I'm really interested in Japanese and anything to do with Japan and stuff. Anyways, whenever I try to view a website in Japanese the words show up as question marks, like this: ??? ????? ??
I guess my question is- how do I get the japanese symbols to show up on my computer? I'm guessing its because my computer was made in the US (I think). Its a dell and it has windows xp.
So is there any way I can get them to show up? Like, a special font I need to download or something?

Go to start>control panel. Switch to classic view, if it isn't there already(option is on the left). Open "regional and language settings". Go to "languages" tab. Click the bottom checkmark. Click ok twice. It'll ask your for your install disk; put it in and click "ok". Restart the computer and you're done.
If you don't have your install disk(recovery disk won't work); call up your computer manufacturer and demand they give you one, it should have come with your computer.

Hey- I have an advicenators column and when I answered someone's question they replied back with a question that I'd like to answer to them personally. How do I do this?
You can't currently. Your best bet is to edit your answer, though they aren't informed of your edit. Since this is the most requested Advicenators feature, I'm sure DangerNerd is working on implementing it.
On answers where you anticipate a response, you should make it clear that they ask you a personal question, and not ask questions in the feedback.

The moon orbits around the Earth about once per month. When it's configuration is:

The moon is full, because the sun is hitting the moon on the side facing the Earth. When it's configuration is:

The moon is new(black), because the sun is hitting the moon on the side not facing the Earth.
Keep in mind that the Earth and moon are on different geometric planes(they're at different heights), so the Earth's shadow rarely hits the moon, and vice-versa. Don't consider their shadows when you think about this. When the configuration is:

The sun is hitting half of the moon.

That is because an answer on your column includes a very long link. There's no way to fix it, but it will return to normal after the question is off the front page of your column. In the future, use a service like http://tinyurl.com to shorten your links.
**Note that if you break up the link with the return key, only the first part will be clickable(leading to a not found if clicked), and it will be difficult to paste in the address bar. You could edit it and use a tinyurl link.**

Download and install truecrypt:

Make a volume and put your files in it. Hide the mountable file somewhere deep in the computer, like C:\WINDOWS\system32. Be sure to unmount the volume when you're done. The encryption in truecrypt is so strong, even the government would have a hard time getting your pictures. Truecrypt is complex, read the instructions very carefully.
If you want, you can just upload your files to http://megaupload.com ; they won't be deleted for a month. Or you can email the files to yourself in an attachment.
**Note that hidden files aren't absolutely hidden. I have my computer set to always display hidden files.**

i want to get songs from limewire to itunes, but i can't figure it out. are you supposed to right click it and press launch? because i did that and it brought me to windows media player. also when i searched music there wasn't an itunes icon thing next to it like there used to be(i think) instead there's a windows media player symbol. how do i get the songs to go to itunes? and quickly please because i want to delete limewire because i don't want viruses.

Right click the song in limewire and select "explore". In the new window, right click the song and hover your mouse over "open with...". If iTunes is on the list, click it. If not, go to "choose program" and choose iTunes from the list. If iTunes isn't in the list, browse to C:\program files\itunes\itunes.exe. You can then add the song normally.
(Limewire doesn't cause viruses by itself, only if you download carelessly)

Somewhere in the game area it will say "server time". This is the time the game goes by. So:
Server time: 24:59:00
Means that you have 1 minute left until the next round. This will probably be either UTC or the time the game's servers are at. It's also possible the 4 cases per day is updated gradually, one per 6 hours(I'm not sure if this is true).

One of my friends called me today to ask me if I could help her with an assignment on weakness and strength and she brought up this question "Do the strong opress the weak today?" and I started thinking about it.. at first I said "not really, the rich give to the poor, the physically strong help work out with the physically weak, the mentally strong give advice to those weaker etc" cause i mean we are good and considerate as humasn we try to help, we dont think "i cant help this person cause then he'd be stronger than me" we're not like that, but she seemed convinces that the world was evil- agreed, it is, bad things happen, but it has nothing to do with the strong opressing the weak, does it? What are your thoughts on this? Do you agree with her or me?

okay, when you ask a question, why can't you talk in the abbreviated words like i dont know and stuff? Is there any way to get rid of this?
Why do you need to abbreviate, are you in a hurry? Chatspeak makes your message unclear, and it takes longer for the untrained eye to decipher it. It also makes you look stupid, and it's annoying. There's no way to get around the chatspeak detector in questions.

That's a torrent file. They have it show as a text file either to stop ISP blocks, or because of an error. Right click the download link and select "save link as". If the file extension is .txt, change it to .torrent. Then open it with your bittorrent application.
