A hicky is when you or someone else constantly sucks really hard on your skin. This causes all your blood to rush up, causing a bruise.

i'm currently a freshman in my second semester of college and i have a problem staying awake in my classes, even if i get adequate hours of sleep the night before!
i've tried drinking coffee during class (despite the caffeine, has not worked for me), bringing munchies, having a water bottle, doodling on my notebook, and vice versa. basically anything to keep me busy and awake! all of my attempts have failed...any ideas? (link)

You may have a concentration problem. Seek your doctor about getting prescriptions, there are many things you can take, Ritalin, Stratera, Adderall, and many others. But don't take too high of mg of w/e you take, that might make you sleepier.

I have this boyfriend and I need some serious advice. I love him do not get me wrong on what i am about to say. He is an alcoholic. It didn't bother me at first. He used to let me do what i wanted when i wanted and now it's like i have to beg and plead with him to do what i want to do. He expects me to be at his house as soon as i get off work. If i'm not he's mad and we fight. Not all the time but..the majority. He gives me a time to be home and i am . When i tell him a time he says he will do as he pleases.
sometimes he is real mean to me. I cry cause it hurts me. somdays it's like he doesn't want to be together anymore. So then i told him if you want me to leave i will leave. I will get my shit and never come back. Then he pleaded with me . he said no. I love you please don't leave. We play around and sometimes he plays to rough. It's like he doesn't care. I let him go to girls house or even be alone with a girl. But..if i do the same he accuses me of cheating.
He has only hitt me twice out of anger. I buy his cigs,his beer and any thing else he wants.Sometimes he calls me mean names and I've asked him not to. It feels somtimes like he wants hiss cake and he wants to eat it to. Please help me. I don't know what to do anymore. (link)

Girls are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. The boys don't want to reach for the good ones because they're afraid of falling & getting hurt. Instead they just get the rotten apples that are on the ground that aren't as good, but easy. So the apples at the top think that there is something wrong with them, when in reality, they are amazing. ok, so there is this boy that i have liked for a while now. he goes to a different school, but we talk everyday and get to hang out a lot. he broke up with his girlfriend about 2 monthes ago, and i figured that i would wait until now to tell him how i felt, so he could heel. well, i told him, and he really likes me too. he tells me that i'm really pretty and funny and all that good stuff. but when i asked him if he wanted to start dating in the near future he started acting weird to me. so i left it alone a couple days before i talked to him about that, to see what was up, now he won't talk to me. i'm wondering if maybe he's not over his girlfriend yet, or if he was just leading me on. please help, i'm totally falling in love here, and i need to know what to do before i cry again. thanks to anyone who will help.

It could be possible that he's still not over his girlfriend, he's not into you, or maybe he's not ready for a relationship right now.
Just keep being friends with him, and don't say anything about it, unless he does first. Just let things happen.

Yes, mono does have symptoms. Some common ones are: being tired a lot/stressed, coughing/soar throat, and unexplained weight loss.
You should talk to a parent or doctor about this to see if you have it. Mono is also known as "the kissing disease." You can get it from eating after someone, drinking after someone, and of course, from kissing someone.
If you do have mono, don't let anyone eat after you, don't let anyone drink after you, and don't kiss anyone! :P

First of all, you need to explain to your friend that rape is forced sex, and if her boyfriend forced her to have sex with him, then it wasn't her fault at all. You also need to tell her that you're there for her no matter what!
But, no matter what she says, you definitely need to tell someone! RIGHT NOW! It wasn't her fault, it's her boyfriends, and he should be severely punished for it. So, just tell someone!

Hi, I also thought The Grudge was extremely stupid and not scary at all. The most scariest,realistic movie I have ever seen is Joy Ride! And any movie with werewolves also scares me, like Cursed, it just came out yesterday, it's really scary, I jumped out my seat a few times. :P Another really scary movie is Wrong Turn. And a super-good movie that isn't scary is Homeroom...best movie ever!

He doesn't seem like a great boyfriend if he makes nasty comments about the way you look. I wouldn't call him back, but that's just me. So when you call him tell him how he made you feel when he said that and that it wasn't nice and you don't appreciate it at all. And also tell him that you think he needs to apologize and if this ever happens again, then it's over.

There's a 'rock event' (like a disco but with rock music) that goes on in my town every month or so, and most of my mates go to it. Out of the seven of us, five go (I don't). This place has a really bad rep. and most people who go there drink, smoke and do drugs, but of course my friends parents have NO IDEA about this. All of my five friends who go have gotten into smoking, and two of them are serious binge drinkers. One guy I know but am not great friends with also goes to this place and has gotten into illegal drugs, as has one girl I was kinda 'hi in the hallway' friends with, and she got expelled and charged by the police for it. Now my problem is, I will NOT stand by and watch my friends slowly kill themselves with a load of alcohol, drugs and cigarettes, but how can I stop them? I can't say anything about how dangerous it is because that's like preaching and they know the dangers but don't care. I am thinking of breaking friends with them...three of them are moving into my house in a couple of months and I have told the two of them moving in with me that smoke and drink that they can forget moving in if they think they can smoke in my house and they just laughed. I don't want to preach and I know if they don't want to stop I can't make them...but what do you think I should do? I am NOT standing by and watching them die. There's also the added problem that I am extremely asthmatic and being in a house with smokers would (I've checked this with a doctor) kill me within a month, but my friends won't listen to this either. I love them all loads but I am not putting up with this any more and I am not putting my life on the line because they are too selfish to stop smoking. CAN I make them see sense? Or should I just break friends and move on?

You seem like a really great person, that really cares for their friends. Well, I hate saying this, but it seems your friends don't care about you as much as you care about them. You could tell their parents what's going on, that may possibly get them to stop this. Otherwise, just forget them and move on, cause if they don't care about you like you care about them, then they aren't worth any of your time.

Well, I'm a little unsure if I should be upset or not.
Okay. Well my boyfriend and I have been dating for about 6 months now and I found out a few months ago that I was not his "first" (talking about making out.) He was mine without a doubt. But it's not just that i'm not his first that upsets me, it's with who. It's this girl from another school named elena. She's a slut and she knows it. My boyfriend "didn't even like her" he claims. But, what concerns me is that if he didn't like her, what if he made out with me and he "doesn't even like me." Am I upset over a stupid thing? I've just had my train track braces removed and been given a retainer. I didn't think to ask my orthodontist, but...if I wear my retainer more (like round the house after school as well instead of just at night), will it make my teeth more likely to stay in place or move quicker or whatever? Would wearing it more than just at night do more harm or good?

A retainer doesn't make your teeth move, it keeps them in place. It's not necessary to wear them for more then just at nightime. It won't do any harm, but you don't have to.

ok...over the summer I talked to this guy who was a year older than me like every night for hours. I liked him alot, looking back more that I thought. Anyway, when we started going to school together, it got really weird, and about tow months into the school year he got a girlfriend and would rub it in my face. I know how you feel. You get hurt and then you don't want to get attached and then get hurt again. That's what you have to do. Don't let yourself get attached. Keep convincing yourself that you don't like this dude. The more you do that the more he'll probably begin to like you. But just don't stay attached for now. Set your mind on other things, like school, extracurricular activies, and your friends.

Just organize everything. When you use something or get your clothes back from being washed, immediately put things where they belong. That way, you won't have to worry about cleaning up later and your room will stay clean.

I have growing marks or stretch marks on my upper theighs. I've tried excersising that area but I dont know a whole lot of upper theigh/butt excersises. Does anyone know of any that work?
Also, if anyone knows of anything that can either get rid of competely or at least hide the stretch marks I have now. I've heard to use a self tanner but that only made my skin dark and the marks lighter.

Well, stretch marks are just part of growing up, they will go away eventually. You can't really get rid of them unless you get surgery or something. Just put lotions on them to make them lighter.
