Hi everyone! Im 14 years old, i live in Sweet Home Alabama. I love playing basketball, going to church, and hanging with my friends. i also love the computer/internet. I am a Baptist Christian (if you need to talk about anything pretaining to christianity or whatever IM me) and im willing to share about my faith. Hope you enjoy my column!
Im sick of school (middle at least) i cant wait till this summer when i go to the beach and hang with my friends and my family. If you ask a stupid inapropriate question, then im gonna give you a stupid inapropriate answer.
Im not like most guys. (no, im not gay) I dont like fire or fireworks. Im not perverted or nasty, im not looking for a girlfriend. im not the kind of guy who looks at girls butts as they walk by, i dont care how bug your butt or boobs are. i dont care what you look like, im happy with smart, funny, good sense of humor, and someone who enjoys life. I just enjoy life, i dont care what people say or think about me. i have plenty of friends that love me, and thats all i need. My family is really good, but im not perfect, i have my problems and imperfections.. but im living. Living a great fun filled life.

Hey. I'm going on Islands of Adventure (a theme park in Orlando, Florida) on Thursday on a field trip. I was wondering if someone will give me some advice about it.
For example, how much money should I bring?
Do I need a bathing suit?
Or a towel?
Are there any specific souvenirs I should buy?
Can I bring a camera?
What are some good rides?
What's the best ride?
How long is the average wait ride?
And some other information would be helpful.

just bring as much money as you would like. it depends on how big of a spender you are. but things there are pretty expensive. bathing siut... possibly.. if you want to do some of the water rides.. i dont hitnk there are many though, cant remember well. you can bring a camera. i think the best ride is The Hulk, its a roller coaster. BUT, be SURE to ride the vertual reality Spiderman.. its AWSOME. the wait can be really long, but you can get a pass things, the machines are next to the entrances of the rides, and it will give you a time to come back later and you can go to the front of the line. all in all, its a BLAST, i had TONS of fun, you will LOVE it.

sorry is this is long but I really need help so please don't skip over it
Ok my parents have been divorced my whole life I don't even know who my dad is. Well my mom has serious problems with finding guys. They usually beat her or cheat on her. I've had about a dozen stepfathers and all of them treat her like shit and she doesn't deserve that. Well my newest stepfather Richie has been with my mother for 2 years now and she is really happy with him. I've never seen my mom this happy before. He is soo nice to her. But the thing is he has a son (my stepbrother) who is constantly hitting me and raping me. I tried talking to my mom about it and she said that she would talk to my stepdad and my stepbrother. She did and then it stopped for a little while but then he did it again and it was even worse than it was before. He had a couple of his friends over and they thought that it would be fun to beat and rape his 14 year old step sister. I talked to my stepdad and he told me to stop making things up. He told my mother that I was making things up and they sent me to a shrink. Needless to say my stepbrother continued to do these things to me. I confronted my mother again and she told me to talk to my stepdad. I did and he told me that I was lying and that even if I wasn't I needed to get over it because we are a happy family and we all have to make sacrifices I told him that that was wrong and he hit me! Now he's been hitting me too when my mom isn't around. I don't know what to do. She is soo happy and she deserves to be. I don't want to ruin this for her. My question is should I just deal with this so that she can be happy or is there anyway that I can get help without ruining this for her? (link)

tell your mom as soon as possible. its is very important. and dont just say that if it doesnt stop then your going to to police. you tell her, and if she does somehitng about it or not, you still go to the police... your stepbrother deserves everything you can dis out at him. and if your mom doesnt do anyhitng about your stepdad either.. then she has a problem. just make sure you tell her..

Ok I am not happy with my life right now....and I have no idea why...I have friends and a bf who cares soo much about me...I'm a good student and I'm Secretary of my class at school...I have a lot going for me but I feel so empty inside...Please dont think that this is just for attention because thats why I cant tell my friends how I feel...I just feel like I need help...most of those things I said above were true but I messed up most of my friendships and lied to my bf about things. I was friends with this girl named Tina for a whole grade before we grew apart. REcently, her mother died from cancer, and whenever I saw her after that she acted like she was fine, so I always made sure to act cheery and bright around her, and to pretend as though it never happened. My other friends all tell me I'm heartless and pretending like it never happened to her is just going to make it worse. What do I do? (link)

i have a friends whos mom recently died. but its different for everybody. both you and your friends are right. dont go out and say stuff about her mom dieing though, that will deffinetly make it worse. and everytiem your around her you cant act all sad and scared in a way, it will make her think about it too much. but you do need to be there for her, if she says somehting about it then you need to talk to her. be a friend. keep being cheerful, get her mind off of your mom, so she can have fun.

I am completely obsessed with my friend. I moved to where I am now when I was 12, just before 7th grade (I'm now 15 and in 9th grade). There's this one pretty, athletic 'popular girl' that I saw and befreinded. We became friends, and I had her spend the night at my house and all- I also became friends with her best friend, and had both of them spend the night quite a few times. I thought everything was going good, but in January- it was then I noticed that neither of them had ever invited me to spend the night at their houses at all. They had never invited me to do anything, or ever called me. I thought in time they would. At camp that year, it was terrible. They had friends there they ignored me for. All of them would sit on Her bed, leaving me alone on my own. I tried to get them to notice me, sitting their alone, with no luck. When we were all setting up chairs of where to sit, they all got seats and didn't save me one, and I sat alone behind them, trying to blink back tears. The next year at camp was the worst so far. She and her friends ditched me worse than ever the intire time. It was a nightmare. Well, in late July, I confronted her on aim. It was terrible. I was all like YOU ALWAYS IGNORE ME AND I JUST GOT TIRED OF IT and she's all 'you should have told me'.anyhow, few months later i watched her and her best friend with some others walk off to go do something, while i watched trying HARD not to cry. its now like 6 months later, and i have new friends but all lyrics of every song i write is about her. every song i hear is about her. every day at school i think about her. every night at home i think about her. in everything i do, i think about her. i can't help it. i dream about her. i don't know what to do- i thought i was over her before, but i guess i'm not. i just want it all to be over.
I guess I'm so obsessed with all the pain she caused me because I've never had a boyfriend and so I've never had my heart broken. But she, she taught me how to bleed. I think about her more than any other person. I even dream about her, I dream that we're friends, best friends, and she laughs with me and throws her arms around me...
I just can't take it anymore... How can I get over this? How can I make it STOP? (link)

this is kinda weird. it almost sounds like love in a way. you must have really wanted this girl to like you, to notice you and to be friends with you. i think you should just completely focus on something else, try finding an even better friend. but it really does seem like love, you cant stop thinking about her, you dream about her, and so on... i dont know... you need to find out what it is thats making you not be able to get your mind off of her. find out who you are in the inside. let your mind wonder.

Oh so my friend cuts..but she hasnt in like 2 weeks. i knew about it since she started (shes been doing it for like 1 and a half months). so today this morning she told our other 2 friends, she didnt tell them before cuz she didnt want them to get mad. my friend (the cutter)told my other 2 friends NOT to tell anyone like a teacher or any body. but 1 did it anyway. and now my friend (the cutter) is all mad at the 1 girl who told. i dont know what to do. so what should i do. ive been supporting my friend (the cutter one) through all this. but what else should or can i do? to be honest you should have told a while ago. but you may not have known what could have happened. when someone cuts it becomes addicting and everytime they do it they loose more and more blood. i know somone who had a friend that cut, and the one i know was the only one who knew. she didnt tell anyone about it, the girl who cutt ended up dieing, and she felt like it was all her fault. all because she didnt want to loose her friendship with this girl. yea, well i think shes lost it now. your friend needs to stop cutting herself. she could end up dead, but she needs friends to help her. you can be one of those friends.

Hey guys ok well .. two of my 'so called best friends' have just like .. ditched me & come up with excuses of why they hate my guts. One of my best friends [not one that hates me] i dont really know if i can trust but everything seems to be fine. But in the past we've had a number of fights and they might be like ruining our friendship. She says everything is ok though. And for my one, true best friend.. she has always stayed true but the two friends who hate me are like trying to turn her against me. I dont think they'll ever be able to though, we've been best friends for like, ever. I just want to know what I should do. Should i make more friends? if they dont like you anymore and they are mean to you, they arent worth your time. if you still want to be friends with them find out what the reason is they dont like you anymore. and if you find out, see if you can do anyhting about it. if that doesnt work, just ignore them and stick with the people who actually like you.

This guy in my class hates me. I like him a lot, and he used to like me. I don't know why he doesn't like me anymore. I can't eat, i can't sleep, and i can't think about anything but him.... he's everything to me and i know that guys will run if u say that to them so no one knows but me how i feel. I told him i really liked him but he just told me to fuck off. He's constantly making fun of me and i don't know what to do. Everytime he makes fun of me it hurts me really bad and there's nothing i can do about it it seems.... last week i was in the bathroom crying because of what he said. if he hates you that bad, for a reason you dont know, then hes a waste of time. and i know it may be hard for you to think that because it sounds as if your in love. but really... no matter how hard it is you need to get over him if he strongly dislikes you like that... so you can meet new guys, you know? but i always tell everyone this when it comes to somehting like this: follow your heart.

hi there people really bother me in school, i dont have much friends and they all tease me. boys call me a mutt and a dog and disguting pig, im not fat though and im not reallly ugly. girls bark and moo at me and push me and im sick of it, i have 2 bestfriends but they dont stick up for me. if these people knew what i been through like, my dad died when i was 6 and my bothers friggen a crack head, ligit and my sisters a big whore who doesnt talk to the whole fam.. i dont have anyone and im sick of it, what should i do? sometimes people can be so mean, so ruthless, and they just dont even take the time to realize what they are doing. i think the best thing to do would be to just ignore them, completely shut them out. dont let them know they are getting to you. if that doesnt work, sometimes to make a change, you have to take physical action. (but only as a last resort) i know it must be hard for you, if only people could take a step into people like your's shoes, to see what its like. just try to enjoy life, mo matter how hard it is.

you cant force anyone to be better friends with you or to talk to you about stuff. its just the way people are, nobody is perfect, dont get mad at her about it. it would be okay to tell her how you feel, but dont be too harsh. just keep being her friend, dont complain about her not coming to you. some people just clcik... and your friend and the other girl may just click in that area. you can be there for her in different areas of her life, mabey to just be a friend, or give and incouraging word.

i have a really complicated sitch but here it goes: ive been with guy A for a bit over a month and since hes really shy, he wont talk to me or make time to be with me.he doesnt like talkin on the phone, in person and he never checks his email. i was the one that asked him out for this reason. he said he liked me and everything but he never shows it and im guessing its cuz hes a bit immature.
anyway, guy B has been my friend for a lil while and i got him together with one of my girlfriends (cuz he liked her) then she broke up with him for no reason...hes a sweetie and did everything to make her happy (he was goth and he kinda changed for her) its been 5 weeks since they broke up and i was talking to him about guy A and how i wasnt sure about him. he told me that bad side about him and how i should wait or just be paitient. then when he was helping me (after talking for 5 hours online) he admitted he liked me. im so confused... i like them both and well im on the verge (dumping guy A) and guy B is on the rebound so i dont know if its "real". please give me your honest view and help. ill rate you for answering honestly...not just go with the first thing that goes through your mind. i think that you should wait just a little but longer. for one, to see if your boyfriend now will loosen up and two to see if you actually do like guy B. if guy A doesnt loosen up and you stiull like guy B then definetly break up with guy A and go for guy B. but if guy A loosens up, then give him a while longer. unless you start to like guy B better. follow your heart. ^_^

everyone goes through this, you dont want to be mean to him, but you really dont like him as more than a friend. just tell him that you just want to be friends, that if you go out with him it might make a hole in the friendship when you break up.. just be honest.

hey, thats for you to dcide, we dont know one thing about you or him. but ill tell you what i think. its possible that he likes you, but its also possinl that hes just a flirter. i flirt with almost everyone, look at him when hes around other girls, if he flirts with them too, then most likely hes just a flirter. but if he only flirts with you and a few others, then its likely he does like you. dont get your hopes up though.
Hopefully he does and you 2 will have a great relationship!

hey! dont get down on yourself! you shouldnt worry about what people say or think about you. and of they really are as mean as yo make them sound, they have problems. just ignore them. try laughing along with them next time. even if it does bother you. and stand up to them... i know it may be hard but it will turn out better. if you think they will do you any harm then tell someone right away. just dont let it get you down.. i know peopel at my school who get bullied and some of them walk around all depressed and all, but the others just are happy as can be just enjoying life. dont let some stupid people hurt you with their words. it will all come againt them in the end.

One of my old friends' never talked about guys. Like, we would be on the fone, and i would be talking about the guy i liked, and shed kinda just, "push away" the subject. She always said she never likes anyone, and she dosent think that anyone is "cute" or "Hot". I think thats kind of weird. Then one day, we were talking online, and she told me she was a lesbian. It was really awkward, and i really started to believe her, and then when i saw her the next day at school, she was like "omg that was hilarous last night! i was joking!"....I dont know but this kind of looks strange to me..Any ideas on why she might not like to talk about guys? oh by the way..i dont want to talk or ask her about this. thanks! when she told you on the internet, she was emotionaly upset, and she really needed to tell someone about it. shes really confused about what shes feeling. then the next day when she said she was joking, she decided it wasnt time to tell anyone yet, that she wasnt positive that it was true.

ok, there is this guy, jason, he is like, almost perfect, to me anyways. He has alot of problems, emotionally, goin on with him right now and hes talkin to people about them, but not me. He talks to my friends and tells them not to tell anyone, so they won't tell me. No one knows i like him cause, well, i guess of traumatic experiences that keep me from opening up. I try to talk to him whenever i can and get to know him and maybe he'll start likin me and all, but i never can. My friend is always walkin with him to classes and all and they never talk or whisper to themselves about his problem and so i never talk to him or anything. I asked her why he won't talk to other people besides her and she said he doesn't feel like he can trust anyone. this kind of thing takes a lot of time. and some people have the gift of atracting people to came and talk to them. the be able to share yourself with people and being able to trust that person is a big thing. sometimes if you really need to tell someone something, some people have the tendency to be at the right place at the right time when that person is ready to tell someone. and that builds a trust bond. if you really want him to share himself with you then you will have to be patient. and its possible that this thing he is telling your friend is something that he doesnt want you to know because he actually does like you. you have to view it from his point of view. but to be honest, just because you like him, you cant be selfish and think that he should tell you everything (not saying that you are that way) but just give it time... dont confront him about it though because it will make it worse.. just let it happen. if he wants to tell you he will, just be a friend

well... i dont know how they do dances where you are but here just because you go to the dance with someone doesnt mean you have to like them. i would say go with your friend, you would probably be more comfortable with your friend. but you can still like your crush. dont give up on the crush. follow your heart..
