use a scalp conditioned (can find this in African american hair styling section)
drink more water

Also if you have itchiness in your scalp, which is often attributed to dandruff, you should put a small amount of vinegar in with your regular shampoo. I learned that in my cna class, and the last time I had an itchy scalp, I did just that and it really worked. Hope I helped.

There are natural remedies with items you may have in your kitchen
And one not mentioned in that article is Mayonaisse. It helps moisturize the scalp. You might want a shower cap for this. Work mayonaisse into your hair and down to the scalp. The heat from your head will give the mayo a funky smell and you dont want it to drip so a shower cap is good. Try to leave it on 20 mins and then shower out.And shampoo. If the hair is too greasy still, you might want to mix some vinegar with water and work that into hair only to remove excess oil. [ Dragonflymagic's advice column | Ask Dragonflymagic A Question ]
secrettwinkie answered Saturday May 11 2013, 10:40 pm: Dandruff shampoo helps a ton. Head & Shoulders is a great brand, so is Selsun Blue. You can get them at any drugstore for the same price as regular shampoo.
Dandruff may be caused by dry skin, but, weirdly enough, it can also be caused by oily, irritated skin. Another cause is fungus.
If drugstore shampoos don't work, you might want to take a trip to the dermatologist, or even your regular doctor. I don't know what the regular doc can do, but a dermatologist can prescribe special dandruff shampoo.
I have/had bad dandruff, and I use prescription dandruff shampoo once or twice a month. It's cleared pretty much everything up. The rest of the time I use regular shampoo or drugstore dandruff shampoo. [ secrettwinkie's advice column | Ask secrettwinkie A Question ]
