Go high carb, low fat, whole foods, plant-based VEGAN! I went vegan this year and have lost 40 pounds, with minimal exercise, and eating AS MUCH as I desire bringing down my BMI from 30 to 24. I weigh less now than I did throughout high school, as an overweight teenager, even when I exercised for hours while on Junior Varsity and Varsity sports teams. I went to my annual physical earlier this month, and even my doctor was in shock.

My goal for next year is to lose 30-40 more pounds, I just need to start exercising on a regular basis. Nothing crazy, just 30-60 minutes of jogging, Ballet Beautiful, bike riding.. things like that.

I think it's amazing what I've accomplished so far, just by changing my diet, though. It's a lot easier to go vegan than it seems. I was never vegetarian, I went from being able to eat an entire box of pizza or entire tub of ice cream in one sitting to a full-fledged vegan. I now spend a lot less money on groceries, have more energy (never need caffeine, and never feel lethargic like I used to on a regular basis), have more concentration, am learning to cook, and etc. Try it for a week, that's how I started, and I felt so good that I just kept going, and it's now been 5 months! You can get every nutrient from plant foods, including protein!

Where do you get your protein?! 10 comebacks from a Vegan.

The only vitamin you need to supplement is B12, and one I personally recommend is Garden of Life's B12 spray (cause I personally hate swallowing pills, and methylcobalamin is better than cyanocobalamin). You can buy it at any health foods store (Whole Foods, Sprouts, Trader Joe's, etc.), or online.

Your weight is fine for your height. Women are built to retain a certain amount of weight and guys like a girl who feels soft to them when he hugs her rather than hugging a skeleton, which is what a too thin girl feels like. Also, as you get further into adolescence, your proportions will shift in a very pleasant way. So relax, just let time do its thing and rock on!

At your age you concern should not be on your appearance but if you are the right weight for body frame and age. Below is a copy of what your weight should be for the three different frame sizes doctors judge by. These are the minimum weight ranges for these frames at your height.

Height Small Frame Medium Frame Large Frame

5'07" 122-131 128-143 137-154

At your age the female body is going to go through more changes than the male body and your body will continue to evolve well into your upper teens. The first thing to happen is you loose what we parent call your baby fat. Your breasts, which may have already started to develop will either continue to develop or begin to develop. You develop the curves that all women do.

Now if you want to properly develop your body to have the slim stomach, sleek thighs and legs. Then you should talk to your physical education teacher about PROPER EXERSISES you can do to PROPERLY firm and tone the muscles of your stomach, thighs, calves and butt.

Dieting is the worst thing you can do for yourself at this time as it will inhibit exactly what you are trying to do. Proper nutrition and exercise is what you need to obtain the look you want AS YOU GET OLDER and your body continues to mature.

Proper nutrition is 3 good healthy meals a day, with a proper snack in between. An occasional junk food meal or snack is okay as none of us can really live by proper nutrition alone as it gets boring. Proper exercise is a proper work out designed to meet your goal done two or three times a week. Her again your physical education teacher can be a great resource to help you.

Dieting is the wrong answer to a slim sleek body. There are no short cuts. You have to work at it ant the work is a regimented diet and exercise program.

You're very young to be worrying about your weight.

You shouldn't diet, or do strenuous exercise, because you are still growing. Your body needs nutrients, and you shouldn't starve your body of what it needs.

But you should still be healthy. Remember, avoid fatty, sugary, junk foods. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Don't forget protein and healthy carbs too. And do plenty of exercise. Remember, around 30minutes a day. Take a walk, walk the dog, run, jog, skip, play sport, etc.

But yes. Be healthy (common sense), but don't do anything dangerous!

Good luck!
