What type of clothes do leg warmers compliment? Tops... bottoms... types of shoes, etc.

leg warmers go good with any type of dancewear of course, since that is where the style originated from, so leotards, leggings, etc. (leg warmers only look good with ankle length leggings, you dont want any skin showing between the leg warmers and the leggings) the look good with converse sneakers, and ballet flats, or any type of flats. they also look great with skinny, straight-legged jeans, and skirts that are knee length or shorter. they can be worn with just about any kind of top.

My birthday is in about 3 weeks. I am gonna be 15, but the thing is I am in high school already. Most people turning 15 would be freshmen, but I am a sophomore. My friend just had her sweet 16. So anyways, I need some birthday ideas that are fun, but not corny or childish considering I am friends with a ton of people older than me, since I am like the youngest in my class. I might be inviting boys, but probably not. I don't want a pool party, or movies, or bowling, since that is really common. I was thinking a hawaiian or mexican or some kind of theme and just hang at my house, we have volleyball and ping pong, but i dont know if that would get old after awhile. Any ideas?? Thanks! (link)
hanging out at a house for a party is always a good idea, as long as you have enough stuff to keep your guests occupied. i think that a hawaiian theme would be really cool. you could have grass skirts for all the girls to wear, and you could hula dance. (if you find that interesting. lol.) volleyball and ping pong is good for awhile, but you might want to have some other stuff to keep your frineds occupied too, other than just sport type stuff, if you have a playstation you could have ddr up and running, or you could just have space to dance, since that is always a fun option at parties. you can also play traditional party games, like truth or dare. good luck.


I got this scar on my leg, and its shaped like a heart from playing field hockey.
I think its kinda cute, and its been about 3 months and it really hasn't gone away.
So I was wondering if it WOULD ever go away? Because I don't want it to...and anwyways to keep it from fading?

there isnt any way to know for sure whether it will fade with time or not. i have some that are almost fully faded after 6-7 months, and some that havent gone away after a few years. i dont think there is anything you can do to keep it from fading though.


I'm 16. Every time I go out, all the kids I see look chubby or overweight. I haven't seen a "healthy" looking kid in a long time. When I was younger, I remember that most kids were average weight.. but now.. it's changed. Is it because their parents don't care enough to give them a proper diet or what? Did computers/video games take over little kids? (link)
i have noticed that too. i think that in recent years movies, video games, tv, and the computer have become a larger part of childrens lives, which has substantially decreased their activity levels. also, schools have a lot of unhealthy food for kids to buy, and there isnt as much physical activity in the school curriculum anymore either. in some cases it is also due to parents not feeding their kids right.

But I just want to get the fundamental style- I know a gorgeous tan is a given and I'm working on that. But as for the clothes. What type of clothes should I be picking out? layering? What type trousers and shoes and accesories should I buy???

And any hints, tips, advice on Californian make-up???

yes a tan is a given. also try wearing a lot of sandals and flats, both work very well. you could add highlights to your hair, so that it is lightened up a bit. make-up can be very simple, have pink or brown lips, or lip gloss, a bit of blush, no eyeshadow is necessary. bermuda style shorts are a great look, in plaid or solid colors. for layering of shirts you can wear a tanktop that is a bit longer than the tshirt you are wearing so it shows up on the bottom, any colors that are bright and cheerful work well, just make sure you layer the outfit with more subtle colors if you have a very bright pattern on. try wearing ankle bracelets, a weeave pattern is best, and cowl shell necklaces, keep your bags small and simple. for jewelry you could wear longer necklaces over your shirts, small, simple earrings, and ankle bracelets, try to stick to natural jewelry. good luck.

do simple weight lifting for your arms, with three pound weights. or you can start with one pound. you can start with your hands (and weights) at your shoulders and push your arms up until they touch over your head, or you can hold your arms by your side then lift them up in front of you or to the side. good luck.


To say the least, I want to look good for this school year. I have breakouts on my face including acne scars (i used to be a big zit picker XP) and im getting my brows waxed. I don't need too much help with my hair, I think its ok. (I'm getting it trimmed before school starts) I'm a normal weight, and I think I lost a few pounds. So that is ok. Umm, actually the only thing i need help with is my acne! I have braces, but I can't do anything about that... :( so yeah. thanks in advance guys! (o btw, i use st.ives apricot scrub, and then i use benzaclin which is a prescription acne medication. i use it regularly, and im seeing SOME results, but not much.... if anyone has any suggestions, they will be needed! an acne treatment you could try is proactiv, believe it or not it really works. if you want something that is a bot cheaper though, and easier to get you could try clearasil ultra or neutrogena clean and clear. these will probably work better than a scrub, as they have a cleaner, toner, and lotion. make sure you are washing your face twice a day, and try to avoid touching your face too much. i would avoid using the apricot peach scrub, because it probably has beads that can get in your pores and clog them. if none of these work, while you are using benzaclin, then you should talk to your doctor about getting another prescription, because you may need something stronger. good luck.

wear something nice, you dont have to dress up too much, jeans and a nice dress shirt would be fine. make sure your hair is clean and you are clean. when you meet the people you will be talking to greet them with a firm handshake, this will show them that you are coinfident. be polite and do your best to answer the questions that they ask you. good luck.

to lose weight you need to start watching what you eat and exercising often. try and cut out sodas, desserts, and junk foods from your diet. drink a lot of water, it helps speed up your metabolism and will help you lose weight over time. if you are worried about being hungry, try eating six SMALL meals a day instead of three regular ones. this will help you feel more full, while still getting the same amount of food you normally would. as for exercising, you can do just about anything you want. running, swimming, crunches, workout tapes... try to exercise at least three times a week, the more you do, the more wight you will lose and the better shape you will be in. as for acne, you can go to a doctor and they will prescribe you with a treatment that will help clear it up, you could order proactiv, or, if you want something a bit cheaper and easier to get you could go to the store and get cearasil ultra or neutrogena clean and clear. both work very well, however you HAVE to wash your face two times a day and do what the instructions say or it wont work. the products may also make your skin a bit dry, unfortunately this is fairly normal. if that happens, still wash your face twice a day, but maybe skip the lotion or toning cleanser and only do that once a day or every other day until the dryness goes away. good luck.

well at the moment i have been in bootcamp the last 2 months. ive had the same boyfriend "terry" for the last 2 months. my question is should i stay with him even though i only get to talk 2 him maybe once every 2 months? i dont know if i trust him completely, but enough to have a reltionship. i love him to death but maybe being seperated would be better so we both can be free, but i cant let him go. plus he wont let me go either.Also, we both do not want to see eachother in a relationship with anyone else. what should i do? it sounds like you both want to stay together, so i think that is what you should do. if he doesnt want to let you go, i doubt he is cheating on you. or he would be fine with letting you go since he never sees you. it sounds like you guys like each other a lot, and dont want to be with anybody else, so i think that you should stay together.


I'm turning 15 soon, starting school soon. I never use to care about my weight, and I still dont. Just that I kind of have a big tummy. I look skinny, I am skinny... just with a tummy. I think I have a fast motabollism because the way I eat, I should'nt be the weight I am at. I barely like any fruits or vegetables, I love carbs and I eat a lot of it. It's unhealthy. And I'm a bit worried. I dont know what to do. How can I eat healthy if I dont like any heathly foods? Most of the foods I dont like that are vegetables, I havent even tried. I just have it in my mind that everything tastes bad and its really hard to change that, to try new food. However, there is a good thing I do. I drink like 3 or 4 bottles of water a day, the only other drink I drink besides water is apple juice. I dont even like coke or gatorade or anything like that. I want to get rid of my tummy though because its starting to show... I'm 4'11 at 97 pounds. Yes I know, I'm short and skinny... Just with a tummy. if you havent tried the vegetables, theres no way you can KNOW you dont like them. you have nothing to lose by experimenting. if you try it and dont like it, oh well. no big deal. better than not trying it at all. fruits are a lot more likely to taste better, because they are usually sweeter. if you cant eat them plain, you could try having strawberries with chocolate, powdered sugar, or whipped cream. as long as you are getting fruit it doesnt matter what you have to eat it with. its good that you arent drinking sodas or anything like that. as for the difference between crunches and sit-ups, when you do a sit-up you pull your entire body up off the ground, compared to a crunch, where you just lft your shoulders a bit off the ground. sit-ups are probably more effective because they probably work more muscles, however they arent great to do because they can cause back pain. good luck.


ok i like this boy and we have been going out off and on this entire school year. At first i really like him maybe even love him then we go out and about 2 weeks later i end up not liking him. then we break up and about a week later i decide i like or love him again and it all starts over. i dont know why i cant stay in love with him or why i can stay away from him. please tell me whats going on!! dont take this the wrong way, but i dont think you love him if you are feeling this way about him. however, you can certainly like him. what probably happened is you guys went out and you liked him a lot, but then you got bored of being with him. this happens to a lot of people. so you broke up. then, because you werent around each other anymore you probably missed him and wanted to go back out with him. so when youre with him, you dont want to be, and when you arent, you do. its confusing and frustrating, i know. however, if you give it another try and it still doesnt work out i think you should focus on someone else because its obvious that you dont like going out with him. good luck.

well there are a lot of different jobs you could get out of each one, but i dont think there is one job that covers all of that. you have to pick what you like the most, and look into careers with that. just some ideas for what you listed:

helping people- you could be a psychologist, if thats something you are interested in, or you could do something along the lines of working at an adoption center or foster home, or you could work at a senior citizens home.

health careers- this could also go along with helping poeple, you could be a fitness trainer if you like to exercise a lot, or you could be a diet planner for people who want to go on diets, if youre willing ot learn about different body types and a lot of foods.

fashion design- this could tie in with drawing, i am going to put them together for the sake of simplicity. if you are good at thinking of new fashion designs and different outfits, then you could get into that and become a fashion designer or come up with designs for fashion designers.

writing- for writing if you wanted to write for a fashion magazine then you could do both fashion design and writing, or you could write for a newspaper or other magazine.

ok well if you are eating food out of a can or package, or basically any food that doesnt come from a restaurant or fast food place, the package will have information on it that will tell you how many calories are in the food, along with grams of fat and sugar and things like that. it will also tell you how much of that food equals one serving. when you go to fast food restaurants and places like that they will often have a leaflet that has all the info on the food, but you may have to ask for it. if you are doing crunches that is good, but you should try some other exercises too for your legs and such. runnung or walking are both great exercises that will keep you in shape and help you lose weight when you do it often enough. to be on a diet and still not starve, you have to eat a lot of food still, but healthy food. instead of eating three regular sized meals a day, eat 6 SMALL meals a day. that way your body wont feel so hungry. you can eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and try to avoid desserts and greasy foods like chips or fast food. the secret is to burn more calories in a day than you are taking in. most people need betwenn 1500 and 2000 calories a day. so if you are getting 1500, you would need to burn more than that to lose weight. try and find out how many calories the exercise that you are doing is burning and it will help. goodluck.


theres this girl on my cheerleading team who is ruining the whole thing. shes really mean and always starts drama and fights and gets people against each other. shes like a poison that spreads through the team and makes it miserable for everyone. well anyway she also does a lot of bad things, like drinking, smoking pot, sends naked pics of herself to guys, etc. if she gets caught she could get kicked off... which i really hope she does, because our cheer team would be soooo much better without her. so i've sort of thought about sending a anonimous note to the school, telling them about the stuff she does. but i dont know if that would backfire or not? becuz they might just talk to her and warn her not to do that stuff, and then she'd be more careful and never get caught. and i really want her to get caught and kicked off because im serious it is really bad with her there. so what do you think? is it better to tell on her, or just wait and hope she gets caught? and i know this sounds really mean, but if you could really see how bad she is, you'd feel this way too. oh and please dont say to talk to her about it, because thats been tried and doesnt work. i think that you should tell someone, because she is bringing the entire team down. however, when you do you should try to have solid evidence and proof of her doing one or more of the abouve listed items, or, at least have poeple that will back you up and support what you are saying. good luck.


i met my my girlfriend from smoking weed. after a couple days we started really talking, but she was breaking up with her x and said she cant be my girlfriend. but yet we chilled everyday and got closer and closer..then we got together and so we went out for like 7 months. alot of ppl were telling me that she was using my for my money(have alot) and my weed. but i ignored them casue i knew she did love me. we were always happy except when we were jealous about each other..i mean we were inseparable day in day out..she crash at my house and her mom be blowing my phone and her sister who come stright from church!
then she goes to some young life church thing in new york leaves me in new jersey...tell me on the phone the god doesnt see me in her plans any more. just cuts me out of her life liek that. still says she loves me but cant hang out with me for a while like a nother month casue when we hang out we cant just be friends..complains that i make this hard but i want to casue i dont want to lose her but she says it cant be the same...now i dont know what to do! she is probably saying this because young life and the christian religion is very much against drugs. so now that she has gone to a place like that she is trying to be clean. when you are a christian you are supposed to try to stay away from people that could make you "stumble" spiritually. if you are willing, tell her that you are trying to stop smoking weed, and ask her to talk about the transformation she has gone through, and why she believes in the religion she does now. if she sees you are trying to change she may be more likely to talk to you, and if you ask her to talk about god she will certainly talk to you, because christians are supposed to try to bring others ot god. and im not saying you have to conform to her religion. but listening to her talk about it will let you get to spend time with her, and you never know, you may agree with what she has to say.

well, you said punk, and emo punk. but if he is in the emo scene he probably wont like a whole lot of punk. however, some good punk bands are:

well, the simplest solution would be to get a new pair, if you dance a lot you should have more than one pair. putting newspaper in shoes soaks up the smell really well. i know it doesnt make much sense, but it does. or you could try powder or spray for the shoes. good luck.

pace is the speed that you are running, how fast or slow, and stride is how far you are moving your legs while running. for soreness you could try minor pain medication, gold bond muscle cream, or a hot bath with epson salts. good luck.
