12 year old female. I used to be suicidal majorly, for 2 years I was suicidal. Even had panic attacks. Eventually I started cutting. I cut on my arms, legs and stomach. It got to the point where for a year and a half every night when I took a shower I'd cut myself. It's been 4 months since I've done that and my life got much better. I now have a lot of friends, hobbys and everything is much better now in every area. The only thing is now when I shave I can't without trembling. The problem is hair is everywhere I used to cut using that razor. Now I need to shave with that razor, and every time I do that it reminds me of cutting and it freaks me out and I can't. How do I get over this?

FAIRYGODMTHR answered Wednesday April 6 2016, 11:23 pm: It is definitely understandable. It is a form of post tramatic stress disorder. I think for now, you should definitely use some alternate forms of removing hair. I saw this really cool video about using honey and sugar. You can look it up on YouTube! But when you are ready, I would definitely try doing some inner child meditation. Look a little deeper to see what caused your suicidal thoughts. Once you do that, you will be able to pin point things and come up with a good plan to get yourself back comfortable (for lack of a better term) with yourself. Seems like there is a conflict between your high self (that helped you to stop) and who you believe that you are (that part that is afraid you may begin again). IN the meantime while find alternatives, you could probably find people who have similar stories to you in the community or online to talk to. One thing is knowing that you arent alone at any part of the process. There are people who are similar and have been successful in living fulfilling lives. You are going to be okay. You control your life. And make sure you are always attach something positive and beautiful to the phrase "I AM." What you tell yourself you eventually believe. Fake it til you make it!
I am:
in control
full of love
wonderful
beautiful
perfection
First of all you should try using other options as other female advisers suggested ))
As for your trembling and your past suicidal traits, I am so happy for you that it is past and over...yeah!!! To put it in short, it had most likely to do with self-worth issue for whatever reasons. Do you know that you are a beautiful being. No matter what anyone else tells you or the way they treat you, remember that your life is as important as anyone else on this planet and you are as precious as the most beautiful flower or the most stunning diamond on planet earth. Look at yourself in the mirror and see through the wonderful Soul that you are. Instead of trembling, I want you to cry for yourself. Value yourself for who you are, no matter what others talk about you. Love yourself and celebrate your existence in this Universe. Pamper your self with all goodies. Treat yourself with beautiful scented oil and rose petals next time you take your shower. I am not saying this to trick you but this is the fact.
Stay happy, express yourself, be open, be an example to others and help people who don't value their life...

Miss-Ask-It-All listed, is a more expensive one but its longer lasting in the end, is Laser hair removal. I had this done.
I do suggest definately finding another way other than razor for hair removal because you face the same thing a recovered alcoholic does if he's even around someone else who is drinking, the temptation to go back to it is too strong. Miss-Ask-It-All answered Sunday April 3 2016, 6:40 am: Dear Unique Teen,
I was really shocked to read at the starting about your condition. I am truly sorry to know that you were under so much stress that you were suicidal and you had started cutting.
And as I continued reading on, I was filled with soo much happiness that you had left self harming. You should be an example and role model for all other self harmers that there is always some purpose for you to live.
Hmm, and as for your shaving problem, there are many solutions to that problem. Using razors is actually not a good option for any girl because if you use razors or blades for shaving your body hairs, your hairs come out rough or thick and the area of your skin becomes rough throughout time. I would have recommended you to wax, just like me, because after a few time of waxing your hairs will be thin and the skin will be softer. But it would be crazy to wax over the cuts.
You can also try some hair removal creams but you should consult your doctor before using them and ask your doctor about this same question so he/she could recommend you the right product which would not burn in your cuts or give you a rash.
And above all, I am proud of you that you stopped all of that. And dont worry and dont freak out while shaving. Just take calm breaths. And tell yourself that you are happy now. Why ruin your happy life now. Live and Love Life.
Anyways, im really proud of you.
PS im just a 13 yr old girl ;D
