Is there anyone out there with a medical background that could come up with an off the record probable prognosis or at least some educated advice rather than random common sense comments?

well. depending on the question, There are plenty of things that I do know of as facts. I learn from my mom who learned from my uncle who is a paramedic and plus she's had five kids (she's been to the doctors offices more times than you could imagine), so you name it and somebody's had it. She also has medical books laying around, but she knows most of it... which she tells everyone all the time.

basically I do know a lot about more common ailments, but when it comes to like specific diseases I have recommendations of credible sources.

as for people on this site with first hand professional training, I really don't know.

Okay, so my friend and I are going to do a song for our school talent show. Though at the moment we are thinking of doing the song "Twist and Shout" though, I was wondering if their were any other songs that people would find entertaining that are made for two people. Because "Twist and Shout" isn't exactly a two person song.

Also If it matters, we are 14 and both girls. and not songs that are too terribly high pitched.

Nobody ever likes the way their butt looks.
But if your set on building it up, try something like bike riding. or the bicycle machines, and set a high resistance, and do it for only around ten minutes a day, every other day for a while.
(eat something with carbs before starting, but not too much.) You'll get a big butt, and it won't be all flabby and fatty. People'll be jealous.

There's really nothing that will give you immediate results. You can look at certain vitamins, I want to say vitamin B12, but I might be wrong, that will stunt it, but It will still take a while.

Also, work out your brain more often.
Your brain's a muscle, and hair on top of muscles that are constantly working grow faster than if the muscle is more dormant. which explains why the hair on say, your calves grows much faster than on the top of your legs, because your calf is used when moving your ankle when walking. (more strenuous than the work your thighs do)
so, yeah, pick up a puzzle book or riddles or something, again, it wont be noticably faster, but faster indeed.

OK, well I have a really bad wind problem. I am a vegetarian and my main staple foods are things such as pasta, bread, cheese, most vegetables but not really beans or peas. I don't just break wind at certain times, its all the time. I try to hold it in but eventually I just have to let it go. It's really embarassing in public and I don't know how to stop it.

Does anyone know any foodstuffs that may help or anything that I should cut out of my diet. Please only answer if you're sure of your information, and if possible give web references so I can check as I don't want it to get worse.

veggies like brocolli will cause this problem. and veggies are tasty I know. (I'm not being sarcastic, I really do like veggies a lot. so I know this problem) I think its.. things with a lot of fiber that mainly cause this problem.

but to not change your diet, you can eat small meals, more often. thats what nutritionists say you should do anyway. but It would be more beneficial in a case like yours. They say that five meals a day is sufficient and better than the whole three square meals thing. But this would help you because when there's a lot of food in your stomach, there's more digesting going on, which emits gasses. and with more food in your system there's less room for the gas, hence, it has to leave. with less food in your stomach, there will be less gasses made, and when there is less gas, it tends to rise and/or absorb.

There's tabs on the left of the window. click the one that says "IMs and Chats" in there you can click check boxes that say "override name colors" or "override buddy font settings" then the drop box at the bottom will light up so you can click in it
select what you want to change and click the colored square next to it, and choose a color you want.

You can also play around with things in this window to change like the transparancy of your buddy list and such, its pretty easy to use, just look around

OK, i am kind of short, like 5'1 or something(if that much) and i weigh 95 pounds. I know that's not overweight, but i have this stupid little pouch thingy and it makes me feel fat. How do i get rid of that wothout dramatic weight loss? Just exercise?

Darling. I'm 5'1 and about twenty pounds heavier and I'm not fat, Not muscular either. no way. but my point is, EVERYONE has that little pouch. Its healthy, and basically the only way to get rid of it is to get a six pack or be anorexic. I'M NOT SAYING DONT EAT. that would be bad.
Honestly, I talk to my guy friends ALL the time about things like that and They think its cute, not a HUGE one, but a small pouch is cute, so they think. Idk. I don't understand that either, but they like it, I'm not complaining cause its less work for people like me.
but If you're REALLY set on getting rid of it, you're into a lot of working out. I mean like, daily crunches, and weight training. Doing sit ups on an incline board will excelerate results. and Cockroaches, ugh, I hate doing roaches. they're when you lay on your back and pick up both your shoulders and your legs off the ground at the same time. They work though.
Or do Six Inches. lay flat on your back and lift your feet so theyre about six inches from the floor and just hold them there by yourself.

I feel different. I feel hurt. Sometimes I don't want to get up and things seem to be getting harder. And other times I feel like someone should beat the shit out of me just for feeling this way. I feel like a hypocrite. I feel selfish. Nothing helps anymore. Going to shows don't seem to help. Hanging out doesn't seem to help. I don't know what to do. Or who to talk to.

I would definately have to agree with the previous answer about a diet change. Not necessarily the whole no fats count the carbs thing, but just healthier. balanced.
Veggies, cooked in olive oil with some chicken, served over steamed rice. its a balanced meal, maybe something different... ask your friends, or your friends parents what their favorite healthy dinners are. Try eating some if its not something that you normally have. and finish with a small desert. (chocolate, chocolate releases endorphins[your brain's happy signals] Don't know why but it does. Red wine does too, but only if your old enough or if your parents approve.) also different kinds of fruit, like Kiwi. or bananas with peanut butter. I think I read somewhere that peanut butter also releases endorphins.

and so does exercising. Try finding something active that you like. Whether its going to a gym, picking up something along the pilates/yoga lines, aerobics, bike riding, skateboarding, Dance, Rock climbing, ect.

For some people Reading works too... I don't normally recommend it just based on the fact that I think its boring. but It might work for you

and, also, your school guidence counselor or nurse can give you TONS more ideas.

put baking soda in your shoes. Its a cheap odor eater. and it works well.

I`m getting my hair cut soon & i want a neat idea. My hair is plain, dirty blonde, and about to my shoulders with some layers. And my part is like, always down the middle.

a heart-shaped face... I'd go with (sorry I don't have good pictures) some bangs to frame your face. somewhat long, maybe to the bottom of your ear.
Or angled from the corner of your eye to the base of your ear, that would look nice.
Since you said your hair is normally parted in the middle, I wouldn't do the Trendy Push-all-my-bangs-to-one-side thing. just because I tried it, and it really did not look right, because my hair naturally falls to either side of the center part, cause thats how it was my whole life.

Also, Long layers add nice volume.

Hello! I have a big stye on my eyelid. I've had it for about 3 days, and I went to the doctor for yearly physical the first day it started. They said it should be gone in about a week. My question is will it stay longer if I am around allergens, and anything that can irritate it? Is there anything that can make it go away faster ( I've been warm-water compressing it)?

Pretty much, the allergens will only effect it if you keep rubbing it. The compresses will help you a lot, just aviod scratching at it.

okay i know that im pretty. but it only really shows when i get back from school (like for some weird reason i look best after school then when i did in it) and in the summer. i have wavy blonde hair and blue eyes and im skinny. i have a rash thing tho on my arm that i so need to get rid of. I have scoliosis in my upper back and I have torn ligaments there as well. It have gone to physical therapy for my upper back and everything is running smoothly again. But now, something is wrong with my lower back. I actually think I pulled a muscle and it's KILLING ME!!! I can barely stand and it's hard to focus in class because it hurts so bad. I have tried alternating ice and warmth on it but it doesn't work. I take three aleve every morning and it doesn't work. Does anyone have any other quick fixes for back pain? Anything OTHER than a doctor's appointment perhaps? (I'm not stupid lol I know I can go there if nothing helps.)

I also have scoliosis. And I sympathise, It hurts like a bitch sometimes. Um, ice won't get you far, it'll make you stiff. Heat, little bits at a time can loosen tightened muscles around your spine. it helps a little. but try taking ibuprophen (Motrin or Advil) when it hurts. and work on strengthening your stomach muscles. because my doctor told me that if you use your abs it takes up to a third of the pressure off of your back. (which will help A LOT in the long run)

Hey everyone.

Well our choir instructor wants us to do a bunch of fundraising. The thing is the stuff that he picks is very boring and typical that we don't want to do it and he gets mad about it.

Like bottle and can drives and selling cookie dough and such.

Does anyone have some good and FUN fundraising we can do?

We do bake sales.. a lot. Which are a lot of fun because they eat up time on a lazy weekend afternoon. and You spend it bonding with the people in your choir.
Also if its warm enough, Bake Sale/car wash mixes gather a lot of money. Just make sure you advertise it a good two weeks in advance.
