about

I'm a vegan. I like glam rock and androgynous males. I have two cats. they're mystical beings. I'm going to college in less than a month.

advice

so i'm a ballerina and i go to a really strict ballet school where you can't wear any type of chiffon skirt or shorts or anything with your leotards and tights- and i've always worn underwear under my tights.

yesterday my ballet teacher saw it and she got so mad and told the whole class that you can't wear underwear with a leotard. Well, here's my problem. My vagina leaks a ton of vaginal discharge all over the place during ballet, and so if i didn't wear underwear it would get all over my leotard and tights. Also- right now I'm about to start my period so I'm afraid i'll get it during ballet tonight.

What can I do about my vagina???

should i tell the ballet teacher this?

help thx

I had to wear a semi-transparent costume in the last show I was in. the girls who wore the same costumes found that various things worked. double tights with no underwear, flesh tone lineless panties made by barely there, flesh tone panties under flesh tone tights under the costumes (which was me), thongs, etc. the best looking were the barely there panties in the same color as the costumes.

and if you're not already, start buying extra-thick tights.

hey

my skin just all of a sudden got really dry
and its like peeling
its gross like crusty looking
ive used moisturizer and it works for about 20 minutes and then i have to re apply it.
does any one have any ideas on how to hydrate my skin or should i just go to the doctor?

thanksss :)

don't wash your face as much, you're most likely stripping it of its natural oils. this is especially true if you just switched cleansers or upped your usage of one with salicylic acid because you freaked out about one pimple. lay off cleaning your skin it needs time to be good old fashioned skin.

I have a problem because I really want to be in all the theater things and plays my school and town has to offer, but i'm only a good actress, not singer. I am a HORRIBLE singer. THis is so anniong because literally ALL of the productions in my town are musicals!! When I audition I have to embarass myself by singing, and I don't get a part/get a horrible part. Is there any way to solve this problem. Oh yeah and please don't tell me to take singing lessons cause there is no hope for my voice!

take basic dance lessons and find something that works for you that way. many times if you have no singing skill but you can dance like no one's business, you can do musical theater. if dancing is not your thing, then take a choir class or sing in a church choir. wining because you don't get cast or don't get the lead roles will not change anything.

Ok, so I'm in a play and I'm pretty sure I got a cold sore on my lip (not on the side, ON it.) Last night was opening night, so I'm assuming I got it from the lipsticks that the makeup people use. I took a bunch of vitamin c and decided to use my own lipstick with a brush. Is it okay to smush my lips together? Normally I wouldn't wear any makeup at all if I had a cold sore, but I have to, for stage makeup. So summary:

Is this a coldsore, or did I get something grosser, and
How can I heal it quickly, and
Can I smush my lips together for using lipstick, will it get on more of my lip?

Thank you SO much.

it takes more than one night to grow a cold sore, so likely it wasn't the communal make-up, BUT as a general note, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS buy your OWN make-up kit for a play. It's not hygeneic to share make-up for any length of time. Mascara is another big one. I had conjunctivitus run through an entire cast of 36 during tech week of macbeth last november. since you got a cold sore, you need to tell the make-up staff and have them throw out all of the lipstick you might have used and foundation as well.

Im 14/f and Im really interested in becomimg a vegetarian/vegan. I was wondering do you have ot take any extra vitamins or anything? I already take One Source for Women but would I need any thing else to get all the nutrition I need? thanks in advance!!

if you become vegetarian you don't need any extra vitamins. however, because of farming, in America one cannot find vitamin B12 in any vegetables. It's fortified into some soymilks and it's in a lot of vegan items, so you may not have to take it anyway. everything else you will be fine with as long as you eat a variety of things.

Alright, my mom says that I shouldn't be an actress because she doesn't want to see me waiting tables when I get older. But I love acting, it's what I do, I mean my nickname is basically Drama Queen. But now I don't like much attention, yet I still want to be an actress, that or do something with animals. Everyone says that I'm a great actress, and I'm waiting for for the play I always wanted to do, Romeo and Juliet. Ever since I was like 5, I wanted to do this play. But I think I should just end my acting career now. Who am I kidding, show buisness wants an actress to be beautiful and skinny, which im neither. What do you think I should do? Should I end my acting career?

thx. ^__^

consider going for your dream to work with animals and doing theater as a side job. most mid-sized and larger cities have numerous acting groups (my city has about 8). get involved with them now and see how it feels. if you're still passionate about it by the time you have to go to college, then do acting, but I can almost guarantee that after a few years of nonstop shows you will burn out and not feel good and just want to sleep.

i don't want to wear high heels since i will be dancing and walking around all night. where can i get nice flats? do you think flats would be ok to wear at prom?

do not ever rule out the heel. ever ever ever. it's okay to wear a flat if your date is short, but if your dress is short, seriously, wear a good shoe. a flat is not a good formal shoe. period. go to a store (any store) and try shoes on. the trick to wearing heels is to walk on the balls of your feet with your heels up and practice for a few weeks before the event. you want to break in a heel like any other shoe or else you will feel pain and get blisters. there are too many good comfort heels to eevn consider wearing a flat to a formal dance.

lol sorry this is really gross. but is this normal? when my poop is like moving through my intestines it like gives me cramps. then itll stop and then itll move again and ill get another cramp. and then once it gets to the point where it can come out, lol yeahhh. and then im fine. is it supposed to cramp like that? y is it?

your body, with the proper nutrition, should not cause itself pain. if you're having difficulty pooping, then you need to speak with a doctor or dietitian. we can't give you advice.

Is it still weird that I play with Barbies? I'm 16 years old. But I just like to dress them and stuff...does any other girls my age still play with Barbies???? HELP!!

it's absolutely completely okay. I have nearly every doll I was ever given on shelves in my room and I have been known to redress them on occasion and I'm soon to be 18. in addition, I plan on becoming a costume designer for cirque du soleil when I get older, so I never plan on giving dolls up. consider working on a tech. theater crew at your school. actors are life-sized dolls.

both me and my brother have the exact same ipod, we even bought it the same day from the same place - here's the thing though, his has a search engine so he can easier find songs, and my doesnt! Now I have 4662 songs on my ipod, so its really hard to find the song im looking for - takes ATLEAST 30 minutes! Spo I was wondering, can you download the search engine onto you ripod somehow? Or is it a setting on iTunes you need to fix? Or what? Cause on the actualy ipod are settings are the same (or so i think)

Also he has this thing where if he "flips" really quickly letter well come up like in a gray box so you can find the letter you're looking for faster, mine doesn't have that EITHER!

please help me :( i spent a long time saving for this iPOd and it tunred out to be a total let down..

definitely update your iPod's software. you still might not have search, but I know you can get the quick-scroll option.

I'm 13, in 8th grade, and I was wondering if anyone knew any good 3/4 songs that I could use to waltz to. My friend Brian and I are going to choreograph a routine for our school talent show, and I was thinking of doing "Lover, you should've come over" by Jamie Cullum. They don't have to be popular, but alternitive, pop, or jazz waltzes are good. Sort of popular, but nothing like R&B or anything.

Just pretty much, not classical music, because then people will be less likely to like it (immature I know, but it's the truth). And if it helps, I will probably be wearing a long, strapless red dress and he'll be wearing a black suit.

Thanks very much! My friend & I appreciate your answers. :]

consider the tango roxanne. it's not in 3/4, but it's a very hot tango.

edit: I lied. I think it actually is 3/4. also, try checking musicals. The Waltz For Eva and Che from Evita is kind of fun (if you change costuming). So is the Thenardier Waltz from Les Miserables (again, costume change needed).

hey..im in 10th grade regular global history i do really well in that class high 90's and im thinking of doing Ap u.s. history next year do you think I will be able to handle it I never took any advanced courses before. like do they expect you to know everything the first day. Because I dont have everything in my head. I am a fast learner and do well in school what do you think? thanks

definitely ask around your upper classmen who've had the teacher before. my APUSH experience blew chunks and no one passed the test, but I got a 4 on the APEuro test and I'm doing really well in APWorld. Find out how much work the kids who did well had to put in the weeks prior to the test. it's a high-stress time and you want to find the teachers that prepare you so well it makes it more of a review rather than a relearn. personally, I think the histories are easier by their very nature and APWorld is probably the easiest if your school offers it. APEuro was definitely my favorite.

You see in windows those manikins wear strapless dresses and it looks perfect on them?

Well I owuld wear them but when I do or a tank top there's like fat that comes out of my arms peeking out and i'm skinney.

What can I do? Hopefull an excercise that won't make me get muscles..

get professionally fitted for a strapless bra. seriously. the one you have is most likely too tight in one area and is forcing the fat upwards. you also might be shopping in the wrong department for your figure. Pre-pubescent girls tend to have less fat on their chests than slightly older girls. It's the natural way a woman's body grows. A lot of older teens have a tendency to shop in the juniors department and don't do their bodies justice because of it. Try expanding out of juniors and try on other dresses. 16-18 year-olds do not have the same bodies as 12-15 year-olds.

My World History class is SO effing BORING! I fall asleep EVERY time I'm in that class...and the thing is...we're not allowed to sleep...otherwise, we get an F for the day. And I can't help it. My eyes close...and I can't stop it lol. What's the best way not to fall asleep?

I fell asleep a lot during my freshman year world history class. I honestly couldn't bring myself to enjoy learning about all those dead guys and as a result, I got Cs. The next year I had a really awful teacher for history and I really appreciated how great my freshman year teacher really was. Junior year I took AP European History with that same teacher and found myself dozing off slightly, so I started drinking coffee in his class. Then it became various bits of food. And I really loved AP Euro. I had an appreciation for history after my sophomore year. This year I'm taking a second year on World (AP-style) and I don't even need to reward myself for staying awake.

I'm doing a show at my high school & I'm getting a personal mic. Whenever I see I high school show I always hear them breathing really loud into their mics, and then they sing way to loud and it hurts my ears. I don't want to be like that haha. Does anyone (with expierence, don't just guess please.) have any tips to avoid these things while singing and dancing? Please help and thanks!!

the amount of feedback created by a lavalier (assuming you're using a lav and not a cordless mic or chorus mics) is determined by how good your sound crew is, not anything you can personally do.

Hello everyone! I want to first of all thank you for taking the time to read this- I know that it gets very busy on this site! Alright- to get started. About four days ago, I stubbed my little pinky toe. It did not hurt at first, but then about two hours later, I was crying in pain. I am pretty sure that it is broken, because of the bruising, and it now the bones are not lined up as they were. I am not sure what I can do about it. The doctors cannot do anything, because they can not put such a little cast on a toe. Is there anything I can do to help it heal faster?

Thanks! Have a great day :]

generally you should always have an x-ray to get an estimate on how long you should be gentle on whatever it is you broke. whether or not you get one and whether or not it is broken, you should tape your pinky toe to the next one in for about a month and a half and lay off physical activity besides walking for at least two weeks. unless it's the big toe which adjusts your balance, you will always simply tape your toes together and go on your way.

Ok so my school is having this medeival times thing and i was picked to be queen.

i REALLY need to find a blinged out dress[haha] you know...how the queen dresses? not TOO expensive because i`m only going to wear it once.
i also need a crown to go with it... [optionall]
THANKS!!!
i`m a raterr.

THANK YOU!!
PLEASE HELP ME.

look up the costume shops in your area and fax away your measurements. for these things, renting is best.

duuuude! people pay me money to coordinate, repair, restore, and make costumes for them! tell me what city you're in and I can list 4 or 5 warehouses in your area. it's all a matter of calling instead of biting the hands that are there to help!

So tomorrow I'm donating blood for the first time. I'm pretty good with needles, so I'm not too nervous or anything. Anyone wanna tell me exactly what happens?

depends on the place majorly. if it's through school you won't be nearly as relaxed as if you go into a blood clinic.

assuming it's at school, you'll likely check in and fill out a whole lot of forms you'll only have to ever do once (basic information like birthday and social security number and home phone and address). from there you'll wait a while and panic like hell while you watch everyone else be first time donors.

eventually you'll get a survey with a whole lot of personal questions on it like, "have you had sexual relations with a man who has had sexual relations with another man?" or "have you had relations with anyone from africa?" and such. they're confidential and you'll probably be fine. if you answered no to all of them you'll get your iron levels checked and they'll take your pulse and blood pressure. checking your iron levels hurts the most. they prick a finger and take a teeny tiny amount of blood, but it's pretty much sucked through a narrow straw and it's nothing like normal pain.

if you pass those tests you'll finally be able to give blood. it takes about 8 minutes for me to give a pint of blood. that's when you'll do the squeeze ball and such. they'll remove the needle and have you hold your arm over your head for 30 seconds and bandage you. then you sit for a few minutes and eat cookies and orange juice (or PB&J) and go back to class.

if you're a healthy kid you won't faint. if you faint they will call (or have you call) for a ride home, usually, using the numbers you provided at the beginning. that's not really a big deal and I've never had it happen. if you go to a clinic then it'll be the same process but it'll be a lot faster and calmer.

finally, good for you for donating. milk sympathy from everyone you can that first day. everyone loves a blood donor.
