i really want a date for homecoming. a few of my friends have dates, and although i heard it is better to go with friends, i would love to have a date. everyone is talking about taking pictures and going out for dinner with there dates, and color coordinating what they wear. and i really want that too! there are some guys that i think like me, but im wondering if maybe they are too shy to ask me or something. how can i seem more approachble without seeming desperate for a date! and please dont tell me u dont need a date and its better without one. because i know that but i just want a date lol! please help me..thanks! btw im 14/f (link)
|
It is a lot of fun to go with friends, but if you go alone when all your friends have dates you might end up not having anyone to dance with. What I reccomend is to go with a group of friends AND your date.... that way no one feels left out. Since you said you're 14, I'm assuming that you're either a freshman or sophomore. A lot of guys in those grade levals don't feel comfortable asking a girl to a dance even if they really want to go. Keeping that in mind, just ask someone that you think you'd have fun spending the evening with. It's not that big of a deal, really. Even though homecoming is supposed to be the dance where the guys ask the girls, it doesn't always work out that way.

Hi, I am a junior in high school who has an high average and I am now active in many extra curricular activites. My question is what is the best way to organize myself and not get stressed out. I know that I can do it, just need a few pointers. Thank U n advance (link)
|
You need to invest in a day planner or calander and write down what days you have club meetings and activities planned after school. You shouldn't put clubs and sports before your schoolwork and grades, no matter what. If you can't attend every single meeting that there is, just go to whatever you can. Most clubs are pretty laid back and understand that people have work, homework, and other clubs that are going on. Make sure you don't overload yourself, though. When your schedule is too full you don't have time for just hanging out with friends.

Im in a band right now. Im am the leadsinger and main song writer. THey are all my good friends but I hav a problem. I feel stuck. I try to put so much into this and get nothing in return. I dont want to diss my friends but Im realy starting to think that I wont be able to make my dreams happen with them. What do I do? (link)

Look at what you're really expecting from your friends in this situation. Maybe not all of them are as serious about music as you are. It's okay to jam with them sometimes even if you don't stay with your current band for the rest of forever. Work with some other musicians that are as into it as you are. It's understandable to feel stuck when you're the only one who buckles down and gets the work done. Make it clear to your friends that you still want to hang out with them and play with them, but you want to expand your own musical talents by working with some other musicians. The best way to do this is just by talking to people and maybe setting up a few times to jam out in the garage or whatever. If your friends are really your friends, they'll understand and will want you to go on with your music.

This might be kind of long. Sorry.
I got my first job not even a month ago. Maybe 3 weeks ago. I work about 2-3 times a week, making minimum wage. I'm 16, too, and have been for about 5 months, and I have my driver's permit. Today my mom told me (more like demanded..) that I was going to get my license by October 1st because she needs help and can't take me to work all the time. I don't want to do that because I calculated that at least 3/4 of my paychecks will go to HER for insurance. There are 4 expensive things I want to get first before I have to pay that much money to my mom (ipod, digital camera, digital video recorder, and laptop). The reason is because it would take me 3 times as long to save up for all of that if I have to pay my mom for insurance because of a license.
What do I do? She doesn't seem willing to compromise..and if she continues to force me to get my license, I may feel inclined to fail the driving test on purpose because my mom is not the only one wanting to save money. (link)
|
What I reccomend is asking your mom if your friend can take you to work or if you can walk to work. If you're old enough to have a job, you're old enough to walk there. Also, if you're old enough to have a drivers liscence, you are old enough to pay for your own insurance. If you want the privledge of driving, pay for it. If not, then don't drive at all. Stuff like Ipods and cameras can wait. Once you get your liscense you'll want to be driving everywhere... just suck it up and pay the insurance. It's really not that big of a deal. (sorry to sound like a bitch.. I don't mean to. I'm not that much older than you and I bought myself a car, paid if off AND paid for my insurance all on my own. You don't have much to complain about)

Hi my boyfriend and I are having some problems. Well first of all he is mad at me for getting a myspace and he wont leave me alone he's threatning to break up with me for it, its retarded he needs to just leave me alone. What should I do? (link)
|
If your boyfriend is getting mad just because you got a Myspace profile, he needs to get a life and you need to dump him. If he won 't let you have your own life and your own friends then he's not worth keeping around. Just let him leave if he's going to act like a big baby about it.

Hi, I'm 17/f and I'm worried. How can you tell if your wisdom teeth are going to grow in properly, and does anyone know the amount of space you will need for them to grow? Not precise, but about how much? thanks. (link)
|
The only way to see how your wisdom teeth are growing in is to go to the dentist for a panoramic x-ray.

For Homecoming, do you get a long dress or a shorter dress? Is it really fancy, like should I buy a facy dress? (link)
|
Homecoming is semi-formal, meaning that it's probably better to wear a shorter dress. Long dresses are more appropriate for Prom, and you'll probably look waaay overdressed if you wear a long one. You don't need anything fancy, just something that looks good on you.

Well, my birthday is in 3 days. I'm turning 14.
My friend Jessica is supposed to come along with my 4 other friends. Jessica hasn't contacted me in 2 days and she didn't even mention my party. I invited her and she said she can most likely come!
But now I want to invite my friend Anne, but I'm not so sure I should because Jessica will get rather mad at me! I'm afraid she'll show up or call if I invited Anne, and I don't want her getting mad because I invited someone else because she didn't call me about it. That's the only reason I would have invited Anne, because Jessica hasn't contacted me in any way.
What should I do!? (link)
|
If the number of friends you can have matters to your parents, then you should talk to Jessica and tell her that you NEED a firm yes or no answer about the party. If she wants to come, great. If not, then you should invite Anne in her place. The key is to not make it seem like you only invited Anne to take Jessica's place. It's just a birthday party, hun. It won't be the end of the world if she doesn't come to it. Just try to have fun and enjoy your day.

is there a better way to put an image off the computer onto a shirt than ironing it on? (link)
|
You could either print out the image and take it to a professional printing shop or have someone airbrush the design onto the shirt. It wouldn't look exactly the same if it was airbrushed, but the effect would be pretty much the same. If it was professionally screenprinted, the design would look exactly the same as on the computer.

My parents think every plan for a cellphone is expensive! That's why i'm wondering if that kidconnect plan from t-mobile for 19.99 a month is actually good? I don't care that it has only 50 minutes. Is this plan good for a 13 year old girl? (link)
|
A plan that only has 50 minutes may or may not be good. If you like to talk on the phone a lot, then you're definatly going to need more minutes than that. What would be a better idea for you is a TracPhone (0r some other type of pre-paid cell phone). You can get the phone for relativly cheap and you can buy your own minutes when you need them.

I hat my mom.She wants me to get new friends because she thinks that all of my friends are horrible (ugh i HATE her)so I wanted to go somewhere with A friend and she won't let me go b/c there is gonna be drinking but i see it all the time...even my dad drinks she is so stupid she alwayts thinks that she is making the Best disision. So my question here is how can i get her to let me go places???? (link)
|
Your mom would probably let you go places with your friend if there wasn't any drinking involved and if there was adult supervision. She would probably let you have your friends hang out over at your house when she was there. Most parents are very reasonable about things like that. If you just stick it out until you get your drivers liscense, things will be much easier for you. My parents never let me do anything when I was in junior high and the very beginning of high school because they were worried about me getting mixed in with the wrong crowd. It's not so bad once you get older and start to grow out of the phase where you think your parents are the most horrible people in the world. (That's not an insult to you by any means... everyone goes through it.) Now that I have a car and a drivers liscense, I can go anywhere I want with whoever I want, but you have to earn that privledge.

How far do you think is too far when it comes to changing for your boyfriend? Is it the hair, the clothes, the attitude & friends?! I need to know. (link)
|
I agree with the person who answered before me. You shouldn't have to change your personality for a boyfriend. That's completely unreasonable. If he doesn't like you for who you are, then you are dating the wrong person.
It's one thing to try to dress a little nicer when you go out with your man, but it's another to go out and buy all new clothes because your boyfriend doesn't like what you wear now. You shouldn't ditch your friends for some guy that's only going to be around a few months at the most.. that's just STUPID. Don't sell out yourself and your friends. You will regret it.

Do you think guys prefer girls who show alot of skin, a little skin or no skin at all when looking for a girl to start a serious relationship with? (link)
|
Honestly, I think it all depends on what the guy is looking for from the relationship. If he's looking for a girl who "puts out", he's probably a fan of tight pants and low cut shirts. If he wants just a normal every day girl for a REAL relationship, then most guys do like it when their girl shows some skin but still leaves some to the imagination. Clothing really shouldn't matter when it comes to relationships. I think most guys would accept the girl in whatever she felt comfortable dressing in, but some people are freaked out when someone either covers everything or covers nothing at all.

I saw this bulletin posted on Myspace titled "do you like polos???" and it said, "Hey! I have a friend who works at Lacoste and she just told me about a new promotion they're having!!! They're trying to gain popularity with the MySpace audience so they're giving away two free polos to MySpace users at their site! Just fill out some quick stuff... and enjoy their famous polos!" Is this REAL or do you have to actually buy the polos? Is there a catch and is it safe to do? (link)
|
I've never participated in anything like this, but I will offer this bit of advice to you: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Most of the bullitens like that are complete scams and they want you to do something ridiculous like spend all kinds of money at a certain store or recruit 25 friends to join a website. This probably isn't safe to do especially if they're asking for your email address and other personal information. If you give them you email, be prepared for TONS of junk mail.

I'm aware that the new style is now 'skinny' jeans, but I think they are absolutely hideous. I refuse to wear them. My question is will I stick out in school this year? It seems like lots of people are switching to skinny jeans, and I'm sticking with my flares. Just tell me that truth, I need to know. Are flares still okay or is it all about skinny? (link)
|
You don't have to buy skinny jeans if you don't like how they look. What I reccomend is buying flare leg jeans whenever you can find them. Fads like this go in and out. You should just wear whatever you feel comfortable in and not worry about what everyone else is wearing or not wearing. Skinny jeans DO NOT look good on anyone who has even the slightest bit of extra weight on them, which means that most people probably won't buy them.

Ok, So I am going out with this guy. He is 26 and I am 16, well soon to be 17. But people keep saying that he is to old. But he makes me happy. Then again he makes me annoyed sometimes but then again thats life. lol.
So I really like him and I just keep thinking that it is just like Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moor. (link)
|
Okay, this guy IS way too old for you. You're 16 and he's 26. That's a ten year age difference. If you still want to be with this guy when you're 18 and moved out of your parents house, you can do whatever you want with whoever you want. I guarantee that this isn't like Ashton and Demi. Most older guys are only after all these younger girls because they want some action and can't get it from someone their own age. Think about that before you go jumping into a relationship with this guy. There must be some reason why he isn't dating people in his own age range.

Is it hard having a part-time job and going to high school? (link)
|
This is a very broad question, so I'll do my best....
It's stressful at times when you have a job and go to school, but as long as you have a reasonable boss you should be fine. Don't stay at a job that keeps you until all hours of the night on school nights. That's just unreasonable. Don't work for someone who wants you to work during school hours either. See if you can work only three or four hours on school nights and more on the weekends. Working long hours on school nights will probably lead to you not getting your work done. If you can't manage to get your school work done while you're working, you should concider only working weekends and when you have breaks from school. School and activities should definatly come before work while you're still in high school.

My friend told me he started smoking weed so I want to know how bad it is. Is smoking weed considered a drug? And is it worse then ciggarettes? And is it addictive? Any more info about it would be appreciated! (link)
|
How "bad" you concider something to be isn't something that anyone else can tell you. It all has to do with your values and how you feel about the issue of smoking weed. Yes, it is concidered an illegal drug. Some people say it's worse than cigarettes, but cigarettes don't affect your mind the way that weed does. Yes, it is addictive, but it's a mental addiction rather than a physical addiction.

How many centimeters is 4 millimeters? (link)

Millimeters are smaller than cenimeters. 4 millemeters would be exactly .4 centimeters.

Ok so im in dance and i have been for 10 years but like i am fat and and like a dance at least 8 hours a week and i was wondering y am i not getting skinnier and i do sit ups to get rid of my fat so what am i don't wrong? (link)
|
You won't lose any weight if you eat a lot of junk food and then go excercise. Those two things will just cancel each other out. If you really want to lose the weight, you should eat healthy foods AND do your dancing.
