I exercise for 45-60 minutes a day on one of those bicycle things in my house...and I have a few questions. First, is this a good amount of time in order for me to loose weight? If so, how long will it take me to loose 10-15 pounds (with a good diet)? Second, is it normal for my thigh muscles to swell afterward? Third, I don't want my thighs to be huge with muscle...they alreay are muscular. Will this work out do more fat-burning or muscle-building?

I will answer your question one at a time and then explain the whole thing :)

1. Yes it is a great amount of time

2. It depends on your weight and height as of now... If you are overweight, you will lose weight faster, if you are already pretty fit then it will take longer. So it could take little as three weeks to over 3 months.

3. I am not sure about your muscle swelling thing :( sorry

4. Sadly your legs are the ones thats getting worked out so you will build up some muscle in your leg but I am sure you won't get those body builder muscles (to put it simply) however it IS a leg workout mostly... so if you don't like it then you might want to think of the alternatives...

That brings me to my conclusion, it's great that you are exercising for that amount of time and with a good diet you will definetly see results sooner or later. As to if you don't want muscle in your legs then I suggest you stretch and do pilate exercise afterwards to cool you down... (I do the cross country and I jog/run when i am off season but I always do other form of exercise such as pilate to give me LEAN muscle not bulky muscle) don't exercise so vigoriously that you can't even cool down. Maybe that's why your thigh muscles swell...Exercising too hard. I've experienced that if I push myself too hard (after taking off from exercising for a while to start back up) things happen... I've blacked out for a moment, and my legs collapsed after i got off the exercise machine (the one you are talking about) so if you are a beginner, take it slow. Don't over do it that you won't last long. It's not about you doing it as much as you can, it's about controlling your body and keep exercising daily.

Yes like the last person said, you need to post your height because every inch can determine how much is the average weight...

Here is how it gets broken down.

5 foot is 100 pounds... Every inch adds on 5 pounds.

So if you are 5'1'', then average weight for that height should be 105 lbs.

I mean i guess many people just assume that first time you have sex you will bleed because you tear your hymen. But that's not the case for EVERYONE.

Alrighttt!! Skateboardin question !! LOL okay well

Basic THINGS to learn on skateboard should be...

1st... your stance... whether you are regular stance or goofy. regular stands with left foot in the front. and Goofy is right foot in front. Whatever makes you feel comfortable.

2nd... learn to ride it of course... then turn...

3rd... Basic to all the tricks. Ollie.

4th... if you get good at all that, try different style of boarding. Such as Vert style, street, freestyle. Learn new tricks like kickflip, manual, and so on


First thing first, its good you dont want cheap board. Buying a deck from wal mart is fastest way to get the crappiest board.

Buy a good set of TRUCKS. Trucks will last you for long time so invest in those. What makes the board a decent price is that its BLANK! dont go buying a graphic one, that's what makes it expensive.

If you need for me to explain what trucks, wheels, decks to buy, let me know. I just wanted to make this simple so you get the general idea but ill be glad to help out :D

Okay everyone will probably tell you SIT UPS. No its not just sit ups.

Health magazines stated that if you have excess body fat around your ab region, you can do all the sit ups you want, but you are not gonna be able to see your six pack. But I am assuming you aren't overweight.

And lucky you, its easier for guys to get six pack. I mean i've been doing like 200 sit ups for long long time, sometimes i did like over 1000 but i dont have them because im a girl :(

but eat protein like chicken to help you grow muscle.

Do sit ups at least 200 a day. More the better of course but dont strain yourself.

I am very outgoing and can usually carry conversations very well if there are 3 or more people, however if it is just me and one other person, I can't seem to keep a conversation going. Any tips on how to keep conversations going and not make it awkward? (link)
Well it depends on the gender of that other person.

If its a girl...

-compliment on her shirt,shoes,accesories, whatever you GENUINELY find it nice. Don't fake it because it will seem way obvious. after that, you can ask where she got it and all that. And talk about places she like to shop at.

-if she's not really fashion forward/interested then you can talk about tv shows, recently watched movie, song.

-if she's big on music, then you can ask if she got to go to concert or something. If she's into rock/screamo/emo/indie/alternative, you can ask her if she got to go to the Warped Tour. etc.

Now for guys, that warped tour thing definetly works for guy as well. In fact the best way to approach to a guy, or so i found, is through music.

Sports. Yes, another fast way for a guy to start talking and keep on talking. Get interested in sports yourself so you wont choke during middle of a conversation. OR!!! if you don't know, then you can ask about a sports and they can explain it to you thus they are carrying on a convo.

Most importantly, just make them feel relaxed because they will probably worry about that too. Joke around, ask open ended question, instead of yes or no. Be interested in what they do. Video games, sports, or whatever it maybe.

Tank top. That is just pretty much anywhere. It's simple but that is one of the thing you can wear it with

-skirt
-jeans
-shorts
-bermuda shorts

and you can make it stand out with beaded necklaces. Plain and simple yet its very cute also

I understand that most school wont let you wear a tanktop by itself (although my school's letting some people slide by...) so you can buy a cute short sleeve cropped cardigan to just wear it over your tank top

and I saw this really cute shrug/sweater thing at Hollister. it was around 45 dollars. lots of compliment on that one.

Also plaid bermuda and shorts are very cute.

Skinny jeans are pretty much over so to say from the magazine, and now wide leg pants are in. Don't buy more than one pair though. That might go out of style

Most important thing to remember though. These are super don't on first day

1. DRESSING SLUTTY. Nothing too short or revealing! that will leave you a lasting impression from other people not to mention teachers

2. DO NOT OVER ACCESORIZE. you dont want to look like you are trying too hard and all that.

3. NO CRAZY MAKEUP. Just mascara, light!! eyeshadow, and lipgloss. Nothing dramatic like green eyeshadow and dark eyeliner and red lipstick.

4. JUST BE YOURSELF. If you are a t shirt with a jean kind of girl, dress that way, just accesorize it to make yourself stand out a little bit.

The school I go to goes from 7-12 grade, and in 9th grade you get new students [it's an exam school]. I'm really shy by myself, and I really would like to meet a lot of new people this year. I'm fine when I'm with my friends, but if I don't have anyone I know well in a class, then I just don't talk.

Well like last person suggested, you should try to talk to people around you. That's how I always start out.

Ask if they understand what the teacher's saying or something if its a math class.

Borrow a pencil or paper and of course smile big and say thanks

Ask for time.

Ask what class they have next.

Compliment!!! That's always good. But be genuine. Don't be like "OMG I fricken LOVVVVE your shirt, your shoes, your pants, and yeah like your whole outfit!!!"

No actually you DO gain calorie if you put food long enough in your mouth for flavor. I've been interested in that field for over 2 years and I've heard stories about people who are anorexic. They just put food or just chew(most they do it that way) and spit it out thinking they won't gain the calorie but yes in fact you do gain calorie. Not the whole thing of course though.


Recently I've been hanging out with this guy that I had never hung out with before. He is really nice guy, he's kinda cute but I'm more into personality than comes looks. Anyway so he's really nice, and I think he's kind of hitting on me. He added me on myspace so he seen that clearly i love the tv show the hills and he mention something like "oh i like that show the hills" even tho i think he doesnt know anything about it so that kind of gives me the first idea that he does and hes just trying to get my attention. Than i was in my friends car and i was like i look so much better in this car that you do [ it was a guy ] ands hes like yea you do you look good in any car.. or something like that. I don't think i'm fat but just a little over weight i just want to loose a few pounds not a lot to be like super skinny! I want to be average so i eat a little bit but balance meals i try to get away from sweets but i exercise till i literately drop! But i don't lay a sweat can i loose weight without sweating because i hardly ever sweat. Like in school when we are in Gym Nothing! An when i exercise till i can't do anything anymore nothing no sweat comes down! so can i loose weight without sweating?

I've read few articles saying that sweating is really related to losing weight. So don't worry about it.

For example, my abs are getting toner and toner because i do over 200 sit ups but that doesnt make me sweat. you know?

So try working out for a month and see your result.

Or it may be that you are not hydrate enough. Remember to drink lots of water during the day.

And exercising till you drop isn't really good. I used to be like that, and there were few times where i've gone too far that i almost blacked out. I collapsed and i guess it was minor one so its called greyout but yeah.

Taking a break here and there isn't bad. In fact when I workout, little break after working out is when I sweat the most.

5'3, 100 lbs. yeah i lost abuot 25 pounds in maybe 4- 4 1/2 months. i went to the doctor for an eating disorder and i just dont eat enough so ive been told to eat more, i lost muscle though. i do obsess over food, weight, sorta. but my blood and everything was healthy so its like i have an eating disorder mind but a healthy body. i don't want to gain fat, but i need more muscle. i am in cheerleading and i can barely do what i was able to do before. i just don't have the stregnth. i want to be able to tumble and stuff but if i eat more (healthy foods not fat foods) i dont want to just gain fat. help! what can i do for muscle, i dont have weights really, or a gym, basically a trampoline and a sedimentary bike. Hey its okay I was the same way, now they consider this as an eating disorder, called Orthorexia. I was really obsessed over food, and weight of course.

First of all, you should try to gain muscle in your body overall. Do push ups for arm muscle. It might be hard at first but if you keep on practicing it will help. And it really does help if you buy a LIGHT weight such as 3 lbs dumbells. I know you said you didnt have weights but that can be bought at Wal Mart for really cheap price. And it reallly defines your muscle and give you strength. Also trying handstand helps too. Start off using the wall and then go for it without it slowly.

For ab muscle, SIT UPS. do about 200 a day. You dont have to do them all at once. Do them in reps like 50 per rep and do 4 reps. or however you want them. Also if you are just starting out, 100 or 50 is a good way to start.

Leg muscles can be achieved from jogging. No denying in that so if you can jog for 20-30 min a day. That'd be great.

Lastly, TRAMPOLINE is a great bodywork OVERALL. Also very fun!

As for eating, lean meats are good because they give you the energy but low in fat. Chicken is very good source of protein which is the main source that will help you gain muscle.

Also if you are going jogging, eating baked potatoe and pasta is good. But if you don't work those off then it goes to fat because they are starch.

I figured, if you really lay off junk food, or have in moderation, it doesn't really matter what you eat. Just rememeber not to eat junkfood!

Water is also very good!

Ha its okay i used to play with barbies till i was around 14/15. No one really found out or anything but I kinda admitted I had barbies. But I told them I used them as a "model". Since I was interested in fashion, i'd say i drew out designs and make clothes in barbie size and all that. So you are admitting you have dolls but for a reason that's not as embarassing.

It really depends on where you are going. If you are going out to a nice dinner, to the movies, to a park.

Whatever it is, you can always play it up with jewelry and layering your clothes.

If you are going for a casual date, there's nothing cuter than a simple tank top and big beaded necklace and shorts/or skirt. That is always the cute classic i must say :D

Me and my BFF(rachel) both like the same guy(Zach). I know she is angry that i flirt w/ him. I get angry when she flirts w/ him. Yes, i have talked to her about what would happen if one of us went out w/ him. She says shes fine w/ it. But it was so obvious that she wasn't a few days ago(when we had a "party" and he was there). I feel really bad about flirting w/ him and i have nightmares about me going out with him and kissing and she gets angry and runs away and never speaks to me again.

Well answer to your feedback is, that truthfully, there's isn't really a way to change your friend's mind. I mean we all wish we can do that but sadly that won't happen until she sees that you are her true friend and she should respect that. I know trying to talk is hard because you tried but next time she gets mad, ask her and tell her, "why are you always getting upset when I flirt? I dont get mad at you for flirting. It's a fair game you know." So I think the best way to do is, just figure out who HE likes so you guys can settle for sure. If he likes you then she should leave it as that. No question asked. hope this helped :)

and oh yeah about being alone, here's a great idea to find out if he likes you and get him alone. Ask him to hang out. If he wants to invite other usual people, simply say, "i was hoping that it would be just you and me" and if he seems eager then he likes you. And there, you can pop the question about who he likes. Of course tell him you like him first though.



I know what you mean, guy coming between two best friends. I was in that situations a lot actually. My friends and I always seem to have same taste in guys. Personally i have never lost a friend over that whether the guy chose my best friend or when a guy chose me. I mean it might make her very jealous but if she is your friend she would be happy for you and not try to ruin what you have with the guy. I mean there was a time when me and my best friend really liked this guy and we both agreed that if one of us gets it, we should be happy for each other and be thankful that at least its one of us getting the guy. The guy chose my best friend, I was jealous i must admit but soon I saw i shouldn;t feel jealous. I mean it was agreed on and I was beginning to feel very happy for her. Hope this helped :)
