Question Posted Saturday December 25 2010, 10:28 am
i got a ipod nano 6th generation for christmas and when i plug it into my laptop via usb a box pops up in itunes saying '' ipod has been detected but it could not be identified properly''
ive tryed many ways to fix it such as different usb holes, reinstalling itunes etc..
any help please?
- You should probably be using an onboard USB port, rather than a USB hub, if you have one.
- If you have a USB printer, USB keyboard and/or mouse or ANY OTHER USB devices, try removing them one by one to see if one of them is the problem.
- If you're using a Windows computer, the navigational steps may be slightly different, but you might try assigning a different drive letter to the iPod. For Windows 7, you would:
: Go to Start
: Right click Computer
: Choose Manage
: Highlight Disk Management
: Find your iPod in the list and right click on it
: Select "Change Drive Letter and Path"
: Click change and select some other higher drive letter, perhaps I for iPod
