Tummy

Question Posted Friday August 3 2007, 11:06 pm

I'm turning 15 soon, starting school soon. I never use to care about my weight, and I still dont. Just that I kind of have a big tummy. I look skinny, I am skinny... just with a tummy. I think I have a fast motabollism because the way I eat, I should'nt be the weight I am at. I barely like any fruits or vegetables, I love carbs and I eat a lot of it. It's unhealthy. And I'm a bit worried. I dont know what to do. How can I eat healthy if I dont like any heathly foods? Most of the foods I dont like that are vegetables, I havent even tried. I just have it in my mind that everything tastes bad and its really hard to change that, to try new food. However, there is a good thing I do. I drink like 3 or 4 bottles of water a day, the only other drink I drink besides water is apple juice. I dont even like coke or gatorade or anything like that. I want to get rid of my tummy though because its starting to show... I'm 4'11 at 97 pounds. Yes I know, I'm short and skinny... Just with a tummy. Is sit ups good, doing it a lot a day for a long time? What is the difference between sit ups and crunches? Thanks for reading. I would love your advice.

if you havent tried the vegetables, theres no way you can KNOW you dont like them. you have nothing to lose by experimenting. if you try it and dont like it, oh well. no big deal. better than not trying it at all. fruits are a lot more likely to taste better, because they are usually sweeter. if you cant eat them plain, you could try having strawberries with chocolate, powdered sugar, or whipped cream. as long as you are getting fruit it doesnt matter what you have to eat it with. its good that you arent drinking sodas or anything like that. as for the difference between crunches and sit-ups, when you do a sit-up you pull your entire body up off the ground, compared to a crunch, where you just lft your shoulders a bit off the ground. sit-ups are probably more effective because they probably work more muscles, however they arent great to do because they can cause back pain. good luck.

hey!!
Ok, well i use to hate broccoli, untill my mom made it one night with cheese on it, then i would eat it, because i love cheese! So maybe you could try eating veggies with things that you like.. And you should drink lots of water, juice and milk! If you like apple juice, try apples, and eat apples, at least your eating one fruit instead of nothing! I thought that i was going to hate vegetables, i wouldnt even touch them, but when i finally did, i thought that they were actually kinda good! So i would totally suggest trying them. Also something else that might help is to eat things in moderation. Before you eat something junkie tell yourself, im only going to eat 2 oreos.. that sorta thing..
Something you might not have known is that your tastebuds change every 30 days. So keep on trying new healthier foods!=]
Sit-ups are good for your health, but not as good as crunches. Crunches are similar to sit ups but you're bringing only your head, shoulders and upper back off the floor. Crunches are much more effective because they specifically target your abdominal muscles -- not your hip muscles, which are used during a full sit up. Some people thing that if they do a lot of sit-ups/crunches in a short period of time, things will work out faster. NOT TRUE! people tend to get better results from doing 2, 30 sets a day for a little longer time.
good luck and have fun!!
