okay, i use tampons during my period, but im nervous to go swimming with them in. Im afraid the water will soak the string, making the blood travel out trhough the tampon string. Does this happen or am i worrying for nothing? (link)

Tampons are meant to hold the blood in. If you wear them for a long period of time, then yes it will leak. But you can go swimming with a tampon in, it will not leak. You have nothing to worry about...! Your worrying for nothing!!

I think that you should stand up and tell them how you feel.. You know, some times when you tell them how you feel it doesn't work.. I learned that. Don't yell at them, cause that doesn't get you any where. I think you should sit down and tell them you don't want to go to church, because you don't like it. But some times, you can be too young, and you still have to listen to what they say. Now if your older than 16, and they are still making you go, then that could be an issue, but if your still young.. and they are making you do this, than your gonna have to suck it up! Because, there is nothing you can say or do when your only 13 lol.. Ya know?

I have a friend who has been trying to kill herself. I have been trying to get her help and doing everything I can, but nothing works. SHe takes a lot of advil, and i was just wondering, does anyone know how much advil it takes for it to be enough medicine for the person to die ? (link)

Well, when a person is like that you really can't do much. All you can do is try to be there for them. And advil can't make you die. You would have to take like a whole bottle of them for them to even do any thing to you. You can take up to 8 advil, and nothing will happen. But then again, she takes them a lot. Maybe you should tell an adult, and let them know so they can get some real help for her. Even if it would piss her off, you should tell someone older who had more authority than you.

Well hun, first of all.. Your too young to be in love... Every one thinks that their in love when they are young. You really wont be in love until you get older. And there are really good possibilities that you will find someone else in high school. The chances of that happening are like 9 out of 10... So, who knows. You can stick with your boyfriend, but you will probably end up meeting someone else. If you really "love" him, you wont break up with him.. But, it's completely up to you ya know. Just go with the flow.

Ok, well first of all.. All boys go through puberty at different times.. No one boy is going to go through puberty at the same time as another. You can start going through puberty at the age of 11, or 12.. A boys voice usually deepens, and you start growing more hair and every thing else... Under your arm pits, and every where else imaginable... There is no certain time "when" boys go through puberty. It just happens.. Give it time.

Your friend sounds like a complete dick head to me. If he brags about the things that he has, that every one else doesn't have... That's a little bit dumb. No one does that, that shows a big sign of immaturity... I think that you should tell him that it pisses you off that he's always bragging constantly. That shit would annoy me too!

Well, I don't think your stressing over nothing... Were you and this guy talking those 5 days before you started dating? Because what if he is still messing with this girl, and you don't know about it. That would bother me too, because you know, you just started dating, and then you find out that he was messing with some other girl before you.. ? Ya know, that would piss me off... But you do what you have to do, you ask him if he has feelings for her, and see what he has to say. Look at his reaction, analyze what he says to you... See if he's real... My life really sucks. The guy i like has this really popular and pretty girlfriend. All the people at school make fun of me. I do not have alot of friends. My family doesn't seem like they care for me too much. I even sometimes think of suicide.
At school all of the people make fun of me. I am no dork but people make fun of me the way i dress and just plain make fun of me. On my school lacrosse team people always make fun of me. Not to brag but i am probably the best person on the team and yet there are still people making fun of me of the things i do. On my soccer team some of the girls make fun of me too. I do not have alot of friends either. My dad always bothers me to have someone come over and he asks me the number of people i called and its only about 3 because i really don't have alot of friends to call. My family is always yelling at me to. I try to be nice but then my sister makes some smart remark and then my parents expect me to be nice to her. And they think she is like the perfect angel child that does everything right. My sister even sometimes makes fun of me by saying i have no friends. Suicide is also something i think about and life is something i want to take away because it really sucks. Please add some advice to this column. It would really help. Well, I know that life sucks. There is a lot of things in life that aren't great. School for you is probably soon almost over. To me, this is how I look at it. What ever some one has to say to you, let them talk their shit. They can say what ever they want, but inside you know that you are a good person.. And what ever they are making fun of you for, obviously they are insecure about them selves. People are just plain rude these days, and have no respect. This is what pisses me off most, when people get made fun of. This often leads to teen suicide.. That's something that I hate as well. I don't think you should kill your self over that. Even though you say you have not many friends, you atleast have one. And your parents probably do care about you. Don't look at every thing so negativly. You know, there will be a brighter day. And some day, there are going to be lots of people envying you, because those people that make fun of you now... May get no where in life... Just look at it this way, one day you will have things that they wont have. And also, I used to get made fun of when I was younger too. Every one made fun of me and every thing, called me a nerd, and fat and, made fun of my clothes too. Then I went to a different high school then my home school. I went to a technical school. I made SO many friends, because they gave me chance. I wasn't the only new one. Now I am back to my home school again, because I got my self into some trouble. So now all the people that made fun of me before, all like to suck up to me and kiss my ass.. Because they know I have changed. My personality is different, and I don't take any ones shit. Stand up for your self, some times it feels like it isnt the right thing to do, but in the end it will pay off.

Ok, well first of all... How old are you? Lol. OK, I think that shaving "down there" is something that you do to make your self feel clean... You know. You can ask your mom, for her advice, but you know it is your body. When I first started shaving, I asked my mom and she told me to do what ever I wanted to do. So you know, it is your body. Shave it if you want to, and doctors don't have a problem with that. That is your choice you know. If your going through puberty and you don't want hair down there, then get rid of it. It's your choice completely. It's your body.

I'm thirteen and I want my navel pierced. My Grandparents [who were really strict with my Mom and her sister], are even okay with it. Both of my parents say that I'm too young. But my Dad doesn't live with me, so my Mom can still say yes. I asked her why she wouldn't let me get it done and she said 1] that she thinks if I got that done I would want my nipples done or something crazy like that. 2] she thinks I would walk around with belly shirts or something. Ok, I am not trying to offend you, but I do think your too young to get your belly button peirced. You know, the law is to wait until your 18, and then you can get it with out your parents consent. But, I think that belly button peircings are for teenagers that are you know, atleast 16 and older. I see where your mom is coming from with the crazy piercings and the belly shirts. She just doesn't want any one to get the wrong idea. A lot of parents these days are old fashioned and well basically they don't like any thing that's new in technology or new in the world... You know, just wait it out.. See what comes... Cause you never know, maybe if you keep begging it will work. Here is my advice to you... Ok, You say that you have a perfect relationship with your boyfriend back at home, and now you met another guy. You really need to sit down and think which guy you like more, and honestly chose from there. I don't think that you should have sex with either of them if your are questioning your self. That is not a way to lose your virginity. That just leads to regrets. Sex is supposed to be special and to be with a person that you feel as though you have known all your life, and you are supposed to make that choice with that person, together whether you want to have sex with him or not. You say that you just met this guy a month ago, this new one or what ever.. Why should you rush into having sex, if you have a perfect relationship at home with your other boyfriend. I think that you should wait it out, and see what this leads to. Having sex is not the greatest thing. It leads to a lot of different factors. Pregnancy and diseases being the most important ones. So just use your head, and be careful of what choices you make!

Alright, so there's this girl, and I love her. I mean, I really LOVE her. During the school year, I didn't really care, I liked her as a friend, but everyone was convinced that she liked me. Even my best friend once said to her, "You know, you really look like (my name)'s girlfriend!" But then during the summer I realized that I really did love her, so I told her that, she said she like me as a friend. But I couldn't stop thinking about her. Then, a month later, I emailed her again saying that I couldn't get over her, and she said that what she had previously said, she honestly didn't know, her current relationship was pretty much over. So I knew there was hope, and I was sooo happy about that, but I still felt like I needed more. So I asked her to the carnival there as friends, and that was pretty cool. We had a pooled fund of tickets, and we ran out of all of them except for one... whe shared cotton candy... etc. So I'm nearly positive she likes me, but she just won't admit it to herself. Well, you can't convince any one to like you at all. They have to go with their feelings. If you think that this girl likes you, then you go ahead and do what you gotta do... Maybe she's playing hard to get, or maybe she really doesn't have feelings for you at all.. Ya know, you got to let it run it's course.. and see how it all works out. There is not an explanation for every thing. If you get headaches like that, almost every night.. You should go see your doctor. There could be something seriously wrong with you. I take Ibprofin for headaches, and body aches and cramps. That seems to help me. I really think that you should go see your family doctor and tell him the symptoms you have been having...

I read your problem. Let me ask you this. What is making you want to kill your self? What is depressing you. What has happened in the past few months that is making you want to die? I know that life can be hard, hard as hell. I have been in situations like this before. Actually, when I was in middle school, every one used to make fun of me.. And call me fat, and sit there every day and make fun of me. I cried and cried and cried... I felt like I had nothing to live for. I would go home every day, wanting to die, just because I had no friends. Now I went to 2 different high schools and made more friends than ever. Friends can help you a long way. You may not have 30 true "real" friends, but you do have 3 or 4 that will stick by your side. I think that you should really get out and do something, instead of sitting around, if that's what you do. You can be happy, you just have to let your self go there. There are SO many things in this world that are out there for every one, and you just have to search until you find something you truely love to do. I really hope that you don't kill your self, even though I don't know you, that is not the right way to go about things. Just know that your friends and family care about you, and keep your head up.

Alright, there's this kid that I've known for like more than a year. I met him when I went over one of my best friends house. He lives like next to her. So we would always go over and chill with him and his sister. We have sooo much fun. But the other night I decided to sleep over his house. So we stayed up all night and we kinda cuddled and he knows I like him a lot, but he won't tell me how he feels. Like from the other night I have a feeling he likes me, but I wanna know for sure. Well, I see that your having love problems. I have been there before... I sugguest that you talk to this guy, since he already knows how you feel about him... See how he feels about you by talking to him one on one. Maybe a phone conversation or face to face. Which ever you would feel comfortable with. But if he was cuddeling with you, when you slept over at his house, don't you think that mean's something? Well, just try to be your self, and ask him how he feels about you.. Good luck.
