Why do people only listen to the radio tracks when they buy a cd?
Question Posted Tuesday July 23 2013, 7:54 pm
i was wondering when people buy cds why do they only intend to listen to the songs that were played on the radio instead of giving the ones that were not a chance as for me when i buy cds i listen to the ones on the radio and the give the ones that were not a chance
You won't see this with people who are into music because they love it and not because the rest of the herd is listening to it. What you describe is uncommon for genres like metal, classical, jazz, blues, etc. [ Alin75's advice column | Ask Alin75 A Question ]

I'm a radio presenter and I do this all the time, but give the others a go when I'm busy, like tidying up etc, and I'll be like "that was good".
This doesn't happen as much now with downloads, people can just buy that one song off the radio that they like.
However, with fandoms like Beliebers and directioners, they will buy the CD and listen to all the songs.
I think to answer your question, its because most people these days have hectic/busy lifestyles, so simply do not have time to sit back and appreciate new music and give it a go. So they just stick to what they know because its more convenient and cheaper :) [ kittenlover2000's advice column | Ask kittenlover2000 A Question ]
ASK-LACEY answered Tuesday July 23 2013, 11:09 pm: I used to wonder the same thing all the time...come to find out it's because they like the idea of being able to listen to the song they like all the time whenever they want. Where as on the radio, you have to wait for the song. [ ASK-LACEY's advice column | Ask ASK-LACEY A Question ]
