Question Posted Wednesday August 16 2006, 10:51 pm

For Homecoming, do you get a long dress or a shorter dress? Is it really fancy, like should I buy a facy dress?

homecoming at my school is normally semi-formal. however, if you're in the homecoming court (duchess, queen, whatever) then you wear a formal dress (but not something outrageous like a prom dress, just a dress that comes below the knees and is really pretty). your dress should probably be cocktail or semi-formal because it's not supposed to be as fancy as a prom dress.

Hey. I am not 100% sure but my brother went to homecoming and I know that everyone dresses up but I don't think its extremely formal like the prom for example. I would reccomend a knee length dress but wear what makes you feel comfortable and pretty. Have fun to! ♥ kelli

It could be long or short, elegant, but not as fancy as your prom dress would be.

Homecoming is semi-formal, meaning that it's probably better to wear a shorter dress. Long dresses are more appropriate for Prom, and you'll probably look waaay overdressed if you wear a long one. You don't need anything fancy, just something that looks good on you.

At my high school, Homecoming was semi-formal, and most girls wore knee length dresses. Some barely wore long dresses. The idea is...that for everything else that is not prom, you dress semi-formal.

But yeah, this is something you need to ask around at your school.

homecomings are usually semi-formal. you should probably go with a shorter dress. i wore this dress to my school's homecoming last year. [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) maybe it'll give you ideas. i don't know...i have a crazy fashion sense. [:

It depends on your school and how you feel. Like my school does extremely like formal dresses and i would say 90% of the people have dresses to the floor although some people where shorter dresses, but on shows like laguna beach they wore short like nonformal summer dresses.

What i did was i went in early summer and i bought a clearace prom gown which i am going to wear
