Question Posted Thursday March 8 2007, 3:10 pm

Hello! I have a big stye on my eyelid. I've had it for about 3 days, and I went to the doctor for yearly physical the first day it started. They said it should be gone in about a week. My question is will it stay longer if I am around allergens, and anything that can irritate it? Is there anything that can make it go away faster ( I've been warm-water compressing it)?

Pretty much, the allergens will only effect it if you keep rubbing it. The compresses will help you a lot, just aviod scratching at it.

Good Luck

Hey. I recently had a stye and the way I got it to go away the fastest was to not wear eyeliner on that eye and hot compresses all throughout the day.

I dont think allergens trigger styes. Try putting a cold tea bag on your eye, or something cold, because cold water reduces swelling.
