if u go tanning 3 days a week, for 30 minutes each session with a tanning lotion with a bronzer in it..will u get too dark??

Yes... a lot of people only stay in for like 10 minutes their first few times. It depends on your skin tone. If you're completely pale, tough luck. If you're pretty medium-toned, you'll get results.

You can get results just as quickly from self-tanners such as Jergen's Natural Glow lotion. That's what I use. The upside is that it moisturizes your skin instead of drying it out like UV rays. Also, no skin cancer.

this is going to be such a hard question to answer.
but i'm pretty sure this book has one an award, one with a gold sticker i think?

i'm 15 now but when i was in 5th grade my teacher read it to us. i can't remember names or anything. i remember this girl who was like a tomboy and something about a back of a store and someone getting hurt?

the cover kinda is gray and i think it has a girl with short hair on the front?

Your description reminds me of "Caddie Woodlawn," which I remember reading in the 5th grade. The other ones I'm thinking of are "My Louisiana Sky" and "Our Only May Amelia."

Another book I read in the 5th grade was "Out of the Dust"... that cover is gray.

Lose my voice before Tuesday?
It's hard for me to lose my voice. Don't ask why, I just want to lose it.

I always lose my voice after I go to concerts or ride lots of rollercoasters. So scream, as much and as loud as you can! Sing really loudly along to music. Water is good for your vocal cords, so drink something else.

I buy from ebay, and so whenever a package comes to my house, my mom just says "Oh what'd you buy?"
She doesn't ask too much or anything, but I just bought a belly button ring off of it, and she doesnt know I have it pierced.
1) So when it comes what should I say I bought? Like a pair of earrings?
2) And if she DOES open it, which i doubt she would, what should I tell her? For a friend?
Thank youu!

Yes, if she asks then tell her you bought a pair of earrings. (You can run to the mall and get a random pair of cheap earrings in case she would be concerned if you don't wear them. My mom would be like, "Why don't you ever wear those new earrings you bought?")

If she opens it and asks you what the belly button ring is all about, then say that's not what you ordered and you must have gotten the wrong shipment.

what would happen if you were walking on a street drunk but underage? would you get arrested? or have to go to court?

Yes, you would be arrested for a few reasons.

The first is public intoxication. (You would get in trouble for this even if you were of age.)

The second is underage drinking.

Depending on the situation, the person who provided the alcohol could get into trouble as well.

Hopefully this is a hypothetical question, but if you are drinking underage, please don't go out into public while you're intoxicated. You could get into a lot of trouble. Not that I condone underage drinking, but spend the night at someone's house if you need to.

How can I find out who died in a different place? I live in America and I want to know who died in Britain (but not like famous people, regular people) Please help!!! [no questions just answers nothing else, don't waste your time I'll only ignore it] Website links are best if possible

Go to google. Type this in:

"John Smith (or whatever their name is) obituary"

If you know what year they died, you can also type that in. If you know their hometown or something else that would be included in an obituary (like husband/wife, children, etc), then you can put that in the search as well.

So, for example, let's say that I want to find an obituary. I know the person's name, where they lived, and the year they died. Here's what I would type in:

"John Smith obituary London 2007"

There is a song called "Status Quo" in High School Muscle and I was thinking--does it encourage stereotypes and cliques in school? I mean there is a solution to the problem in High School Musical, but I think it's a bad base for a kids movie really. Don't get me wrong I'm not some weird overprotective parent that is against the "NOW" things (like High School Musical, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, or even the Jonas Brothers) I just think their is a deeper meaning in the movie which encourages groups and things that make children/teens not want to interact with people who are different.
Am I just reading too much into the High School Musical movie?

Could you tell me your opinion about High School Musical in this regard?

Hi, I think you have a valid point. However, when I first watched HSM it was pretty obvious that the song "Status Quo" was in there to contrast how people tend to act (cliques) versus how people can traverse social groups, like Troy did at the end. The whole point of the movie is that it's great to be yourself, and it shows Troy's struggle with peer pressure (indicated by Status Quo) and how he resolves it- by singing with Gabriella.

Disney makes it apparent that the song is just the viewpoint of the student body of most high schools. True, high school is like that, but Disney tries to teach that it shouldn't be.

If you'll notice, in HSM2 the basketball team and smart kids start to hang out with each other as a result of Troy and Gabriella.

Ok I'm wanting to find a picture of this creepy looking fish to use as my desktop wallpaper, but I don't know what it's called to search for it.

I've seen it on the Discovery Channel, and it's even on Finding Nemo...

It's a mean looking fish with long fang like teeth, lives in the deep dark of the ocean, and attracts prey with this weird light it has attached to it's body.

Any clue what this fish is called?

It's also referred to as a Deep Sea Angler.

what are some things that i can expect in high school?

Here are some tips from my personal experience.

Don't talk to upperclassmen. Ignore them for at least two weeks. Most of the time, all they want to do is mess with you.

Join clubs. You'll meet new people.

Know that there are a lot of people who are into bad stuff, but that doesn't mean you have to fall into that. Find good friends and stick with them. Don't let peer pressure get to you.

The teachers don't cut you very much slack. If you have a syllabus for a class, make sure you look at it before every class period to make sure you know when the quizzes and tests are. Familiarize yourself with the grading policy, like if you can turn in late work.

None of that sounds like much fun, but high school is a lot better than middle school and junior high. You have a lot more freedom and you get to meet really diverse people.

My hair used to be all dry and sticky because I never really used much conditioner. But lately Ive been using lots of conditioner so my hair is super soft. But now Im noticing everyone elses hair, and its all dry like mine used to be. Yesterday someone said to me "your hair is so soft. you must use loads of conditioner". So people know that conditioner makes your hair soft, but they dont do it? Is soft hair like, not in? lol help please, i feel like a freak.

Soft hair is definitely in. It just depends on other people's hair... some people just have really weird hair. My hair is fine (lol, not like fiiine but like tiny strands) but I have a lot of it, so people tell me that it's soft. But it's harder for people with coarse hair to get the same softness, even if they use conditioner. It just depends on their genetics. Unfortunately, some people just have bad genes and crappy hair.

I like the sweaters from american eagle and pacsun. They're not form fitting and when my little sister saw I was wearing one she basically told me I looked like a grandma or an old lady or something to that effect.

http://shop.pacsun.com/girls/sweaters-vests/Check-It-Out-Cardigan/index.pro

This is the one I have. I personally like the sweaters, but do they look old to you? I'm keeping it either way, haha. Just wanted an opinion.

paired with jeans, flats, and a long necklace

Haha, I think it's really cute and not old looking at all.

When my older sister was still in high school, I used to tell her that some of her clothes were ugly. But really, I ended up liking them a lot, and now my style is very similar to what hers was when she was my age. Maybe it's just a sister thing. I always got kind of jealous when she had cool clothes so I told her that I didn't like them. She saw through it most of the time :)

mmkay well I know that no one really likes to talk about political things because it brings up a lot of contreversy. But I feel like I'm confused with my political party status. So if you could..could you help me by giving me information on all the political parties in the U.S. (like their beliefs and what they live by)? So that way it'll be easier for me to determine which political party I belong to. Thanks so much,

Michelle Monster

Hi, it's great that you're trying to learn more about politics. Here are some links for you to look at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_Party_(United_States)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_(United_States)

Those are the major parties. Another party is the Libertarian party:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertarian_Party_(United_States)

Don't feel like you have to limit yourself to one particular party if you don't fully share all the beliefs of that party. There are many Americans who are independent, moderate, etc.

Some people choose not to belong to a political party, but they research the candidates and vote on which one they would like to be president anyway. That's so that they can make a decision based on what they think is right for our country, not necessarily just who has the nomination for their political party.

If I (guy) see a movie with a friend (girl), should I buy her ticket? It seems like doing so would be awkward, and not doing so would also be awkward. So which is the least awkward?

If she's just your friend and you don't have feelings for her, don't pay for her ticket (unless she just lost her wallet or something). Paying for her would send her signals that you might like her, and that could be potentially awkward and might make her think that it's a date or something.

I've been to movies before with guys who are just friends, and it wasn't awkward at all for me to pay for myself and for him to pay for himself. That way, it's definitely established that it's a "just friends" thing so it's not awkward.

"Make sure you have it on the right side. "
or sumthin like that by the way thanks FOR YOUR ADVICE YOURE GREEEAAATT =]

what do you mean RIGHT SIDE? is it not supposed to be placed in the CENTER of your eye ... i dont even think there is a RIGHT "SIDE" OF UR EEYE!

2 AND, "put it in and then blink" how does that happen like you place it in da middle of your eye even if your pupil aint lookin straight and lookin up you still put it in the center and blink? more details please IM SLOW

3 i dnt get how you just put it inside like you said " i keep my eye wide open as i can the put it in" im likee WHAAAATT ... how!??! its not magic or magnet that my pupil witll just suck it in from my finger..

get it? do you get wht i mean? =/

I meant "right" as a synonym for "correct." Correct side of the contact. When you get it in, you'll know if it's inside-out because it will hurt like hell. If it does that, take it out and try again.

Yes, it's supposed to be in the center of your eye.

Just stick it in the middle of your eye. You'll feel it pop in. It will be cold on your eye. Once you know that you have it in, and that if you take your finger away it will stay in your eye, then blink. If you're not comfortable with touching your eye, then this won't work. Just stick your finger in there, it won't hurt.

It should look like this:

If you still can't get it, go back to the eye doctor and get them to help you.

Well i go out alot and i usually go with a guy..
but for some reason i usually always end up paying for the guy and myself.. and i don't mind sometimes but all the time..? or just myself ..
i geuss it depends on the guy i choose but you as a girls.. does your man or "guy friend" pay for you or you pay for yourself?

I don't think you should have to pay for your guy friends. Normally people pay for themselves, or if the guy offers to pay it then that happens. But don't feel like you have to pay for him, only offer if you want to.

My guy friends always pay for themselves, and sometimes they offer to pay for me.

hey what are indie kids? like independent kids?
i mean its like a clique or something
but how do you tell who is one

and like whats an independent film? i googled but it didnt help

Indie kids are kids who don't really like mainstream things, like the "coolest" clothes (Abercrombie, Hollister, etc.) or the "coolest" music at the time. Indie kids would probably not listen to bands like Nickelback or the Jonas Brothers. Here is a list of bands that indie kids might listen to:

Here's information about indie record labels:

And here's a page about the indie culture:

Ok, so really everyone does weed at least once in their life. Even if it's just a hit. I smoke weed, not alot but enough. But theres this girl who is best friends with one of my like really good friends, and she hates me cause i smoke weed, but it's my life. I dont make other people smoke or anything. She just hates me. Idk what to say to her now, i wanna talk to her but i dont wanna make her hate me even more. What should i do?

She hates you because you smoke weed. So she's going to continue hating you because you smoke weed. If you really want her to not hate you anymore, quit smoking weed. Or, just tell her that weed is part of who you are and that you do want to be friends with her anyway.

And no, not everybody does weed at least once in their life.

Anyway, this is pretty simple when you look at it from a distance. If she hates you for what you do, either quit doing it or quit trying to make her not hate you.

Anyone know EASY WAYS to apply contact lenses?
I've tried to place them on the bottom of my eye with my head tilted up. But everytime I try to put them on my eye, it never sticks on, like I fit it wrong.

The main problem is that when I apply it to my eye, it still stays on my finger and won't stick to my eye.

im scared that i might POKE my eye. so i take it out immediately and start whining and crying. im just tooo SCARED!! anyone feels the same?

advice please im a beginner its my first time trying to put them on . im a wimp

Hi, I've been wearing contacts for a really long time so I hope I can help a bit.

First, go read the stuff on this website just to make sure you've heard it all:
http://www.wikihow.com/Put-in-Contact-Lenses

Okay, I used to have the problem where it stuck to my finger no matter what I did. Then, I realized it was because my finger was too wet from the contact. When I put my contacts in, I make sure it's right side up, blahblahblah, and then I switch it to another finger that is dry. So if you are going to actually put the contact in with your pointer finger, get it situation on your middle finger first and then switch it over. Then I can pop it in with no problems. It's kind of because the contact will stay in a moist spot- so you have to make sure your eye is more moist than your finger. Otherwise, it will juts stick to your finger.

When I put my contacts in, I hold my eye open as wide as I can, look forward into a mirror, and pop the contact right in. Honestly, in seven years of wearing contacts, I have never actually poked my eye while putting them in (and I'm a klutz), so don't worry about that so much :)

Then, once the contact sticks to my eyes, I keep holding my eyelids back while I shift my eyes side to side, up and down, and I roll them around a bit. This helps me get the air bubbles out. After about five seconds of that, shut your eye. It almost always hurts when I shut my eyes, so don't freak out if it does for a little while. It goes away in like less than a minute. Your eyes will probably water a little bit. If your eye keeps hurting after that for like five minutes or more, take the contact out and try again.

If you need any more help, just inbox me :)

what does it mean when someone farts and calls safety? lol

Haha, we play it a little differently. We don't really do the punching. When someone calls safety, that basically means that they can't be blamed for it. It doesn't make sense because obviously if they called safety then it's their fault, but we do it anyway. And if you smell something, you say doorknob. So if all of a sudden a lot of people say doorknob and nobody said safety beforehand... then you try and figure out who it was.

The way the other columnist described it sounds more fun though :)

how do you pronounce disgusting" disGusting or disCusting?

i hear lotsa ppl say disCusting!?!

I say disGusting. Now that I think about it, it does sound like some people say disCusting. To me, it's kind of a mix of the G and C sound. Not just a strong G and not just a strong C if that makes sense. It may be a regional thing; I'm a Southern kid.

If you say it fast, nobody can tell.
