You'll hear different things when it comes to alcohol. He most likely means it since you guys have been dating for three years and live together and say I love you a lot.

Some people spill out their feelings and emotions when they are drunk but some say things they don't even mean. So really, it could be either way. But most likely, in this situation, he means it.

When i read this i thought of "drunk minds are sober thoughts". Of course he means this, when a person is drunk they are able to say how they feel without getting nervous or embarrassed.

Hopefully i helped!

For a guy who's not very open, its amazing to hear that he will say i love you 3 times a day. Most wont even do that so You're one of the lucky ones.
Yes, it's coming from his subconscious where all our emotions and feelings reside. Alcohol allows these inner feelings that are normally buried to come out.
On the flip side, someone who has been abused as a child may carry anger, fear and resentment buried that hasnt been dealt with. When these types get drunk you see the person who becomes a mean drunk and the feelings that are normally buried in them that come up are the negative ones.
You can trust it. Guys don't always say I love you when they are in love. Equally as revealing of his love and devotion is Honey you are amazing or You are the woman I always dreamed of and other such phrases.

Alcohol is known to lower ones inhibitions. If your boyfriend is as reserved as you say he is it is possible the alcohol has lowered his inhibitions to the point that what he said is truly what he feels.

This would really depend on how much he's had to drink, Everyone holds their alcohol differently.

For me, One drink will make me loopy but I am also not a social drinker.

For many, Alcohol tends to speak for itself when we are drunk. When someone is drunk it alows down our brain function so we aren't able to fully use full brain power.

If he was smashed off his ass, I really wouldn't take it seriously. Words mean more coming from one who is sober.
