Okay, so one of my friends, lets call her Jamie, is always making fun of my dislexia (and for those of you who dont know, dislexia is a learning disability that, for me, pervents me from reading and writing well).

She always laughs at me when I miss spell a easy word, or cant read a easy word. I also studder when I talk, which she makes fun of.

When i try to defend myself and bring up the fact that im getting strate A's, she brings up the fact that i can only write at a 4th grade level and have to type everything because my handwriting is unreadable.

Anytime i tell her to stop, she tells me to relax and that its just a joke. What should i do?

She should be lifting you up and showing how much she supports you. Have a talk with her in a serious setting and let her know that the teasing becomes hurtful. If she can't seem to stop, then it's best to leave her. You don't need to have her in your company if she can't treat you any better.

So I was checkin out my cousins myspaces the other day...
Lets say Her name is Lauren.
And his is Ryan.

Well I hung out with Lauren about five days ago and she was talkin about these two guys she liked. But then today i read her "about me" on Myspace. And it was talkin about how she's done with guys cuz there all the same. And they all break her heart. So do you think this is just a phase for her? (shes 16 going on 17)

Then theres my cousin Ryan. I dont talk to him much. But i looked at his Myspace today and in his "orietation" space it said "Not Sure." So do you think that means theres a chance of him being gay? (hes 13)

Well Im just curious about whats up with them... Please and thank you.

love rachel

All girls go through the "guys are idiots" stage. That's all it is. It doesn't always lead to something more, so don't take it too literal.
& as for your male cousin...I've seen married people who had "not sure" for their orientation that could just mean that he hasn't gotten around to putting straight or gay.
don't worry.

i lost my confidence the summer before 7th grade. right now this is the summer before i go into 11th grade. i really want my confidence back. i lost it when a couple of people called me ugly and i really let it get to me because i agreed with it. but before that summer before 7th grade, i had tons of friends and alot of guys liked me. the thing i miss the most is me, the old me when i acted myself in public. now i have to step out of my shell after hiding for so long. im really scared, please help.

I'm going into my Senior year & last summer when I was your age...I was really down on myself...I heard of something called "The Law of Attraction". It basically states that you can attract all the goodness into your life. If you believe that something will happen without doubting youself...it will be your's. People will want to be around you when you "attract" them with your personality...this had a huge impact on me...try googling the law and it will forever change your perception on things.

How do I stop dwelling on embarrassing things that happened to me?

think of the things that happened to others and how you found humor in it. not everyone is going to think you made a fool of yourself. some people are just going to laugh to relieve tension and it's all over after that, seriously it is.

i get really oily skin, is there any home remedies that could make it better? I have bought som products but is there anything else i can do? Because once it gets oily, it is just attracted to dirt and i end up with pimples all over my nose

I just read on cosmogirl.com
that you can use coffee filters...empty of course!
and use it to take off the excess oil!

I just want to speculate here... I think that our teacher (high school) is going to pick a very big musical for next year in school. She's already done things like Oaklahoma!, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Sound of Music, and Beauty and the Beast. We need a musical with more girl parts than guy parts. What do you guys think that we might do? Oh, by the way, I already looked up Wicked, but it's on Broadway still, and I don't think anyone will be getting the rights to it anytime soon. Any thoughts would really be appreciated, as I've already talked to my family and friends about this, and they are bored to death with the subject!

School House Rock?
my highschool may do that...

What are some amazing classics? I'm thinking along the lines of Pride and Prejudice or A Tale of Two Cities. (But not those because I have already read them... i love them.) I need ones that I will thoroughly enjoy reading.

The Great Gatsby
or
The Catcher in the Rye!

-These are both very meaningful and well-known books.

Okay, so I have been accepted into a camp for musical theatre, and it said I need a audition book. So I asked my vocal teacher, except she is all about the opera, and isn't really up to date with musical theatre. She tried her best and her and I put something together.

It said I need 2 contemporary musical theatre pieces (One ballad, one up-tempo), a song that shows off your skills (I chose a comical song, because I do that well haha), and 2 classical pieces (one ballad, one up-tempo)

Here's what we came up with:
Contemporary Ballad-
Contemporary Up-tempo:
song that shows off your skills: Diva's Lament, Spamolot
Classic ballad- Till There Was You, The Music Man
Classic Up-Tempo- Always True To You, Kiss Me Kate

For contemp. ballad I was thinking of something from the phantom of the opera but I'm not sure. I would like to do something different then what people are you use to, you know? But there isn't a lot of musicals that I know and the camp starts at the end of June so I want songs that I am comfortable with.

Any suggestions for songs? You can suggest for ones that I already have filled too.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate your help!

PS- My vocal range is from C# to C# (3 octaves)

Contemporary Ballad- Still Hurting
(It's from the Last Five Years)
Contemporary Up Tempo: Good Morning Baltimore

"There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so." - from Hamlet , Wm. Shakespeare; Act II, scene ii

do you agree or disagree? its very debatable.

This is very true. Things; more like everything is what we want them to be. My house getting robbed could have been a bad thing...to many of my family members it was, but for me; I learned that I didn't care for the money that was taken because my family was left unharmed. Then again, my money wasn't stolen...it was my parent's, but you get my point... Overall, I learned to place value on people and not possessions.

Hi.
I have to get a cavity filled this Saturday. I hate needles and this is my second cavity ever. I remember last time I was freaking out about the needle. So this time, my dentist recommended me getting the laughing gas or whatever it is called. I am nervous though.

- What does it do?
- Do you still feel the needle?
- Does it make people nauseated?

PLEASE HElP

(I checked the internet and googled it but I want personal experiences!)

Laughing gas is my savior. I love it. It just makes you really mellow and while you're on it, you won't worry about the procedure. To tell you the truth, I didn't know they were giving me a needle until the fourth time when my mom told me. You might feel a little dizzy when they take you off the gas, but it's nothing to be concerned about. If I were you, I'd be looking forward to the gas! lol

Lately i have been having a little trouble at school with some class mates picking on me and taking the mick because im clever and i put my hand up to answer questions and stuff; they call me squiff, and boffin and then on top of that apparently (and i've heard it today from one of my fav. teachers) i worry too much! which is true, so after lesson talked to him and then we got into a discussion about me worrying, and then somehow we got onto the topic of calling people stuff and then i just started crying. I then cryed three more times over the same thing of people calling me stuff. then it doesnt help when i go to next lesson and start cying again, in front of EVERYONE and then i get sent out to 'cool off and relax' anyway i get abck to my next lesson and then people are actually argueing over who upset me!!! I cant deal with it and then my cousin, Ashley (girl) goes and demands that she has the right to know what is the matteer and that she's worried sick about me!!! I just cant stick it anymore!!! And as for my cousin i just am close to hating her!!!!!! THis teacher i talked to is really understanding, but i just feel a bit like a charity case (i'm not sure how to say it) but i got really upset today over nothing!!!!!

No matter what you do, there will always be people to criticize you, that's just how things work...people get jealous. To resist feeling down about yourself KILL THEM WITH KINDNESS. Don't you feel good about yourself when you give out a compliment? Well, of course you do! Go ahead and say something nice about their blouse or the way they wore their hair. (make sure it sounds sincere) You'll feel like such a sweetheart and that way it'll be hard for them to tear you down. =]

Has anyone ever been scared of leaving school? After senior year, well i am scared. Because school is cool and i actually have a blast with all my friends and such. Im so scared of graduating, i feel like im going to get hurt.
does anyone know what im saying? or am i just overeacting?
thanks.

Whoa, I totally get it. But really, it's like when I left middle school...high school is so much better so I was exicted to move on. College should bring about some new and possibly better experiences than highschool. Give yourself a chance to grow. You will be fine.

I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorow, and the procedure starts off with some laughing gas. And I'm absolutely terrified that I will say something really embarrassing or like pee my pants from laughing too much (which has happened before without the laughing gas.)

How exactly do you feel on laughing gas? All I know is that you feel relaxed, warm, and giggly. Anything else?

There is no need to worry. I promise. I LOVE laughing gas. You probably won't even feel like talking. You'll just want to relax. When I'm asked questions it takes me a while to even respond when I am on the gas because I am so mellowed out.

There is this kid named Cody Meckly in my school, he is in 6th grade though, I am in 8th. I dont like him or anything, but yet I went out with him as a joke. I know I felt so bad cuz he used to always say I was beautiful. I didnt like him but he was sweet and I wouldve seriously dated him if he wasnt so immature, I broke up with him and he said that he was cheating on me, IF I HATED THIS KID, WHY DOES IT MAKE ME MAD????

You feel bad because you are human. You regret leading him on. He gave you the ultimate compliment...he called you BEAUTIFUL. You treated his heart like it was a toy. He might not be boyfriend material, but I doubt he deserves what you put him through. I hope you come up with the courage to apologize to him. Good luck!

sometimes im boring wtih my friends because i cant think of anything to talk about?
like if you think about it, what is there really to talk about.

please help me be less boring and more talkative!

Be random. It's really easy, actually. Just inform them that they have 33 eyelashes on each eye...stuff like that. It's better when things don't make sense. People will be intrigued by you!

I'm 15 years old and a freshman in high school. I haven't done anything with a guy, and I'm totally cool with that. Lately a lot of people have randomly been asking me about my experience with that stuff and guys, and are really shocked to find out that I haven't done anything. A lot of girls around me are doing this and that with guys, and it looks distasteful, almost like they are trying to prove something by sticking their tongue down someone's throat. It's not that I think it's disgusting or gross when people do that sort of thing, but personally, I'm not really looking for anyone right now. If I'm not looking for someone to really be involved with, I'm not looking to be kissed. End of story. People almost make me feel bad about myself, though, when I say I'm just not into that right now. I have a lot of friends, and am comfortable with myself, but I can't help but feel stung when someone looks at me like I have three heads. I've said "I don't really want to talk about it" if someone asks me about what i've done and they go "ohhhh wow nothing?!..WHAT?!"

grrr. How can ignore these people and not feel like a weirdo about this.

I've felt this way...sometimes I ask myself if a boy would even be willing to do things like that with me...even though physical stuff with a dude is against my morals at my age. (16) The thing is: I tell myself that no guy has every made such an offer towards me because he knows I have too much class. Guys look for girls who are eaaassssy. It's disgusting and degrading, but you are really fortunate if a guy thinks enough of you not to offer you a night of"fun".

I'm auditioning for a drama club, and we have to write monologues and perform them.

I've written my monologue...no problem there.

Does anyone know any tricks to memorizing a two minute monologue?

Pick certain words to "emphasize" say those words at a different tone of voice or volume level to seperate them from the rest of the monologue: This way: if you forget what comes next, you'll remember shouting a specific word and that should get you back on track.
