Moop answered Thursday April 5 2007, 11:24 pm: definitely ask around your upper classmen who've had the teacher before. my APUSH experience blew chunks and no one passed the test, but I got a 4 on the APEuro test and I'm doing really well in APWorld. Find out how much work the kids who did well had to put in the weeks prior to the test. it's a high-stress time and you want to find the teachers that prepare you so well it makes it more of a review rather than a relearn. personally, I think the histories are easier by their very nature and APWorld is probably the easiest if your school offers it. APEuro was definitely my favorite. [ Moop's advice column | Ask Moop A Question ]
lbwhite89 answered Thursday April 5 2007, 3:35 pm: Definitely take it. I'm in the 11th grade and I'm in APUSH right now. I love it. It is a bit challenging, but they don't expect you to know everything as soon as you get in there. They start at the beginning and test you on what they've taught, just like in regular classes. kiwilovesyou answered Thursday April 5 2007, 3:15 pm: AP courses prepare you for college. If you are a fast learner you will do well in this class, but it also depends on how comfortable you are with the information your learnig.
These classes prepare you for college so theyre going to go at a fast-rigorous pace. At the teachers may not expect you to knoww everything the first day, but they will expect you to be able to catch on to concepts at a very fast pace.
Also remember that there is usually a test to be accepted into AP classes.
XoUkrainianBabeXo answered Thursday April 5 2007, 2:49 pm: I recommend you ask some people that are in that AP class in your school. Because in my school AP US is the hardest AP class. On the first day they already had a test and had to know all the presidents in order when and for how long they served where all the states on the map where and I think the constitution. However I know in another hs it's a lot easier. So it all depends on your school. Ask around and find out about the teachers that teach AP US.
ImFakingHotPink answered Thursday April 5 2007, 2:05 pm: I don't know how your school works but in my old high school (now in freshmen college year) you had to take a test and if you score a certain percentile you get into AP classes.
If you're in regular global history and not in honors or AP then yes it may be a lot more difficult in AP history. More fast pace, more tests, harder to pass. I took AP classes and in history in one of my AP classes the teacher gave us an evaulation test the first day to see where we are but our schools are different. I suggest you ask one of the 11th grade APers how it's like. [ ImFakingHotPink's advice column | Ask ImFakingHotPink A Question ]
