Question Posted Wednesday September 3 2008, 5:46 pm

this is going to be such a hard question to answer.
but i'm pretty sure this book has one an award, one with a gold sticker i think?

i'm 15 now but when i was in 5th grade my teacher read it to us. i can't remember names or anything. i remember this girl who was like a tomboy and something about a back of a store and someone getting hurt?

the cover kinda is gray and i think it has a girl with short hair on the front?

Your description reminds me of "Caddie Woodlawn," which I remember reading in the 5th grade. The other ones I'm thinking of are "My Louisiana Sky" and "Our Only May Amelia."

Another book I read in the 5th grade was "Out of the Dust"... that cover is gray.
