Let me sum up or put in the proper perspective the 4 preceding answers.
First masturbation is normal. According to a survey conducted recently 85% of us masturbate. This includes adults and teenagers. Masturbation is a safe and easy way to relieve sexual tension. For a female masturbation allows for the relief of sexual tension without the worry of pregnancy. Masturbation is like foreplay and allows her to learn about her sexuality, her likes and dislikes.
About 80% of women are vaginal in what they find as stimulations. The other 20% are clitoral, meaning then need their clitoris stimulated during foreplay to be turned on. Masturbation allows a women to learn this about herself.
I don't know why in this day an age parents tell their children it is wrong to masturbate when in fact they should encourage it. The only reason I can think of is parents forget what it is like to be a teenager and still believe masturbation leads to sexual intercourse. When in fact masturbation delays the need for sexual intercourse by satisfying the sexual urges all teenagers have.
The only problem with porn is realizing what you watch is fantasy. It is designed to be titillating to satisfy different sexual urges and fetishes. The people who think it is wrong think so for a variety of reasons. For the most part it is my believe that they are hypocrites as when they were younger they or most of them viewed porn. Now for a variety of reasons they want to do away with it.

It isn't 'bad' for a girl of 16 to watch porn and to masturbate while watching it. It is designed & produced to be arousing. I should say that by this age most guys and girls have seen pornographic images/video, some (especiallly girls) it doesn't do anything for at all, they don't find it arousing. Some find they enjoy it. There's nothing much more to be read into it than that in the vast majority of cases. True, it is legally age-restricted and we would expect responsible societies to have such rules. But it must surely be the the most broken one on earth...it was more difficult perhaps for a minor to obtain pornographic images in pre-internet days. When they existed only on paper, or video-cassete, DVD etc. Don't worry at all about it, but don't get too addicted either...keep plenty of other interests on the go. Not because it's porn, but because getting really hooked on ANY one thing isn't a great idea, especially in your teens. Can set a pattern for addictive behaviour. Personally, I do think that young males watching a lot of porn can give them the idea that women are merely 'sex objects' rather than people. But once they start relationships with actual girls they usually get a more balanced view, quite quickly!! And find that the on-screen scenario isn't quite how the real world works. Relax, and don't get hung-up about it.

It is our human nature to masturbate. There's nothing wrong with it because we all have our needs. Don't feel so guilty about it. Normally, girls aren't as open about it because they feel embarrassed but it's nothing bad. There are people way younger than you who have been on porn sites and masturbated too.

Masturbating is a good way to explore ones sexuality and it is normal. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Porn is okay too if one keeps it mind that it is really only like Hollywood, only a tiny percent of truth and the rest is made up to look good for camera's and on film. I have seen ones of a man going from anal sex to putting it straight into the vagina without cleaning it...even if you can't see anything on it...the germs are there. Females can and will get bladder infections this way. It's not a good practice at all. But some find it looks cool on cam. So please keep that in mind.

Because you asked "is it bad" and the blow answer managed to try to tell you that it isn't by saying the word yes, I will clearly state that no, masturbating and porn are not bad at all.
There are people who think so. I think it's a personal opinion, they bring God into it, it's all a big mess.
But the reality is that tons of people look at porn. Single people. Dating people. Married people. And in most of those cases, it's both normal and unremarkable.
It's not uncommon for two people who both like porn to watch it together when they're dating and sleeping with each other. Most people don't care. It's your private business and anyone who has a problem with it doesn't need to be involved in your private business.
