My most boring class in high school is English. I cant stand that class at all. My teacher is sooo boring. Im not even kidding. It feels like we are learning history actually. We cant talk, we're separated by our friends, I sit by in between my most 2 worst enemies. Its freaking horrible. I just hate it so much. And then I always walk out to go out to my locker so bored. Im seriuos its so hard to survive that class. My face just drops and my lips just stick out. I cant do anything but listen. The question is HOW CAN I SURVIVE SUCH A BORING CLASS?

try singing a song in your head... when you get so sick of that one that you think you're gonna go insane, pick another song and do the same thing. it passes small chunks of time rather quickly, and those little chunks add up and it goes by much quicker. I figured this trick out in my english class, which is much like how you described yours. I sit about 2 feet in front of my teachers face and I've been sitting there all year everyday and i hate that class. It sucks cause I can't get away with doing other stuff without her seeing me.

okay well to start off last year i spotted this kid on my bus and as soon as i looked at him, it felt like it was love at first sight. i saw him and was like wow theres something about him that is special and unique that ill always remember. he had the most gorgeous eyes ive ever seen and his smile brightened my day. i was friends with his friends and i used to sit with them and finally i got introduced and started talking to him and we got along well and became good friends. then we started not talking so much but still managed to talk here and there. my friends were in my grade which at the time was towards the end 8th and he was finishing 6th. i thought it was kinda werid that maybe i liked sumone 2 years younger than me. it was almost the end of the year and i was going to high school. but at the same time i still liked him and had some sort of feelings for him. i thought that i couldnt like him bc he was too young and everyone would think im werid or sumthing. i was very confused with my feelings and what was happening. then one day i found out he liked me and i got all excited and thought i like him too. he came to my house a few times with his friend to hang with me because he missed me. then he asked me out once and i rejected him, i dont kno what came over me, but i just couldnt say yes, i was tihnking is this too good to be true? i couldnt imagine me and HIM. i wanted to say yes but i couldnt, he was younger than me. now i regret saying no. during the summer we hung barely and i missed him . then right at end of summer i found out he moved =[ , 1300 miles away. now its the begingin of high school and im still thinking about him all the time and i talk to him online. he might be coming back to visit in the summer and hopefully ill get to see him and maybe we can go out. my freinds have talked to him and asked him if hed go out with him and stuff but he said he liekd me alot and he hasnt seen me in a very long time. i miss him so much and i dont kno if im in love, ive never tohught about someone this much or the way i feel. our conversatoins we have make me wanna see him even more and i cant wait till summer. i dont kno what to do does anyone have any suggestions about what to tell him or what i can do? i kno my life is complaciated thanks for trying to help me =]

Now that he's moved far away, I don't think it's very possible that you could get together with him again. I think you missed your chance. You CAN however be his friend over the internet and the phone, but a relationship closer than that simply can't function soley on those things.

JC Penny has a lot of dresses to choose from for decent prices. I was there last week and I found a couple really pretty black dresses(formal) for 40$ and 20$!! It's kind of a pain to search through them all to find one that you like and that fits cause there's so many, but its a good deal.

Why do it in bed? lol make it exciting! Use a chair or the floor... it doesn't matter. Get creative and do whatever you feel like. Move around alot! lol

how do you know if you have a distorted body image of yourself because im struggling right now with my weight, i am 146pounds 5'7in height and i wear a size 4-6 in tops and 4's in jeans.

I don't know what you think you are- too thin or too heavy, but the way you are now sounds just fine to me. It's perfect because you have room to lose weight and room to gain weight. You don't have to constantly battle your weight because there's some room to slip a little bit. However, if you have any big fluctuations in your weight, it could be bad, so try to stay as consistent as possible.

i have a MAJOR problem! I want to lose weight but thats not going to happen if this continues! During the day i exercise regulary and try to eat healthy but when it comes 2-3 hours before bedtime i get MAJOR cravings for food and i usually give in! and its not just oh a slice of pepperoni NO its like a MEAL with chciken and this and that. and i go ALL OUT like RIGHT before i go to bed. how do i stop it?

Do you eat enough throughout the course of the day? This could be causing it- since you would feel deprived. Don't ban your favorite foods from your diet. Promise yourself small amounts here and there. For me, it was peanut butter and Ice cream. I'd go a day without it, and then after dinner, I'd pig out on it. Now- I've gotten back on track. Also, drink a ton of water. You make smarter decisions that way. Or- make it a habit right after dinner to excercise, or do your homework, or shower, or read, or anything to keep you away from food. Habits are hard to break, so make a new one to replace that old one.

I JUST started high school this year, and am amazed at the amount of work that is given on a day-to-day basis. I mean, seriously. 6 classes, each class has its own assignments, homework, classowork, etc. It's VERY hard to keep up.

All through middle school, I've been a straight A student. But now in High school, I've noticed that it's getting harder and harder to get perfect grades.


Now, my problem: I stress my self way too much over school. If there is an assignment due the next day, I won't go to sleep unless I have finished it...even if it means staying up until 5 A.M. I'll stay up until 6:00 A.M if I have to...JUST to get those A's. Same thing with studying.....I can NEVER just say "Screw it...I'll fail ...whatever"...NO...I'm too scared to do that. But, unfortunately, this method of mine is ruining me...I get NO sleep, my nutrition is low, my excercise levels are declining, and I'm constintantly studying. I even faint sometimes as a result of this (I have fainted in the past week...) I have incredible amounts of anxiety and panic attacks....even if it's the TINIEST thing.


I don't know how long I can keep this up. :( I know it's good for my future...and I know getting good grades is important...but to what extent? Is driving myself nuts REALLY worth it? Because I see some people get off with C's and B's and they're fine. This brings me to another issue: parents. My parents are fine with B's. (even though they want me to get A's)...they don't push me...or make me get A's. In fact, they tell me NOT to stress myself too much and that it's okay with them for me not to strive to be the best. Problem is: I WANT to be....but I want to get a chance to be a normal teenager once in a while and get a perfect amount of sleep.

I know there are people here with a lot of experience...Can you please tell me what to "do"? :(

I understand what you are going through, and it's tough. Do you participate in other things outside of school? Or are you constantly studying? If you do have other things going on, then maybe consider taking a break from them or thinning them out a little bit to give yourself more time.

If you're afraid that letting up on your schoolwork will lower your grades a lot, then I suggest you test it out first. If you have an assignment, try just doing what you think is the minimum amount of work needed to make a low A or a B. Most high school classes weigh tests and projects a lot heavier than homework.

Or, if it's studying too hard that is the problem, then maybe it is that you study inefficiently. You may need to take a class on study habits or get tutoring so that you can make studying easier. If you are spending hours memorizing something that you don't need to, then you'll make life so much easier if you can work around that.

Are you in any honors, or AP classes? If so, then consider dropping one to lighten your load.

Don't be afraid to take action. You are overdoing it-without a doubt. Every teenager needs their sleep, nutrition, and even a time to relax during the day, so make a change in your life. You will feel so much better!

Our orchestra [which I'm in] played with a band[they're kind of undiscovered but they are very very talented] and I enjoyed it very much [note that this isn't a high school side band or anything. They are very serious about it and earn their money with their music]

They were VERY VERY nice to everyone--especially the drummer-- he basically learned the names of 20+ people in the orchestra in 2 days and I got to talk with him a lot. And everyone in the band is so freakin nice like you wouldn't believe it! They took pictures with everyone and I got a hug from 4 of the members [few times from each one actually XD]. They even let few people go on their tour bus thing--which by the way was pretty awesome =]

But the thing is I know that there are many bands out there that are just nice for publicity and so they can advance up with the popularity chart [especially if they're not quite discovered] So I'm wondering how you could tell if they're just putting up an act or if they're really nice for real??

There's no way to be certain, but I'd think that it would be pretty hard to fake being nice, unless you did it all the time, which would mean you weren't really faking it. So, I don't think they're faking it, but I bet they make an effort to be nice for the reason you said. But hey, if they're talkin' to you and hugging you all the time-- sounds to me like they like you guys. Just my opinion.

Ok so...

There used to be this guy I was talking to about things & I liked him a lot. I actually fell in love with him. Anyway, I'm not still in love with him. But...everytime I said the wrong thing or felt guilty about what I said I would pray to God and ask him to tell him that I didn't mean what I said until I got to the obsessive point where I kind of felt like I was talking to him through my mind...like some weird physcho thing...
And there was this little voice like pretending to be him and talk to me back...maybe because I was lonely???
& Then i would keep doing it with other ppl until i got to this point...-
where i started to think really erotic thoughts and then the next person that came into my mind i felt like i was sending them those pictures of erotica after i blinked...
like emailing someone's mind????

Wow that's weird, but I don't think its a mental problem. I think maybe you are having trouble letting go of the love you had for him. You might just need to wait it out. I suggest getting out with other people a lot more. They'll relax your mind. Sometimes when I do a lot of repetitive things with my brain (like really hard math homework or one of those Sudoku puzzles) I find myself going to sleep solving imaginary problems with numbers in my head, which is absolutely crazy. But it goes away after I start doing something mindless.

alright, so i want to lose weight. any inspirational/motivational advice with tips on how to make losing weight successful?

please include like what i can eat for breakfast (a quick "to-go" meal would be great), for lunch, and for dinner.

also what exercising methods can i do? i do have a treadmill, so how long a day should i use it?

and how much weight can i lose the healthy way if i stick to it?

i am overweight so it's not gonna be easy to just "get right on it" so really help me out, and anyone with experience to give me advice would be great.

and for the "bonus" any great weight-loss products to recommend? i already use slim-fast shakes so any bars or desserts (healthy alternative ones) would be good.

I have lost weight before (about 15 pounds), but I gained it all right back because I did it the wrong way. I was working out a LOT, and I was eating just enough to support it. I lost a lot of muscle, but I still looked skinny and fit because I was working out. However, since I denied myself of anything sugary or "bad", I hit a point when I got lazy about my eating, and I began to allow myself that stuff. Now, I crave it all the time and I binge on it, and I have a nice layer of fat across my stomach, covering up all that beautiful muscle that I built up. So basically I did it for nothing...

My advice: Don't be in any rush. Allow yourself a small treat every night, or every so often.

I like to eat the Kashi brand cereals and granola bars: they're delicious and they fill you up and keep you full.

Drink water!!!! You'll feel full quicker, and you'll feel energized before those fun workouts. I suggest making it a habit to go for a jog every morning or afternoon not neccesarily on the treadmill... it gets boring :( Go at whatever pace you'd like. The only thing that matters is that you're creating a new lifestyle.

Change it up-- remember this is not temporary. It is forever, so make it exciting!

Okay, i really, really like this guy at school. i've liked him since last year and i've tried not to like him though, because there's a possibility he might not come back to my school next year. But, to my dismay, i'm still totally in love with him. See, last year he was in practically all of my classes, and this year, he's not in one on my classes. And the other day, he passed me in the hall and said my name in a drawn out voice, like, "Caaaaarrrie." and he smiled. and I was stupid and said "hello". I mean, what type of person says hello the way i did anymore. i felt like i made a fool of myself. Anyway, last year i think he liked me, he and i were the only two people waiting on someone to pick us up one day after school because we both were in the same club, and it was awkward. I mean, super awkward.It's just now that we've actually said something to each other, it would feel weird to walk up to him and tell him i like him. I really need some advice. What should i do???

Well, since you said it seemed awkward, then I suggest you hang around him more. That's kind of hard since you aren't in his classes. See if he wants to hang out with you and some friends sometime. Just get to know him better and then you'll feel comfortable enough to tell him how you feel.

Well I always hear 'Your so lucky your so skinny!' but then five minutes later I hear that someone is saying Im too skinny behind back or someone will ask me if Im anorexic to my face.

I dont have an eating disorder but somedays, like today, I dont eat anything all day cause Im not hungry and its 9 at night right now.

When I do eat I can basically eat whatever I want cause I dont gain anything.

Heres usually what I eat on a normal day like during the week for school.

Breakfast- usually nothing. sometimes a piece of toast.

Lunch- usually nothing unless I buy lunch, Ill eat about half of what they give me.

Dinner- my parents make dinner usually so I eat a meal for dinner or they get mad.

You obviously are not anorexic, but I think you could use some changes to your diet anyways. The fact that you normally skip breakfast is not good. Try to eat that piece of toast every morning, and then try adding a piece of fruit or a glass of milk or OJ. And you eat nothing at lunch?? You should eat at least a little, even if you are not hungry, because this means something is going on with the hormones in your body. They are telling your brain that you don't need food, but you still do.

I don't know why your hands shake exactly, but if they shake only on days when you don't eat, then it is probably the lack of food causes them to spaz out.

Ok, i have my best friend, lets call her (kristy) ans i have another friend, lets call her (shannon). Ok, well i always have had kristy as my best friend but ever since last year shannon has kinda made me feel like the third wheel. Ok, well she wont let me sit by kristy at lunch anymore cuz i used to everyday. Now, kristy has kinda left me for her and she hangs out with all these different people now. I have the same freinds she has but all the friends like her so much better. When me and kristy go to places together and stuff, like basketball games at our school all of our friends will say hi to her but not me. They think she is just so facinating. When she takes me to some of the games she always talks to other people and not to me and none of the other girls will talk to me cuz they already have kristy. When they have a secret they always tell kristy and not me and all sorts of things like that. I am tired of being ignored by other people. Kristy never hardly pays any attention to me. When its just me and her she does but not when people are around. All my other friends are just interested in her now and i am feeling so left out. They always ask her to go places with them (more of shannon than anyone)when i am standing right there. Sometimes shannon will wait for kristy when she gets off the bus and i ride the same bus kristy does and if kristy is not on the bus, shannon will say "Where's rikki" as soon as she sees me getting off the bus. She dosent even say hi first. It looks like kristy dosent need me anymore but all my other friends always hang around her now. Sometimes when i am tell kristy something (story and just talking to her), if kristy sees one of her friends she will just leave me standing there in the middle of a sentence and go talk to her friend. I have tried to talk to her but she dosent listen. She's just to popular to do that. Whenever we go to the computer lab at school, she always has other firends sitting by her and i have to sit 3 or 4 seats down from them and i hera them laughing and giggling and having a good time and i am not. please help me on what to do because this is the biggest thing i have ever needed advice on because it has been happening for a very long time. thank you so much, you dont know what it means to me.

It sounds to me like you're losing your best friend. That happened to me just recently, now please don't let it happen to you, you'll regret it. Sometime when you and kristy are hangin' out alone, show her how much fun you are to be with. Remind her why you two are best friends to begin with. And when you are with her when you're other friends are around too, be the center of attention. Don't make it obvious, but when they're talking, join the conversation. Make yourself noticed. Prove to them that you are a good friend, someone that they will want to be around. I'm sorry you're going through this, and I hope you can fix it. Good luck girl!

Alright, So I have a BMI is 23.21. I'm about 5'3 and I way 131 pounds.
My main issue is my stomache, the rest of my body I think looks pretty good.
I have a fat stomache, I've been doing crunches, sit ups, trying to eat healthier. Can anyone suggest anymore good ideas? Or workouts? Or types of food that increaces your matabolism?(sp)

But my main question is if I keep working on my stomache, and running, and exercising, through the this year, and during the summer, maybe by next school year I will be skinnier?
I want a flat stomache:(

If you want to burn fat, then do long cardio workouts. They burn the most calories. But you can't do that alone. You also have to do some resistance or weight training, which you are doing (situps, crunches). I suggest also doing some lunges, squats, and pushups. These will build muscle, which will be important in speeding up your metabolism. If you build muscle all over your body, the muscle will burn the extra fat in your stomach, even if the muscle is somewhere else. Eating right is important, so keep that up. Drink plenty of water, because that speeds up your metabolism too. Hope this helps you!

I run on the tredmeal and i try to eat healthy but i keep gaining weight, this morning i was 130 pounds this after noon i ram on the tredmeal for a hour and then tonight i am 132 pounds, i don't know how i am gaining weight :(.I would give enything at all to be skinny, some one please help me!

Don't worry, if you are properly hydrating yourself, then it is normal that you should weigh more after you run. You won't see results for a few weeks at least. You would have to run 35 miles in order to burn a pound. But if you run like 2 miles a day for 2 or 3 weeks, then you'll have accomplished that. Also, make sure you aren't eating a lot at dinner because your body can't burn it off before you go to bed.

Try to cut sweets, candy, fast food, and junk food out of your diet. It will be difficult at first, but that will change. After about 2-3 weeks of eating nutritional foods, your taste buds will desire those same foods more and more rather than the old things that you used to eat. From that point, it is SO easy, trust me it worked for me. Plus, I run for exercise (I listen to music and it goes by real fast) and I do push ups, lunges, and crunches because strength training will build muscle which increases your metabolism.

When i start school in a couple of days, I want to start eating breakfast (because i usually dont) so that my metabolism is faster and maybe i can lose weight. What are the best kinds of food you can eat to make that happen?

Drink a lot of water with your breakfast and do like 25 jumpjacks when you get out of bed. That is going to help you out. As for what you should eat, have some whole-grain cereal, toast, or oatmeal with a piece of fruit or a cup of yogurt. Try to stay away from the sugar loaded stuff like pop-tarts and froot-loops and donuts. They'll give you energy for a few minutes but then soon after you'll feel tired and hungry again. Eat things that will sit in your stomach for a long time, like an omlette. The foods won't speed up your metabolism enough to lose weight. But you eating lower calorie foods and being more active will. Good luck!
