Stomach Aches .

Question Posted Saturday January 22 2011, 4:05 pm

Ever since i was little i would always have bad stomach aches i would go to the doctor and they would say it was just cause i was nervous or something now im 15 and i still get those stomach aches and the urge to wanna throw up . I dont know why but it just happens and my mother thinks its because something is stressing me or im nervous about something and its all in my head. She even told me to stop thinking about my stomache hurting and it will go away but it never does . I miss alot of school because of it . Please I need Help ! What Should I Do? Should I Do Some Type Of Excercises To Help Me? Could It Be Stress?
P.S. I am NOT sexually active.

Your situation sounds similar to mine. If you haven't been checked by a doctor, you should be...

- It's common to have both a Colonoscopy (scope sent up your behind) and an Endoscopy (scope sent down your throat) to check things out. They drug you for both, so you're not aware of what's going on.

- Speaking from experience, an ulcer can make you stomach sick, especially in the morning. Dry heaves are common. Foods can also affect how your stomach feels. I did a 12 week course of Carafate and it made a world of difference.

- The Colonoscopy would be checking for things like polyps & diverticulitis. Diarrhea is common in colon difficulties, so is a lower (below the belt) dull ache that can worsen depending on a few things. Avoid nuts, things with seeds, etc.

There are so many things in addition to the good old standby of "it must be stress" that you really need to be medically evaluated.

I hope that this helps, and that this problem is resolved for you very soon. I know that it's no fun.

yes it could be stress and you might not even know that you are stressed out. maybe you are worried about how you look or maybe you are worred about boys , school work, family. I would make a stress ball? A balloon fill it with some sand to squeeze when your stumoch is hurting. Try deep breathing count backwards from 10.
