My puppy is having rectal bleeding & not eating :(
Question Posted Tuesday June 25 2013, 6:54 pm
She hasn't been eating & she was laying on my floor & blood just came out of her bum. It's hard for her to walk and lift herself up. I've been trying to get her to eat. Does it mean she has worms?

GarminNuvi answered Tuesday October 15 2013, 1:51 am: Hi, it is best to take her to the vet. It could be anything. I got my puppy at 8 weeks old and he had only been with me fore 2 days when I noticed the blood coming out of his butt. Is it bloody diahrea? Does it have a strong smell like metal? Lethargy? Vomiting? It could be ANYTHING because puppies are so small and their immune system isn't as strong as an adult dogs yet. My puppy had parvo which is highly contagious and it can kill a puppy in a day. Take her to the vet as soon as you can, you could end up saving her life. Make sure she stays hydrated. It's best to see a vet and make sure it's nothing too serious. Since she's bleeding, don't make her wait because it could get more serious. kittenlover2000 answered Wednesday June 26 2013, 6:13 am: It could be a blockage in the bowels-my cat has it all the time. She may struggle to empty them, so this may be why she is not eating-cause she's full up. My cat had this and he was also groaning and things.
Dragonflymagic answered Wednesday June 26 2013, 3:28 am: Worms would be in the stool. With humans, fresh blood is sometimes a sign of bad case of hemorrhoids. I have no idea what a vet does for an animal with that. Just take your pet to the vet. If money is tight, find a low cost vet in your area. They advertise that they are low cost.
