i am 14/f and i weigh 129 and i'm 5'4 5'5 okay so i am not over weight but i have excessive body fat around my stomache area! i am going away in about 2 weeks for summer vaca and i want to lose 5 pounds. thats i think enough time. so right now i eat very lightly with carrots furits ect. & drink nothing but water. i run/walk 1-2 miles everyday && go to the gym for an hour every night. well most nights at least. && crunches everyo ther day. i have one more question. everyone says cardio always works to lose weight, thats running biking walking cross trainer right? i just started so if i keep this up will it work?!
From what it sounds like, you are doing everything right. A lot of girls who desperately want to lose weight can learn a lot from you.
Yes, cardio is running, walking, biking. It also includes things such as jumproping and jumping jacks(although I don't recommend doing 200 jumping jacks per day in attempt to lose weight). If you keep up what you're doing, you may lose more than 5 pounds.

What is the one type of violence you can't unlearn? According to my health teacher there is a violence that if you learn it, you can't stop doing it. I've tried to search for it but I cant find it.

i hate my body, i absolutatly HATE it. im soo self conscious (sp) it's not even funny. i'm 13, 5'2 (or 5'3, i really dont know), and about 110 pounds.. yeah i know this might seem 'normal' to you but to me, its not. a lot of girls in my class and school are skinnier than me, even 8th and 9th graders! and get this, my friend's mom is so skinny, her and her mom share clothes and we're only in 7th grade. so yeah enough with the comparing, anyways i hate my stomach, i swear whenever i eat like a salad or something it grows throughout the day which makes me look fat and pregnant, which i hate. i seriously don't know what to do, since it grows throughout the day when i eat should i stop eating? or what do you suggest? i might go aneroxic or something, that's how much i hate my body. any help is greatly appreciated.. thanks soo much. and sorry this was long & confusing! ♥

I've had a lot of fucked up friends with fucked up bodies(or so they thought). Two people I knew couldn't finish their 8th grade year because of problems with bulimia and anorexia. They all started their problems with the same thoughts about their bodies that you currently have. One of them was determined to have perfectly flat abs so she starved herself and induced vomiting constantly. She did this to the point that one day she lacked the energy to even stand up. Anyways, they all wanted to appear thin because they thought thin was beautiful, they thought they would be happy if they were thin. The problem is that they were never thin enough to satisfy their needs.
I doubt you'll be much different from them. Just how thin do you want to be? Until your ribs can be seen? or until they completely portrude out?
Don't be stupid, not eating isn't the key to looking good. Exercise is. Not eating doesn't solve any problems, your desire to become more and more skinny just increases. Exercise will
1. Make you lose body fat(hence lose whatever fat you have on your abs)
2. Keep you in shape
3. Increase your self esteem, and your lack of self esteem is probably the reason why you feel so bad about yourself in the first place.

ok so i joined track yesterday and im not all that bad, but im ot all that good either haha. well, i dont know if i should do sprinting or distance. i cant run too fast and i dont think sprinting would be for me. but im not sure about distance either. does anyone with track experience know what would be easier, distance or sprinting?
Being able to sprint or run long distance is really determined by the persons genetic make up. Some people have mostly fast twitch muscles which makes them able to sprint better(but are not so good at long distance) and some people have mostly slow twitch muscle fibers which allow them to run long distance(but not so good at sprinting.) People who can do both well are rare.
If you feel like you have strong lungs, then I'd recommend trying long distance. If you're lungs are weak(either because of genetics or bad habits like smoking) I'd recomend sprinting.
However the most important thing is to train consistently. Most people aren't born to be sprinters or long distance runners, they have to work for it.

Okay this is really embarassing....I went to the movies with my boyfriend last night and we decided to see Nacho Libre...well halfway through the movie I had drank a large soda and I really needed to go ut I didnt want to miss the movie. So then this really funny part happened and I laughed until I peed my pants...I was SO embarrassed and I couldnt get up because I was afraid he would notice to when we went to leave the movie I just rapped my jacket around my waist. On the car ride home he put his hand on my thigh and squeezed...I was so happy! I've never really be touched by a guy (I know I'm a weirdo) and I'm really excited and like a a crazzed fan touched by their hero I'm not sure if I want to wash the pants. I know its gross...but would it be too weird to not wash them and keep them for sentimental value? I wanted to ask my friends but I was WAY to embarrassed to ask people I know. Oh my gosh pleaase help!

Cardiovascular exercises
Jump roping is a good one. But you're limiting A LOT of your options if you don't want to run. Running is pretty much key to being healthy.
It'll take twice as much time and energy to lose 10 lbs through situps and crunches than through running.

if you're still not in elementary or 6th grade, go find someoen of the opposite sex(or same sex if you swing that way). Get to know them, ask them out, or have them ask you out somehow, and have fun.

So i was wondering, if you GUYS could answer, what turns you on more a girl with a body type like kiera knightley/sasha cohen or a girl with a body type thats maybe 10-20 lbs overweight. I respect everyone's oppinons but i feel self-consciounce because my body type is more of the kiera knightley/sasha cohen type...and i have no confidence from my body cause i feel that people look at me as anorexic, but then when i see girls overweight in a bikini they have all the confidence in the world and i'm kinda of like the wallflower in that type of situation so would you rather date a girl wiht a body type like kiera knightleys/sasha cohens or someone thats like 10-20 lbs overweight and why?? I think the real problem here isn't about whether guys would want to date a chubby or skinny looking girl. I think the real problem is, like you said, your own self conscious feelings about your body and your inability to be content with yourself. Don't let a guys choice of girls(whether fat or skinny) determine whether you feel good or bad about your body or let it cause you things that are unhealthy to your body.
personally though, I'd have neither. I don't want an overweight girl or an underweight girl. But I'd choose a girl 10 lbs overweight who's happier with herself than a girl who is 10 lbs underweight and suffering from low self esteem.

I recently came out to my family that I've lost 10 pounds in the last two weeks due to not eating and throwing up when I do eat. Now my parents want to send me to an in-patient facility for rehabilitation. I'm really really scared/angry because I think that I can beat this or figure it out myself with a little help from my family...I'm not even that underweight. I feel like this whole thing is ridiculous and I shouldn't have tol them about it. What should I do? I need to convince them otherwise very soon...
Going to a rehab center for early signs of an eating disorder does sound a bit extreme to me. Although going could possibly guarantee a higher chance of recovery, there are also negative aspects of going. One being a lowered self esteem due to the fact that you're at a rehab center in the first place.
I think that your best choice would probably to see a therapist through this. A lot of eating disorders have to do with emotional problems that you keep locked deep inside you so a therapist could possibly help you through that.
Lastly, one thing you should know is that most therapists suck. A lot of them have a free first session. If you feel like the therapist you see after the first session isn't a good one or one that you can't relate to, find another one. Do this until you find a therapist that you think is good.

So I have to run a half mile in school,

But I've been told there are good ways to breathe, so you dont get so tired out,
I asked my Gym teacher.. and hes a jerk, and takes nothing I say seriously, and says it doesnt matter, and that he runs with his mouth open, and I've heard thats not a good idea...
I've been told by previous Gym teachers to breath in through your mouth out through your nose,
but I'm just wondering what will help.

From what I remember it's the other way around. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Take deep breaths and exhale slowly; don't try to take too many short gasping breaths.
Kill your gym teacher in hopes you get a new one, he sounds like a jerk.
