Ok, so this may sound lame but I really need to know this. How old do you have to be to get a job at HOLLISTER, ABERCROMBIE&FITCH, RUEHL or abercrombie. I hear the have real good salaries but I've never asked how old you need to be to be able to work there. Also they say on their website that you send in a resume. What should it look like? Is there any sites with examples of one and help on how to make one? Please answer! (link)

If you search google for "free resume builder", it will help you. Also, Microsoft Word has a resume builder. You just input your experience or skills and it pretty much does everything for you. Make it as professional looking as possible. Also you have to be at least 16 to work at the mall, which is where most of these stores are. They might require you to be 18. Just call and ask them, you don't have to give your name or anything so it's no big deal - and then you'd get the for sure answer, not just one from some advice columnist! :) Good luck.

Hi i am looking for a good job where you sit on a computer a type all day and get good pay. All my friends say accountant is that job but i dont know so whats a good job for that. heres some jobs people have told me.

Medical Transcriptionists sit at home and type all day. Not sure if that's something you are interested in.
Data entry is an easy job where you type all day. You have to be able to type super fast, so if you can't then I suggest you start working on that. Mavis Beacon is a good program for that. Taught me how to type pretty fast and accurately. Usually the place will just have you do a quick test and will mark your speed and accuracy. If it's good, they'll hire you. It's pretty simple if they are looking for employees. Good luck.

Alright well I'm 15/f & if this is helpful live in the midsouth area.
I turn 16 in about 8 months and I am trying to save up for a car.
I can't really get an official job like for example working at a clothes store for a few reasons but the top one is I am not 16. I know I could get a work permit but it is also hard to get hired when your 15. Anyway so 3 questions I am asking... 1) Are there any jobs I could more easily get without so much hassle for the employers? 2) What are some other things I could do & how would I get people to know about it? 3) How are some efficient ways I could save up?

I know you want a "real" job, but babysitting is a fun and quick way to earn some cash. Lots of parents are happy to hire a 15 year old. Make up fliers and stuff and you will get lots of business. Offer to babysit for "parents night out" and remind the parents that they need time to themselves too!
If that isn't an option, try resale shops or thrift stores. They will usually hire someone under 16. I'm not sure how your area works, but here the McDonald's and other fast food restaurants hire a certain number of 15 year olds as long as they have a work permit. In order to work, you have to go through the hassle of getting a work permit. It's well worth it. Also, Six Flags (I don't know if you have one near you?) hires a LOT of 15 year olds. My friend's daughter just got hired there.
Good luck, and remember that there's babysitting, mowing lawns, dog walking, etc. if you can't get a "real" job.

How old are you? What type of job are you looking for? A job at a fast-food type place, a secretary type job, etc? What experience do you have? Are you male or female? Do you have nice clothes to get to a nice job? If you can answer some of those questions I can help you better. Also, do you know anything about computers? How to work Word, Excel, etc? Do you have your diploma or GED or any college experience?

Talk About Teenage Drama ! Here's my problem .. i've always been right on time for my period, and it's now been about two weeks since i missed it. I'm only 16 and have been in D.S.S since i was 12. I've gotten into plenty of trouble in the home i'm staying at ( been there 3 years. They actually took guardianship of me ). Now I love my boyfriend very much and i think if i am pregnant then we'd be as ready as we could be but i have a big worry in my head! if i am in fact pregnant, i'm pretty sure i would be kicked out of my house and i don't want to be pregnant in a foster home. So here is my fill of questions:
Would D.S.S take my baby?? Would it be a possiblity to live with my boyfriend and his parents? would they try to keep me away from the father of my child?

I'm not sure about the laws in your state, but here in Missouri I was emancipated as soon as I got pregnant. I was 15. I was my own guardian from that point on. I actually got married which is what saved my butt from juvenile (long story). Moving in with your boyfriend's parents is probably a better idea than staying in foster care - because they will try and take your baby if you have him/her and are living in a foster care home. Make sure you get excellent prenatal care if you are pregnant. Don't miss any appointments because they can use that against you if they do decide to try and take your baby. Get a job if possible, and make sure your boyfriend has a job. Make the environment you are living in as clean and stable as possible. Stay in school or take GED classes. Don't drop out completely. Good luck. Don't worry too much take a pregnancy test and if you are pregnant, take it from there.

me and my boyfriend are expecting a baby in february. we are obviously not married- but im wondering if when it comes, will it obtain my last name or his?- i was thnking itd have to be mine- since hes not really my spouse- but is there any way can request that it has his last name if needed? (link)

I'm not sure if the law is the same in all of the states, but here in Missouri you can name your baby whatever you want. It can have your last name, his last name, a combination of both, or one you make up. I was born in Texas (this was a while back), and since my parents weren't married I *had* to have my dad's last name. They might have changed that since then, but I'd just call the hospital and ask. (Ask for labor and delivery, and then ask someone in that department about the last name issue.)
I wouldn't give my baby my boyfriend's last name, just speaking from past experience. If anything, put both of your last names on there. Maybe hyphenate it. It's a huge hassle to change a baby's last name - and if you and your boyfriend break up, or he wants nothing to do with the baby, you're stuck with a constant reminder because your child has his last name. Not to scare you or anything I'm just saying think of all the options. :)

www.birthright.org can help you with pregnancy-related things. They can also help you get a crib and baby clothes when your baby gets here. Sign up for state health insurance. Here in Missouri it's called Medicaid. They take a bunch of information from you and you're approved automatically as long as you don't make too much. I'm assuming since you're on your own you don't. I hope this helps, prenatal care is VERY important. Go buy some prenatal vitamins from Wal-Mart. A bottle lasts a while and it's only like $6. Take 2 a day unless it says otherwise on the bottle. That will help a lot until you can get prenatal care. Good luck.

My 17 year old daughter quit school, does not have a job--and does NOTHING around the house. She
does have money in savings which she has been blowing like crazy, but that's almost gone now. She lied to me about last night, said she stayed at a friends to babysit younger siblings, and I found out differently. The friends Mom doesn't even care that our daughters weren't there, so she is not much help. I don't know where my daughter is right now. When she comes home, I am going to tell her she cannot stay anywhere from now on. (she did this one other time and was grounded) I am prepared for a big fight from her, and she will probably leave without my permission. I am going to tell her that I will report her as a runaway.
However, then I have no clue what will happen next (if I get the law involved)
She might turn the story on me and say she is abused. (Which of course she is not) but she plays the role of the victim well, and threatened to call CPS another time when I put my foot down.
Her BF is 19 and lives in a bordering state, but is it against the law if he takes her across state lines? She is (17) and other people seem to think that would not be against the law because she is over 16.
So my questions are.
Is a relationship between a 17 yr old and 19 yr old legal?
What happens when a 17 yr old is reported as a run away?
Does CPS automatically believe a teenager who plays the victim?

This all depends on what state you are in. I think 17 is the legal age in most states. As far as running away, the officials will most likely do nothing. I was almost 16 when I ran away and the only reason they were going to do something is because my mom kept pestering them. The officials don't care so much when they are older teens.
One thing I did learn is that CPS doesn't believe the teenagers. At least not in my case. I was the one trying to play the "poor victim" and say I ran away because my mother was abusive. Of course she really wasn't, but at that time I was a selfish teenager and decided to try it. I didn't care who I was hurting. Let her call CPS, they most likely won't do anything.
I would put her on birth control if she isn't already. This behavior is not good.. but her getting pregnant would be even worse. I know that's off topic, but I got pregnant at 15 so I know..
And last but not least, in most states a relationship between a 17 and 19 year old is legal. I know this isn't good news to you, but honestly there isn't much you can do here but put your foot down. Tell her if she's going to run away she had better pack all of her stuff because the door will be LOCKED when she tries to come back. You don't really have to lock her out but it will get her thinking. When she leaves, you should call the authorities and let them know she has run away. Give them all the information you can. They can take it from there if they so choose. If not, at least your rear is covered.
I'm sorry you're having to go through this. One day she will look back on it and realize how selfish and ignorant she was. Hopefully that day isn't too far off. Good luck.

My Mom and my Dad havent been on talking terms since i was 5, and my mom somehow blames it on me. She acts like i have owe my entire life to her, where as she doesnt even treat me right, being only 19 now, i really dont know how to deal with her. She is unhappy because of my Father who doesnt care about her, cos she hasnt been the best wife to him, since she keeps bitching about my father to every second person she meets, she says shes unhappy cos of him and blames everyone else for all her mistakes and refuses to accept the truth. She makes the silliest things into the biggest issues ever and makes my life living hell. She blames her missery on everyone around her, and she doesnt realise that shes making herself miserable. She needs help and refuses to go see a shrink. I really dont know what to do.. It's driving me insane. I've tried talking to her and telling her how i feel but she doesnt seem to be botherd.

First of all, I'm sorry you have such a selfish and insensitive mother. Second of all, your dad loves you very much (your mom does too, she just doesn't know how to show it) and you don't need to die. If your mother isn't ready to grow up and actually show that she cares, maybe the best thing would be to distance yourself from her. Try talking to her one more time and just let her know that you can't deal with this stress. She is the mom and she needs to stop blaming things on other people. Tell her it's time to take responsibility for HER mistakes, not blame them on you. If that doesn't work.. like I said, just distance yourself from her as much as possible. Good luck.

It made me really really mad. *&& said something about an escort [[yeah I know what that means]] it really hurts me. I understand that you really want to confront your parents about this, but maybe it's not the best thing. Seeing as you just got grounded from myspace maybe you should let things cool off. I'm going to give some bad advice here... maybe you can email your mom. Tell her about it in an email, and tell her it was a total accident but it really made you mad and hurt your feelings. You might still get grounded but at least it will be in a less confrontational way... Okay, bad advice. Don't listen to that.... *whistles and walks away*..

I don't think abortion is ever the right answer. If you go to Planned Parenthood or Birthright (they both have websites, try www.birthright.org), they will help. They are nonjudgemental and will give you a free pregnancy test. Good luck and hopefully your friend chooses LIFE. I did, and I'm so glad.. every day I am reminded.

Hi. I'm 15, I've never had a boyfriend, a kiss, really anything from a guy. I'm fat, but I'm pretty. I have about 5 closeclose guy friends, that I get occasional hugs from, but it's not enough. I want a boyfriend, or even just a guy to like me (we dont have to be going out). I feel like a failure. So what, I'm fat? I know that's all guys look for, and I know alot of you are going to say, "You don't need a boyfriend!" or "You're still young!". But I'm going into 10th grade, and still so out of it. I was almost 16 before I got my first boyfriend. He was my first kiss, and I also slept with him. I regret it for the most part... I rushed into it too quickly because I had been "left out" for so long. I am sure you know what I mean. Honestly, you can't force anyone to like you. Stop looking and someone will find you. Good luck, and remember that you are pretty.. it's wonderful that you realize that. Most girls (boyfriend or not) can't realize it. Just keep your chin up, stay positive, have great self-esteem on the inside and out, and you will find someone that likes you for YOU!

How often should I change my razor? I have the pink venus and I shave like 3 times a week. Four at teh most, 2 at the least. But in the winter, I only shave like once a week, sometimes two. So how often should I change it? (link)

It all depends on A)your age, B)where you live, and C)what your parents decide to do about it. Here in Missouri, I was 15 and ran away. My mother was going to press charges and they were going to lock me up in juvenile detention for 30 days. I'm sure there are states that are easier and harder on teens in this situation.
My advice: Do not run away. Whatever the problem is, there is another answer!

Apparently I'm too sarcastic and sometimes people don't appreciate it. They think I don't take things seriously and I make other feel bad. But people say and do some stupid things and they deserve some sarcasm. I love sarcastic people, they're funny (I'm not saying I think I'm funny; I think others are). Anyway, I'm having a hard time cutting down on the sarcasm, possibly because I don't even realize that I am being sarcastic, it just comes out. Any help? (link)

It's just your personality. People will either learn to appreciate it or move on. I'm naturally sarcastic as well, and some people see me as uncaring when I'm really not. Just let people know that is how you are. "Take me or leave me."

They are from tanning. If you go to a tanning salon, they have these little hearts or playboy bunnies or whatever and you lay them on your stomach (or wherever) and it stays as white as your skin while the rest of your body tans.
