Ok so here's the thing, i have 5 days until football tryouts, i can run about a mile without to much trouble, but i want to increase my stamina more. Will i be able to make much improvement if everyday up until tryouts i do cadio training like this

It will definetly help you out with stamina, but you must make sure you are resting well too. You can train all you want but make sure you eat lots of carbs. Otherwise you won't perform well at the try out.

Baked Potatoe, pastas, they are all good for energy. Hope you do well :)

Same here. Best way is to actually get it to the roots and that's only by waxing unfortunately :( but that should do it if you can.


ok so i have medium to long blonde curly hair. i have side bangs and long layers.thick yet fine and an oval shaped face if that helps at all. i have a haircut planned soon and im not sure what would look stupendous???? like a lindsay lohan layered look? or what? but something that looks great whether i decide to wear it natural/curly or straight...???? I would suggest that you should get some weight off your hair by layering, don't go to short with overall length but definetly get it choppy and layered.


well I just went to my friend's house, and she has like a lot of things. more things than I do. like we had lots of fun till I had to leave. I mean she had tons of games, movies, her parents were great, she had tons of little things like lots of hats and etc so we dressed up and took pictures, a pet, and a pool! and the next time i want her to visit my house, but we don't have much to do. I mean we could go on the computer, I guess walk around and play in our park for a bit (even though our park isn't that fun since its made mostly for little kids), watch TV (we barely have any cool movies.. I guess I could get some from our library but the good ones always take long to get (long holds). btw we don't rent movies at my house), and other little things which can get boring. our backyard is a garden.. we cant sunbathe or anything cause theres garden snakes (theres no fence so it just leads to the woods) and well.. yeah. we dont have a basketball hoop, and we have a gamecube, and 1 game, but the game is missing and our controllers dont work anymore, really. we're not poor or anything, but we just dont have as many luxuries as my friend does. so when she comes over what fun things could we do? btw sleepovers arent an option, my parents wont let me host them or go to them (sucks, I know.)

Yeah EXACTLY my problem and im 16/f. So don't feel bad, I have a friend that is EXACTLY like them. She has cute dogs, cats, trampoline, pool, awesome parents, tons of makeups, home gym, home movies, yeah the list goes on and on. Whereas i live in a small apartment with very strict mom who wont even let my friends come over. But you can still do stuff like, bake. I know how fun is that? but that is actually fun if you are baking with your friend. You can like bake sugar cookies and decorate it together and stuff.

I was on couple different diet pills. First one was all herbal etc... I lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks but I gained it all back. Second was trimspa and i didnt lose ANY weight. So I ultimately started exercising and thats when i started to lose weight. So I am pretty sure all the diet pills don't work. My friend was on that, she actually gained more weight after she stopped taking one a day


ive been in summer school all summer and tomorrow is the last day. im going into high school this fall but i feel all alone. i dont fit in with any of the people ive met and i dont want to make friends. usually im a very energetic crazy person but i just dont get the point of trying to meet new people.
in middle school i had a lot of close friends that i still care deeply about and i feel lost without them. lately ive also been noticing that i might be falling for the closest person to me, my best friend in the world. i havnet seen him in over a month and i miss him so much. i love him and im afraid he'll find someone better than me and forget me completely....it sucks so much
im not the same without him ad all of my other friends. but they all went to the same highschool, all except me.
at my school everyone is white. and the girls are really girly and rich and i dont fit in with them. im poor, im not white, im like a tomboy and no one gets that. i just want to feel loved. i want to be with people who i can be myself with, i cant hide behind girliness. its just not my thing...
so i thought i should apply for the school where all my friends are going. i feel like if i dont see them ill slowly deteriorate. im already slowly fading. and im so sad. but its hard to get into that school and it might be too late for this year. can i apply for second semester? thank you. (link)
Hey I know what you mean. I was so dead scared to start High school. My best friend was going to a different school and even though i had friends lot of people thought i was weird and all that. Also i am not white and i lived in a trailer, definetly not rich and i definetly dressed tomboy. Playing guitar and skateboarding and stuff.

However I can assure you, high school turned out pretty good. I am going to my 11th grade and 10th grade year was one of my best year of my life.

ALso who says you have to be friends with girls? I am not saying you should be mean to them or anything but you don't have to be all OMG LIKE YEAHHH and be friends with them. Just be polite to them. And make friends with guys. that's one of the up side for being a tomboy.

Also all school is different so you might have to call the school itself to find out. If you are really polite and ask nicely they might change the rules for you.

When i wanted to go to this school i had to try out for (which i didnt because i didnt know i would want to go to that school) I had to call the school and talked directly to the vice principal and she let me have my OWN try out.

im a girl going to 8th grade next year. most of my life my hair is in braids cause im african so my hair is curly and hard to manage by itself, and stuff. my mom doesnt want me to get a perm now cause she thinks like the chemicals will leak in my skin and all my long hair will eventually fall off. so im thinking of hairstyles for next year.. should i get weave, microbraids, or any other braids or hairstyles in style now (dont say cornrows)? Actually I think you should go with weave because you had braids all the time. I am not african american but I use weave extensions and glues and all that and they don't cost that much. You can get them for no more than 50 dollars. You can use glue but that will probably come off easy, so you can get your hair braid and sew it in your hair. If you are not sure about that, ask the people at beauty supply store.


so school is almost starting and i want to get into better shape. im going to be very busy because i am in the marching band and that is like 24/7 so i dont have a huge option. i want to tone up my stomach...ALOT. and my legs just a tad. im not sure if i have time to go running so i am stuck with a bike that doesnt move and anything i can do in my room.

if i do sit ups or crunches how many should i do a night? school for me starts on the 5th. i want to try to get as much done as i can. im not expecting alot becuase i know it is a short period of time so please do not tell me its hopeless or whatever. how long should i go on that non moving bike thingy? what other stretches?

Crunch is same as sit up except when you go up, you only go up half way up. It puts lot of pressure on your back and neck though. So it really doesn't work out your leg. Hope this helped :D


That is great you want to get in shape. Well I am also into toning my abs and legs so this is what i do. I do at least 200 sit ups a day. Not all at once, I used to but not anymore. You can do them like 50 in the morning, 50 after school and 100 before bed or something like that. You can divide them up into 50 and do 4 sets of those.

And I say sit ups because if you are going to do crunches, might as well do sit ups because sit ups also tones your leg and crunch isn't really that affective. Do as many as possible actually. 200 at least though

Bike exercising should be at least 30 min. Most exercise require to do at least 30 min before it actually works your body out.

You can do squats for leg. And I also had problem with cellulite problem. I mean i didn't have really really bad one but I still saw weird dimple like things on my thighs. (I am leg heavy =[) but squats definetly help. I can tell you that for sure from experience :D

I'm extremely athletic, but I have to run a 5:50 mile, so I was wondering:
Does like adrenaline make you run faster? Like "fight or flight?"
If so, how can you make your adrenaline higher?

What I did was increase my stamina first. So try running 3 miles or up, so you can gain some stamina. After you get comfortable running some distance try going for a mile. That should help out a lot.


Okay, I'm getting bored with my workout music and it's not motivating me anymore cause it's so predicatable. So I need to switch it up.

I don't like repetitive techno songs so I want strictly fast R&B/Hip-hop songs or 80's/early 90's songs. As long as they're upbeat.

It needs to last me 60 minutes so suggest as many as you want.

Okay so I've been talking to this guy for about a month over the phone and like he is soo sweet and he told me he loves me. Okay well thats not the problem, the confusion comes from him telling me he'll call me and never does or that when he doesnt call i get all "he doesnt like me" and ive never in my life liked someone this much and i havent ever met him in person. Why do i get so upset with myself when he doesnt call? I'm scared i'm going to mess this whole 'relationship' up before it ever gets started and i have commitment issues and i know i do, but i want to be with him. Does age have anything to do with this cause he is 24 and i'm 18? this has got me all confused and worried and upset. any advice would be gratefull. thanks so much.

Wow your story kind of remind me of myself. Such as getting all worked up if a guy doesnt call when he said he would and having committment issues. But if he really likes you, age shouldn't really matter. That's not that big of a difference anyhow. Also, instead of getting worried about him not calling you, why dont you confront him about it? Don't state it in a hostile manner but in a curious way. Just wanting to know the simple truth. I used to think the same thing and all that with my bf. But after I heard him out, he had reasons why he didnt call me nor picked up his phone.

Him forgettning to call you isn't a real good reason but at least he wasnt looking at another girl. But if that persists, you should tell him that you don't feel you are that important to him. although guys are forgetful naturally.

And really don't worry, I used to go through the same thing. Hope everything works out :D

Answer to your gift problem. It all really depends on your budget.

If your budget's good, get her some gift cards at clothing store she shops. Or if your budget's so so, go with this one. Everyone loves SOME kind of music. So try to find out, or you should know, what type of music she's into. CD would be really nice, or DVD's good too. But make sure she doesn't have them.

Also the way you should dress will say on the invitation if it was going to be specified. However if you really have no idea or it doesnt say, then wear a dressy top with skirt. Then no matter what kind of party it is, you will look appropriate.

Unless it was backyard BBQ kind of thing.

Or you can just flat out ask your friend what type of clothes will be appropriate. I'm sure she will be more than glad to tell you :)

Hey that is really great you are doing that! I also went through same thing. I am not the popularest person nor even that popular but I do know lot of people and have lot of friends that are in different group and stuff. I also dressed tomboy ish and not girly.

Most importantly, you dont want to make a drastic change, or many people will think you are a poser or not being yourself. So just try with cute tanktop and cami and then move onto adding some cute accesories like beaded necklaces and headbands and purse.

Also to make new friends in different group, it might be easier for you since you are sporty. Definetly join a sports team in your school. That will definetly make you more open. As cliche as it sounds, smile goes a long way. Not a fake looking one of course, just a genuine smile will be nice. It will make you more approachable. Also it will be nice to compliment people that are GENUINE. Don't go around saying "OMG i totally love your hair, your clothes, your shoes like yeahhh!!" That is major dont. But if you see something you really like, and she's not really your friend, it will be nice for her to hear and then it can lead on to you asking her where she got it and more conversational topics open up.

Flats. They look realllly awesome with skinny jeans. Especially slip ons if you are going for more hardcore lookg :)
or heels look good too.

As for top, you would probably want it something that's flowy, unless you are going for scene/emo hardcore look. Then you can wear something tight like band shirts or whatever.

But if you are going for girly look then go with flowy tunics. Or a cute tanktop

Big jewelry would go well like you know, those beaded necklaces that are chunky. Or chain necklaces. like long chains of gold or silver with cute charms.

As for color, I think it just depends on how you play it with the top, shoes, and jewelry.

But here are colors that i dont think it will work with gray. Green. Bright greens. Hot Pink (although light pink will be pretty). Anything too saturated and bright. Then you will be good.

I used to think that too. I was getting used to all the guys at school so i rather preferred one out of school.

Here are some places that guys go to you and where you can meet them.

-Skatepark. That is a deadgiveaway. Always cute guys hanging there. No problem finding a guy there

-Music store. (guitar store, cd store, etc.)

-Mall.

-even WalMart and other shopping places

-Basketball court

-Beach

-Shows (band shows, etc.)


Okay I am 16/f to start off :)

My height is between 5'6'' and 5'7'' and I weigh around 145lbs.

I used to be 180 lbs around about 2 years ago and I am glad I've lost that weight. However I am still not comfortable with my weight at all.

I even had minor eating disorder like bullimia and anorexia. But I never starved for over 3 days because it was pretty much impossible to not eat when my mom makes me eat infront of her. So I was bullimic on and off. Not throwing up everythign I eat. Only doing it when ever i thought i ate too much. Which I dont do that any more neither.

So I am sure I killed my metabolism then. So I am going on a new road without any eating disorders and I;ve been working out pretty regularly for 2 months now.

I used to jog about 4 miles but now I jog for 2-2.5 miles. I breakdance about 20-30 minutes here and there. I lift two 3 lbs dumbells when I workout my arms and do sit ups. (i am planning to do 200 sit ups, i used to do over 500 but then i stopped and now starting again)
and after my jogging, I practice my handstand and cartwheels.

I don't think I overeat, nor snack that much. In fact I dont eat junkfood at all, however there are days when I just go too crazy from depriving myself from it, I guess I eat junkfood sometimes.

For breakfast I eat a big bowl of cereal(which i am trying to eat the serving size now)

Lunch, i eat whatever my mom makes me. but she balances it out really good with veggies and meat

In fact I love eating veggies and we eat fruits for snacks

So why am i not losing any weight? My goal weight is to be 125 lbs

Okay the short version. I eat healthy, I dont eat junkfood(if i do, it would be like one day out of the whole month) and I eat veggies and fruits over any other things. I exercise at least 1 hour a day. So why cant i lose weight?


im 5'8" and i weigh 170 lbs. my doctor says its good cause im not like skinny im "big boned" and i have broad shoulders and im stronger than most people but like i still have some fat in some places.
annyway is this weight normal for my height and my build?

Well the "AVERAGE" range for your height should be from 140 lbs. Plus and minus 10 pounds that weight is fine too.

BUT that's just the standard for GENERAL people. Not counting the muscle in your body nor how your body is built. Like you said, your bone mass, because some people DO have bigger bones and all that.

If you want to get technical than your bone mass and all that should get into consideration, which I think your doctor already did and if he says its normal than I think it is too.
