What would you say are some classic books that no-one should go without reading? I recently bought The Count of Monte Cristo, any other suggestions?
thanks :) (link)

John Steinbeck: In Dubious Battle, The Grapes of Wrath, The Wayward Bus, etc.
I didn't care for Travels with Charlie, but except for that, (which is probably just me anyway), anything by Steinbeck is good.

Ever since i was little i would always have bad stomach aches i would go to the doctor and they would say it was just cause i was nervous or something now im 15 and i still get those stomach aches and the urge to wanna throw up . I dont know why but it just happens and my mother thinks its because something is stressing me or im nervous about something and its all in my head. She even told me to stop thinking about my stomache hurting and it will go away but it never does . I miss alot of school because of it . Please I need Help ! What Should I Do? Should I Do Some Type Of Excercises To Help Me? Could It Be Stress?
P.S. I am NOT sexually active. (link)

Your situation sounds similar to mine. If you haven't been checked by a doctor, you should be...
- It's common to have both a Colonoscopy (scope sent up your behind) and an Endoscopy (scope sent down your throat) to check things out. They drug you for both, so you're not aware of what's going on.
- Speaking from experience, an ulcer can make you stomach sick, especially in the morning. Dry heaves are common. Foods can also affect how your stomach feels. I did a 12 week course of Carafate and it made a world of difference.
- The Colonoscopy would be checking for things like polyps & diverticulitis. Diarrhea is common in colon difficulties, so is a lower (below the belt) dull ache that can worsen depending on a few things. Avoid nuts, things with seeds, etc.
There are so many things in addition to the good old standby of "it must be stress" that you really need to be medically evaluated.
I hope that this helps, and that this problem is resolved for you very soon. I know that it's no fun.

Hello everyone,
I have a question about a website I am setting up. In it, I display a model that I built in Word and then converted to a jpg.
You can see it here:
http://www.knowledge-management-tools.net/knowledge-management-model.html
Now, the model displays pretty much perfectly when viewed in Internet Explorer and horribly in Firefox (the writing is very unclear).
I am at a loss. I tried all manner of resolutions, different picture formats (in fact the current incarnation may not even be a jpg - however they all display the same), converting the image in different programs, etc. No matter what, I cannot get it to display legibly in Firefox yet it always displays well in IE.
My hatred towards Microsoft products is in danger of being shattered :)
Any help is very much appreciated. (link)
|
I did a little checking on my Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit system with both Firefox 3.6.13 and Internet Explorer 8x installed.
- As you said, the image displays fine in IE, but is pretty bad in Firefox.
- I saved the image from the website, and opened the local file in both browsers with the same result.
- I opened the image in Corel PSP Pro Photo X2, and saved it as a .JPG. The result was the same.
- I opened the file in Faststone Image Viewer and checked the file specs:
4958 x 7017 : 34.79 MP : 2.00 MB
- That is quite a large file! I think that the issue is with good ol' Firefox, which doesn't know how to correctly scale. (I love Firefox, but have run into a couple things that it just doesn't do very well.)
- I opened the file in Corel PSP Pro Photo X2, resized it to 1280 x 1817 pixels. I opened the file again in both browsers, and this time it looked ok in Firefox.
You want to experiment with the best size for the image, or try a slightly different code that may help Firefox do what it's supposed to.
Try something like this, (adjusting the size as necessary):
EDIT: This site is messing up the string that I pasted in. Here is the txt of the full, unbroken text:
http://www.homepage.marknet.us/Image.Size.Code.txt
I hope that helps!

I have a bunch of old newspapers in a box I've kept. At first I had them because I had a bird and I lined his cage with the old newspaper. He passed away two months ago and I don't really want to just toss out the papers. What can I do with the old newspapers? I mean, are they of any use or should I just chuck them out the door and into the garbage can? I'd just like to reuse them for something... (link)
|
First, I didn't make these up. So with that said, here we go:
1. Painting Mask
Cut sheets of newspapers and use painter's tape to cover windows when you paint. When you're done, simply remove the paper and discard it!
2. Inexpensive Wrapping Paper
Wrap birthday gifts with old newspaper! You can even cut thin strips to make a bow too!
3. Quick 'n Easy Clean Up
Lay folded newspaper on your counter or table before you cut up messy fruits or vegetables.
Once done, just fold up and throw away!
4. Picnic Table Cloth
Tape down sheets of newspaper on your picnic table so it can collect spills, drips, et cetera. Rip it up and throw it away when you're done!
5. Floor Covers
Place several folded sheets of old newspaper on the floors of your vehicle. It will absorb water and help keep mud and dirt off the carpet!
6. Ripen Tomatoes
Wrap green tomatoes in sheets of newspaper. Then, layer them in a box and close the lid. Check on them every couple days, and they will eventually ripen up to a rosy red color!
7. Fruit and Vegetable Drawer Liner
Place sheets of newspaper in the fruit and vegetable drawer in your refrigerator. Not only will the paper catch messes from rotted produce, but it will also keep the drawer free from odors.
8. Sleep Outside Better
Place several sheets of newspaper underneath your sleeping bag when you sleep under the stars. The newspaper will keep your bag dry, free from dirt and grass stains, and provide a warm padding.
9. Fireplace Logs
Roll old newspapers up and tie them tightly with string. Then, use them in your fireplace as makeshift logs. Each one burns for awhile, and doing this will save on wood.
10. Make A Funnel
Roll up a newspaper to make a paper funnel. It's best used for dry goods, but it can hold up to water for awhile.
11. Table Padding
Place several sheets of old newspaper on your kitchen or dining room table. Then, place a tablecloth over them. The newspaper will take the place of an expensive padding. It will protect your table top from spills and other damage.
12. Shoe and Boot Mat
Place a folded up newspaper beside the door and place wet and muddy boots on it. It will keep the mud contained.
13. Garden Mulch
Use newspapers as mulch in your fruit, vegetable, or flower garden. Simply cut a hole in the middle of each sheet and slide it over the plant. It will keep weeds down and hold water too!
14. Makeshift Umbrella
Get caught in a rain storm? Use a newspaper to cover your head and shoulders until you reach shelter.
15. Packing
Shred and use newspaper as inexpensive packing when you send fragile items through the mail.
16. Stinky Tennis Shoes?
Crumple up balls of old newspaper and stuff them in your shoes to remove the odors. Let sit overnight, then remove and discard.
17. Window Cleaner
Use vinegar and water and old newspapers to clean windows and mirrors. The combination will make your glass shine and leave it lint free too!
18. Shelf Lining
Use old newspapers to line your cabinet, dresser, pantry, or bathroom shelves. They're cheap to use and easy to put in and remove!
19. Litter Box Liners
Place newspapers in the bottom of your cat's box. You'll use less litter, and they'll absorb odors and wetness too!
20. Cooler Deodorizer
Place several crumpled up balls of newspaper in coolers you're storing for the winter. They'll help to keep the inside of the coolers smelling fresh!
21. Grill Cleaner
Soak newspapers in clean water. Then, lay the sheets across a warm barbecue grill. Close the lid and let them soak for an hour or so. Then, remove the papers and wipe the grills clean!
22. Fire Starters
Use strips of old newspaper to start a bon fire, charcoal grill, camp fire, et cetera.
23. Paper Dolls
Fold several sheets of newspapers just to a thickness you can cut through with a pair of scissors. Then, cut out dolls and unfold the sheets. You'll have connected paper dolls!
24. Hat Shapers
Before you store a hat away in a closet, fill it with newspaper. The newspaper will help it to retain its shape so it doesn't get flat.
25. Cheap Rags
Use old newspaper as rags in your garage to wipe your greasy hands on, to wipe off paint brushes, to wipe up oil spills, and to clean up gasoline spills!

Well for some reason my iTunes is only playing certain songs. SInce limewire is no longer an option i have used this u-tube converter. it has worked great and all the songs play in my iTunes. But ever since lastnit my iTunes is only playing the songs that were done in limewire and are not playing the ones if used this utube converter site for. This has worked before for many months. so did i press a button on my laptop that for some reason enabled me to play the converted onesÉ My laptop is Vista if that helps. This is very fustrating because i dont know why all of a sudden they are not working and it is alot of songs. Please help if you have any idea why this is happening or if you have been in the same situation! thanks so much! (link)

Yup, this sure sounds like it would be frustrating!
I haven't run into a situation such as this, but have some general thoughts that may prove to be of value.
I prefer the free SharePod over iTunes, in fact, have two devices and don't even have iTunes installed. With that in mind, here is some stuff to think about:
- Assuming that you have monitoring enabled, you might try doing a restore point to a time before it broke. If it worked yesterday, restore to the day before yesterday, for example.
- I'm not sure how iTunes works, it may have built-in codecs handle playback. (It probably does.) Just in case, you might want to remove and install the most current version of whatever codec pack you use and see if that helps.)
- Are all the files of a standard format, MP3 for example? You might take a file or two that IS NOT playing and run it through dbPowerAmp or even Windows Media Player to be sure that they're in the standard and expected format. Try playing those files again and see if they work now or not.
- Can you play the problem files in another application such as Windows Media Player, Foobar or whatever you prefer? If they work in other software, then you're probably looking at a specific issue with iTunes, (which wouldn't be a huge surprise.)
- Try going into Control Panel, Add Remove Programs and see if there is an option to repair the installation. It would almost certainly be the "Change" button that you want, then work your way though what should be obvious choices.
- If that doesn't do the trick, you may want to remove and reinstall iTunes. Again, not being familiar with the software, a full removal and reinstall might require some-to-extensive rebuilding of your library, preferences, etc.
In a nutshell, if the music plays in other application but not iTunes, it's an iTunes issue.
If the music does NOT play in iTunes OR other apps either, then you're looking at a problem with the codecs installed on your system or with the files themselves. Re-encoding, testing having been done, will help verify this.
I hope this helps, good luck with it!
Happy New Year!

I have a hotmail account and i would like to know what it takes to find some one in Denmark that is on the help line that will help people and stop wasting our time. 3 months ago my hotmail went down, it took a month before it was working again and nearly cost me 400 kr in telephone calls, i also felt that’s some of the staff thought it was all a big joke. Now my hotmail went down again last Friday 24.12.2010 its now 31.12.2010. I have spoken to 4 people, they have all told me something different, and im no wiser, each phone call has been around 2o minutes to half a hour. Is there anyone one can contact for some positive help. (link)

I'm not sure that this is as direct a response to your question as you might have expected, but unless I'm missing something, this is the general situation.
(It should be noted that I'm not at all familiar with how Internet Service is provided in other countries, but would assume that it would follow the general practices and processes.)
When you find that you can't get your email through Hotmail, try this troubleshooting:
: Hotmail is web-based. I wouldn't expect an individual account to go down and server failures aren't particularly likely with a large provider such as this. There would be fall-back servers, etc.
I think that you should look at the client aspect of the problem, meaning the setup on YOUR side.
: Are you going to the Hotmail site and logging in there to read and send email?
If so, how are things in general? Were you able to navigate to and through the site in a reasonable amount of time? Is it possible that you have a spyware / virus problem that is causing trouble that is most evidenced in your attempts to use Hotmail?
Again, I don't know what's available to you in Denmark, or if the online scanners work, etc. Assuming that they do, try Googling 'Eset Online Scan' and give that a go. (Unless you have their NOD32 client installed, then it wouldn't be necessary.)
Do a general tuneup of your computer. Clear temp and browser cache files, right click on your NIC and choose Repair, which will flush the DNS resolver cache, ARP table and other useful stuff.
Try a different browser. If you're using Internet Explorer, try Firefox. If you're using Firfox, try Internet Explorer, at least for testing.
You'd be surprised at how much the simple things can help....
If you leave your computer running all the time, do a nightly RESTART, which will still leave it up and running when you want to use it, but will help free the memory from the days's use, clear temp files, etc.
Depending on how you connect and what you equipment you have:
- power down the modem / cable modem / dsl modem
- power down the router
- power down the computer
- Wait at least 5 minutes
- power ON the router, then modem and wait until it's all up and fully initialized
- power on the computer
: If you are using an email client to retrieve your email, (Thunderbird, Outlook-Outlook Express, etc.), try going directly to the Hotmail website and checking to see if you can get your email there.
If you CAN send & receive, you should look at reconfiguring your email client. You might Google for information on how it should be set up, or check the Hotmail site itself for this information.
-------------
I don't have a good feeling about this being especially helpful, but might be and is honestly all that I can think of to assist you.
Web-based stuff like this is just not usually a problem.
BEST OF LUCK! I know that this kind of thing is frustrating, so I hope this helps to get it sorted out.

I adopted a shi tzu back in june and shes still not housebroken and she doesnt let me know when to go out most of the time. what can i do? (link)

I was a sentry dog handler in the Army and then attended the Mandelyn Kennels school for training in Bakersfield, CA. (Before the shooting that took the lives of the owners, Ray Marcois and his wife Diane.)
I ended up working in IT for a living, but the following process has proven effective for our two dogs and those of family members. It's simple, but requires that someone be attentive throughout the day during the time that training is taking place.
It should be noted that this is assuming that there is nothing physically wrong with your dog such as sickness or a "plumbing" issue that prevents her from successful housebreaking.
- A crate that is large enough to allow her free movement will be required, or an enclosure of some sort that will be able to keep her confined to a space that allows comfortable movement - the ability to easily turn around and stand, and food and water bowls, but not much more.
Make sure that she's comfortable with a pet bed, or soft blankets and has a toy(s). A radio softly playing nearby is nice, if possible. (Nothing crazy, you want soothing music for this.)
- She'll be in the crate/enclosure all the time until training has been completed.
- At two years old, her internals are fully developed, so you should be able to start with every 2 hours. NIGHT time will be addressed a bit later in this...
You should be able to increase the time, but you'll want to keep it around the 2 hour mark to increase the interaction, which will help expedite the training.
- Every 2 hours, let her out of the crate and walk her to the door, sticking with a key phrase. We always used "out." For example, "Annie, do you want to go OUT? Annie is going OUT.'
Pause at the door to get her excited about going out. Be kind of nutty about it; 'Annie, want to go OUT!!! Yeah, let's go OUT!!
You get the idea. You want to get her excited about getting to the door and getting out. The more she wants to get out there, the more she'll be frustrated at your slowness to open the door and will bark, scratch or both.
When the dog is actually outside and starts to bathroom, make sure to proclaim, over and over throughout, that 'ANNIE is OUT, good girl is OUT.'
- When she's done, LOTS of praise, a little play time, vigorous petting, whatever your dog enjoys most.
- Once that's done, back into the crate to be repeated throughout the day.
- At least 3 hours before bedtime, remove food and water. At bedtime, not too much before, make sure to go OUT again, following the same "Annie is OUT' chant. (Grin)
- Once all of that is done, into the crate for the night.
- Get an early start and let her out of the crate to go OUT. Especially at first, as she's not used to exercising control. This is not a good time to sleep in!
Our Golden Retriever was trained and never had an accident after within 3 days. Our Black Lab mix had to be watched a little more, but was completely trained in about 1 week.
I hope this helps. It can be kind of a pain during the training, but it does go pretty quick and is obviously worth the effort.

thankyou so much
but where/how do i start? i live in a tiny city that holds no auditions, i feel trapped. and unable to do what i want to do. I really want to do acting and make it in the business, and im not getting younger and everyones telling me to be "realistic" and that its impossible..is it true? am i too old to become an actress? (link)

I honestly am not sure how you would actually go about it. All I CAN say is that you shouldn't allow yourself to be dissuaded by lack of support.
You clearly know what you want, and are working hard to make it happen. Age doesn't limit us - we limit ourselves by being hesitant to take a chance.
I Googled "how to break into acting" and got a number of relevant hits. It looks as though you'll find what you need on those sites.
As long as you believe in yourself, and from what you've written, you have every reason to, there is nothing to hold you back. There may be bumps in the road, the good stuff is never easy, but just 'keep on truckin' and you'll realize your dream.
Again, the very best of luck.

For 3 months I'll be away from home on a business trip of sorts, and won't be able to come home for the entire time. I have another 2 weeks before I make the move but have been planning out things I need to bring with me. I know I'm probably missing a lot of things on my list because I've never been away from home for more than just a couple of weeks. So, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions of things I should bring along with me that I might be forgetting to add to my packing list? Thank you. (link)
|
Without a general list of what you're already decided on it's a little more challenging, but these are the types of things that I have brought on a couple different extended trips away from home:
- Tops on the list is 'memories' of family, friends and loved ones. Pictures are great and a must, but videos are fantastic. If you're going to be gone for 3 months, you're definitely going to want stuff like this.
- In this day and age of computers, we're all more connected than ever before. Even with the Internet and such, you might want to pack some good books or load up your Kindle. Airport waits, TV-Internet outages and the like can leave you in a tough place if you don't have a way to occupy your mind.
I mentioned books because I like to read, but crosswords or whatever YOU like for quiet entertainment would be an important thing.
- I took a cross-country motorcyle trip with my wife years ago, and when she saw what I was packing, commented that "there are Wal-Marts on the planet that we'll be visiting." Point taken, but you still will want a reasonable assortment of clothing for the various weather conditions that you might encounter. Why buy things when you have your own that you know works from having worn it before.
- More or less in the same category, consider toilitries that may not be available where you're going; definitely if you're travelling to another country. 3 months is a long time to pack for, but if you've found a specific deodorant (or something like that) that works especially well for you, pack it up!
I guess that's really about all that I can think of. I hope that you have a great, safe trip!

I work in desktop support for a major insurance company and can tell you that we have both laptop and desktop HP computers for our people.
We have minimal hardware failures, and those have been with laptops that were dropped or left in the cold car overnight, brought in and started up without allowing warm up time.
No computer is going to like circumstances such as that, so based on my experience with HP, I would say they'd probably be your best bet.
(I've also built a number of computers with Asus motherboards that are still going strong, but don't have any experience with their computers.)
I'm not sure what you're looking to do with the laptop, but the business models are inclined to be a bit more "rugged" with the expectation of them being used in travel and such.
On the flip side of this coin, however, the business models may not have 'home' options such as built-in webcams and that type of thing. You'd really have to do a comparison of their models to see what works for you.
Best of luck in your search!

Hey,
I'm 16 and give a lot of advice but can't find the answer to my own. I've been into acting for 4 years and want to make it in the business, it's really all I want to do. I'm pretty confident and a positive thinker. I'm doing "performance studies" as a course now. But I'm from a little town in England, which is not on the map, and most people havent even heard of it. Is there any hope? I'm so dedicated and committed to anything that I'll get a chance to do. I just want to break out and make it big! But there are NO auditions here, and if they are they are really far away and my parents both work till late and I feel helpless because I don't know how or what to do. Is there any hope at all? I also take acting lessons online aswell as school, at home I take notes while i watch tv. It's becoming a big part of me..

It's all about YOU and the heart that you put into it.
I'm not sure if this is the best example or not, but look at Susan Boyle. She blasted out of obscurity and hasn't looked back.
I'm pretty sure that no one has ever said, I wish that I hadn't pursued my dream, or at least given it a try. You CAN bet, however, that there are plenty of folks regretting that they didn't give it a shot.
If you want it, you can get it. The only limits are those that you put on yourself. I hope that you take these sincere words of encouragement to heart.
I truly wish you the best of luck in this and all things.

of being liked?
Strange I know, but does it? I've heard that guys don't like "baggage". (Which is ridiculous because EVERYONE has issues). Anyway when I met someone I'm kinda interested in, I wasn't really crying per say, (I'd actually just gotten done,) so I still looked upset even though I wasn't.
(link)
|
I agree that it wouldn't ruin your chances at all.
In fact, (I don't know the proper terminology for this), but it might actually trigger a natural "protective" response in the guy.
I'm a happily married guy and I this is how *I* feel when my wife cries about something. I want to hug her and talk with her and make it all ok.
Best of luck!

You're normal for size, and although it's a bit cliche, remember that "it's not the size of the ship but the motion of the ocean."
Meaning, focus on HER and worry about yourself once she is satisfied. THAT is what she'll remember. Give her an orgasm (or two) and she won't be thinking about your size - that I can promise!

Hello i have a 10 month old female toy fox terrier. I've had her since she was a month old. When i go to work we do "doggy daycare" with my mother-in-law and she goes there about 5 days a week for about 8 hours a day then comes home with me. It's always been like this. We recently started to notice that when i leave to go out of town for more than 3 days she gets sick like has diarrhea. But then i take her home and she's completely fine. I have taken her to the vet because i was concerned about her getting sick (this was before we thought its because i leave) and the vet said she was fine. Is it possible for a dog to get upset and sick when their owner is away? If so, would a separation anxiety medicine help at all? I've never heard of this type of thing happening. Thanks for the advice! (link)
|
I agree with everything that has already been said, and would like to add that they DO have a variety of things that can help.
Dogs have personalities just like people; I'm sure that you know this. You have the comedians and the serious, the laid back and the anxious. The smaller breeds, to make a generalization, are inclined to be a bit more on the high-strung, anxious side.
You can Google any of these things using the keywords below:
- There is D.A.P. Spray for Dogs
- PetCalm
- Finally, search for "Dog Separation Anxiety" and you'll find good information about the situation.
I hope that this helps. I know that having a loved pet in stress can be hard thing on everybody.

Note: Not interested in any other or better capture card at the moment.
Anyways, which one should I get? Is the difference in video quality great or just almost the same? What's the difference between them? Are they both good for capturing gaming footage or is one better than the other?
(link)

This really isn't an answer to your specific question, but I'd feel bad to not at least mention it so that you know what you might be getting into.
I'd like to suggest that you visit websites that have product reviews; newegg.com and amazon.com are some of MY favorites, but I'm sure there are other good ones as well. This will help give you a better idea of the situation.
I recommend this because I've had experience with USB-based recorders / capture devices and the results were not great.
I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but you should know that all the processing with USB devices such as these is going to be done by your computer, It will have to be a "beefy" machine to handle this workload AND keep the game playable.
I hope that whatever you end up with does the trick for you. In the old-school Quake 2 days I was in clan and we recorded games from the video output directly to a VCR. (Yeah, you know, with VHS tape. (Grinning))
Best of luck with it!

What is the easiest way to get sticky tack off bc I've tried scratching it off didn't work out well:P please help Idk how to get it off?? (link)
|
I agree with Goo Gone, it IS fantastic stuff. Also, cold and heat can be effective, but be careful which you choose and how long you apply it (depending on the surface.)
Cold can be applied in the form of a simple ice cube, or even canned air with the can held upside down so that only the freon shoots out.
Heat can be from a hair dryer or even one of those bean bag things that you microwave to apply to sore joints, (shoulder, knee, etc.)
Lastly, there is a product called Bestine that you should be able to find in many stores or online at places like Amazon. As with anything, be careful to avoid damaging the surface that you're trying to remove the sticky tack from.
Good luck with it!

I'm not being able to fix this problem . My modem 's DSL lamp only lights and also the WLAN also lights but the Internet doesn't light . So what should I do ???
PLEASE help :(
Thanks a lot! Deep from my heart thanks :D (link)

Typically, your ISP can help, but here are some general thoughts (in no particular order - just as I think of them.) These are individual troubleshooting steps. If you do any of these and it works, there is probably no need to do any more.
NOTE: this is pretty much EVERYTHING that I can think of, so some of it may not be applicable to your specific situation:
---------------
- DSL is affected by weather to some degree. If there is heavy rain, that can often cause problems. Also, because DSL is basically a fast phone connection, so it will be affected by line noise. Your ISP can remotely test for excessive line noise.
- Do you have filters on each ALL the phone jacks? Make sure that one hasn't been removed, perhaps broken by a vacuum cleaner, etc.
- Are your network cables OK? They can go bad but not LOOK bad. They can break if run under a desk, or if squashed by a chair leg or wheel, The small
retaining clip can break off and allow the connector to back out the port. Swap cables if you have a spare(s) and see if that helps.
- Power off and back on again all your hardware. Turn off the computer, unplug the DSL modem and leave them off for 5 minutes or so. After the time has passed, plug the modem back in and let it fully come up. Next, turn the computer on.
- Many computers use an onboard (built in) network interface, called a NIC. Others, use an expansion card to provide network connectivity. If your computer
has more than one onboard NIC, try swapping the cable to the other. If your computer has an expansion card NIC, try shutting down the computer, unplugging the power cable to it, and open the cover. Remove the NIC and reinsert, making sure that it's firmly seated.
- Have you installed a new browser, or firewall software or AntiVirus client that might be blocking Internet access? Many clients have a "quick" feature
that can turn off Internet access if the user suspects a security risk. Make sure that didn't happen; perhaps even uninstall any new software as a test to see if it is causing the issue.
- Look in Device Manager to make sure that you NIC hasn't been disabled, or that it doesn't have a yellow exclamation or red X indicating a problem. (Look at re-installing your drivers for the NIC if you see either one of those.
- Make sure that the network connection itself hasn't been disabled in My Network Places. re-enable it if it has.
- If this has ever worked for you, (I assume that it has), consider a doing a restore point to a time just before the problem started.
I guess that's about all that I can think of. I hope that something here does the trick for you, I know that this can be pretty frustrating.
Best Regards...

Howdy!
You give really good advice, and we are glad to have you here.
There is one request: Please don't answer questions if you don't understand the question. I know it is tempting.
"We're going to need more information than that in order to help..."
http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=589181
... have a look at the other answer to see what they were talking about.
I wouldn't have mentioned it, but a user filed an abuse report on that answer. It is all taken care of now.
Thanks again for all the other advice you give. (link)

I understand, I apologize. I may have been having a senior moment, but I don't think that there was any reply at the time I posted.
I guess I need to catch up on some stuff. The last *I* knew (from about 35 years ago) year books were hard copy only.
I assumed that the question was about something online, but thought that the person was looking for assistance with PHP / HTML / PERL coding.

iPod's can be a little tricky. Here are a couple things to try:
- You should probably be using an onboard USB port, rather than a USB hub, if you have one.
- If you have a USB printer, USB keyboard and/or mouse or ANY OTHER USB devices, try removing them one by one to see if one of them is the problem.
- If you're using a Windows computer, the navigational steps may be slightly different, but you might try assigning a different drive letter to the iPod. For Windows 7, you would:
: Go to Start
: Right click Computer
: Choose Manage
: Highlight Disk Management
: Find your iPod in the list and right click on it
: Select "Change Drive Letter and Path"
: Click change and select some other higher drive letter, perhaps I for iPod
I hope that helps!
