realize. Tell her whats been going on with you lately and ask her whats been going on with her. Draw closer slowly but surely. Keep on making efforts to be around her, slowly you guys will become close again.

Girl your madly in love. My best advice for you sweetie is to go for it. You guys sound like you totally click. I would try saying something online. Just ask him how he feels about you, and ask for the absolute truth. Tell him exactly how you feel and how long you've felt it and how you think hes a great guy. Then, after you tell him, call him on the phone. Chat for a while. This way when you see eachother in person, it wont feel wierd, and atleast you will have talked it out.

You need to respect your body and whos to say if after you had sex you could break up with your bf or he could suddenly dump you? Would you want that humiliation. Youd regret it. And the best part about married sex is you know your committed and your not going to regret it because you've already made the promise to be true to your husband. Plus, think of how good that'll make him feel if he finds out that you've saved your body just for him, he'll feel so good and realize how much you love him. whats the best way to get a babysitting job?

Advertise in the paper, recommend yourself to other people, leave fliers in the mailboxes in your neighborhood, specifically houses near you so that you could get there by walking or your bike real easy, have your parents or siblings get the word out with you, or if you have any friends that have certain jobs tell them if you ever cant make it, let me know, Ill fill for ya. sounds like hes treating you like absolute crap. Tell him your sorry but between him and his friends, they all have your head spinning like crazy. Apologize to him but make sure he treats you right. If infact he keeps on doing mean things like that, you need to stay away from him sweetie. He wont be good for you or your life in any way. But i wouldnt abandon him just yet, just make sure you go ahead and dont let him treat you like trash. He sounds like he has some anger problems.

I don't really do that well on tests and I try an study an hour the night before tests. What are some things to help me score higher on tests?

ask your mom for a tutor. Hopefully you can see this person once or twice a week. Express to her or one of your parents how important this could be on your life. If you cant pay for it or the whole tutor thing doesnt work, ask a smart person to help you... particularly a successful friend. Do you understand? Also.. when you struggle with one of your lessons in school, go at lunch, get some extra help. Study more than 1 hour for the topics you struggle with. And whatever you do DO NOT just study the night before your test, break up the studying if you have a weeks notice about the test, spend a half an hour a night just packing information into your brain. If its math, practice the problems, look in your text books, study techniques. Also, use index cards! Theyre great and its good to study with a friend. Use all of the above tips and i promise grade improvements...
